Anybody around 5' 6-7" and 168 lbs?
I was wondering if anyone around my height, weight, age, situation, would like to buddy up and help each other?
My highest was 215 pounds, before I had kids. I lost a bunch when I had them because of severe morning sickness. I was not given meds for it just told to eat healthy, so I lost 33 pounds. I'm guessing cuz I was obese and they didn't think it mattered much?
Currently I am 168 and would like to be around 120-135. I'm not sure since the lowest I've been is 150 and that was when I was 15. I cannot remember my weight before that, I was shorter anyway. So just whenever I look and feel good about my weight. (aka healthy)
I have an elliptical, weights, go on walks w/ my children (slow lol) and waiting for my WiiFit to arrive in the mail. My sweetheart bought it for my birthday (early!).
I have two girls, they are 3 and 5 yrs old.
So, anyone similar wanna pair up and motivate each other to lose weight? I'm usually one every day and sometimes several times a day because I only work 2-3 days a week. The rest, I just take care of my babies.
Oh and I'm 24yrs old (turning 24 in two weeks anyway).
me me me!! I'm 5'6" 165 lbs. 27 y/o. Highest weight was 180. I've been losing about a pound a week. I'm trying to get to 135 to start, then I may lower it again, but if I get to 135, I'll be thinner than I've been since I was like, 14?
and I also have a five year old boy. so, yay! I love to meet people who are similar to me, stat wise. and I need all the support I can get. especially after the holiday weekend.
Hey guys....
Nice to meet you!
I am 5'8 and about 160. Been trying to lose for over a month but I get sidetracked so easy! My sister in law came to visit with her kids and I don't think I have ever eaten so much! I don't really know what moderation is.
I would love some buddies! How many calories are you guys taking in? What kind of exercise are you doing?
Good luck!

Cool, nice to meet you, too! I'm 5'6-7" it's different every time I go in, maybe I'm taller in the mornings lol.
I take in about 1200-1600 calories per day. My exercise is elliptical, some light weights, squats, lunges, crunches, walks with my children but that's so slow I dont think it counts lol. And I'm getting a WiiFit any day now, but not really expecting that to be too active just something fun to play while not sittin on my bum.
I have a problem with overeating. The way I deal with it is keep really good track of my intake and to keep foods I know I will binge on, out of my life as much as possible. Like donuts unfortunately. I can have one at a time but not buy a box.
We are going to be journaling daily and weighing in/measuring in weekly to keep good track. I just put up a journal of my day today and thoughts. You dont have to post your food just how your day went would be fine I think :) I like to post my food so everyone can see if I messed up and motivate me to do better the next day.
Good luck and feel free to join us.
Sounds good to me! What day is weigh in? I haven't been on the scale in about 2 weeks, scary!
I have never done a journal entry before. Is there a way for you two to know when I write an entry?
Sounds like a great way to get motivated for sure! Thanks for the invite to join!

Hey Casey! I'd love to weigh in on Fridays. I have a bad habit of screwing up on the weekends and sometimes I have water weight gain from that on monday, tuesday...sometimes even until wednesday or thursday...and I think if we just are on each other's buddy list, we can just check journals for motivation. we can tag this thread too.
Sounds great, Fridays it is!
Thanks for the info on tagging the thread, sure makes it easier to find.
My goal is to get down to 145, then see where I am. Been a while since I have been below 150, so i forget what it looks like!
What throws you guys off the most? Mine is family coming into town. EVERYTHING revolves around eating. Makes me feel like no one else watches what they eat. Also, vacations over the summer are going to be rough to get through trying to find something good to eat. Not to mention all the yummy martinis I will have to give up! Also, work makes dieting rough. I work 12 and 24 hour shifts. SO hard to plan when people are constantly eating!
Well, guys, headed home from work in one hour! Have a good night1

Hi! I am 5'7 and 173.
My highest weight was 268.
My goal is 150-153.
I was overweight my whole life and I am smaller now than I have ever been. I want to reach my goal by the end of October.
I walk about 3-5 miles per day and lift weights 3-4 times a week. I also started running on the eliptical trainer at the gym for 35 mins at level 6. I know I need to up my cardio to lose weight. I just started with the eliptical trainer this week. At first I thought walking would take care of it, but I really need to hit that target heart rate for 30-45 mins per day to reach my goal.
Blondasian, awesome job on losing nearly 100 pounds!! You look amazing! I think your goal of 150 is great because you already look so thin.
Hey -
I'm 5'6", starting at 167, and 24 years old. I'm trying to learn the slow and steady approach to weight loss, because I used to go for an "all or nothing" system that had me starving, sore, and burned out after a few weeks.
My lowest weight was 152 and that was about 4 years ago. So I'm trying to get to 140, because I honestly don't know how small I can be. I've always been slightly overweight so I'm not 100% sure of what I'm capable of. I would LOVE the support, though!!
Right now I'm keeping a calorie journal (which is really hard, because I work so much that have something else to remember can be tough), working out a little 5 days/week, but I just started about a week ago, and my main problem is the weekends. I have a pretty social group of friends which includes bars, eating out, and all of the usual weight-loss pitfalls you can think of.
I could really use the help of someone else going through the same thing to keep me on track!
Hi,
I'm 20 years old, 5'5 and 169 pounds. This is the heaviest I've been at but I've been struggeling with weight loss for what seems like my entire life. My ideal weight would be about 150 pounds. I would love it if I get/give some support as I think I have tried almost everything else!
Hey, you sound just like me.
I have 2 kids, gained the most weight with my last one (he's a few months old), and now hit the scale at 169 (approxiametly; it's a cheap scale).
Anyway, my goal weight is around 115-125..and my lowest I've ever been was 115...ironically after the birth of my first child.
I just started exercising and looking at 30 minutes, every other day and hopefully some strength/pilates at least once a week.
Welcome! I am so glad we're doing this. I love meeting ppl on here with similar stats. I think it will really help all of us.
sk_andrews: you sound so much like me it made me laugh. I've totally been a yo-yo dieter for YEARS and guess what? I'm still a fatty! HA! And I am with you on the weekends being tough. I blow my diet almost every weekend. I think we can help eachother stay on track with that.
I think we've planned on just buddying up, sharing journals, and weighing in on Fridays. I'm considering doing measurements too, but only because I've been super pissed at my scale lately. Tag it! Let's do it!
Wow I'm not alone!!!
Hey guys!
I'm 22 years old, 170 lbs, 5'5 and have been trying so desperatly to lose weight! I think ideally I would be 120-130 lbs, however, I was 125 lbs in GRADE NINE, and I was slim and trim, so for some reason I dont know if thats entirely logical, for myself that is.
Another note, I have ENORMOUS boobs! Size 32 I cups....I've had large breasts my whole life....in grade 6 I was an A or B cup, and I was a skinny rail. By Jr high I was a size C cup....High school rolled around....D, DD...and for the longest time I was wearing a size 36 DD. I went and got fitted for a bra and I learned that my actual size was not 36, but 32 E...at that point I was around 150 lbs...and semi-comfortable with my weight...
In November of 2006 I was 153 lbs and was fed up. Not only had my ex boyfriend just broke up with me, I decided I needed a life change. I started working out with a friend of mine who kicked my ass at the gym. She pushed me hard. I was going to the gym SEVEN days a week. I eventually cut back to 6 days a week, allowing myself to have a cheat day once a week. That day was Friday. So there I was at the gym monday through thursday and saturdays and sundays.
I did this for about a month straight. I lost about 10 lbs! I was 142 in January of 2007. I looked and felt GREAT. I even dropped a couple bra sizes and went down to a G cup. I weighed myself in January of THIS year and I clocked in at a whopping 170............an ultimate high, yet it made me feel like an ulitmate low.
I was devistated. 2007 for me was a complete write off. Worst year of my life.... from job situations, and family issues and having to find a new job and then having my new boyfriend write off my car in a collision, stress took over my life and I just ate and ate ...and ate. I couldn't even control it, but at the time it didnt seem like an issue, until I saw the number on the scale. Yep, I cried.
So in ONE year I GAINED 28, ALMOST 30 pounds.
I have had zero children....
I decided something had to change....knowing I had large breasts I decided that I had to do something about them. I went for a consulation in Feb to see a surgeon about my chest. I have scheduled my breast reduction operation for October 7th of this year.
Since Febuary, I have gained 5 or more pounds and then have lost those 5 or so pounds. I am still sitting at 170 lbs.
My ulimate goal is to lose 40 lbs in time for my surgery. My current BMI is 28 and the surgeon said that my BMI cannot be more than 28 or they wont preform the surgery. I would like my BMI to be around 22.
The only frustraiting difference is, Ive been working out, hard. Ive been eating right, even cutting my calories as low as 1000-1100 a day. Starting my day off with a bowl of special K fruit and yogart with just enough 1% milk to just barely wet the cereal. Then I have 2-3 cooked egg whites for protien.
At work I may eat some grapes or an orange. Lunch I will have a Lean Cuisine dish (good for portion control) . In the afternoon I will eat a bag of raw carrots. When I get home at around 5:30pm I eat another Lean Cuisine meal before 6pm. I let my food settle for an hour or so, then I go to the gym.
I start off by doing weight training and resistance training. Then I finish off with an HOUR of cardio on the highest possible incline (15) and a speed of 3.3 which, I could probably slow jog too, but I walk it instead. Each cardio work out burns anywhere from 580-650 calories.
After I wasnt losing any weight I realized that I was also gaining weight from the weight training..so instead of getting discouraged I began to focus more on losing inches. Still havent seen anything yet.
I have troubles squeezing into a size 32 pant.....somethings got to change. My clothes dont fit........and I dont have the money to go out and spend money on a whole new wardrobe, ESPECIALLY since I dont want to be this size for much longer...
I have a boyfriend who is...not very supportive with all this.....He tells me he loves me the way I am.... and I just smile and say "thanks, but seriously now"
He eats what he wants and I dont really expect him to change his eating habits because of me...but a little support would be nice in a while..... he's better with it at times... but it seems I have to battle even harder now: to fight my demons as well as 'him' lol
I told myself I would really go hard core starting June 1st. I had started on a rough patch slighty, but started the gym and things were going good. I started shopping for groceries using only the perimeter of the store (the fresh foods). I stayed clear of the isles. Theres nothing good for you in there.....
Its now..July 9th, Im still 170 lbs.... no change in my inches... Im a little disappointed...because I know I have done this before.....so its really frustraiting (as Im sure we all know)
I actually even wrote into this show called X weighted on Slice (I think its only in Canda) and its a weight loss show.................Funny thing is they are actually casting in Edmonton, Alberta (where I live) and so they actually wrote me back. They told me where to meet and what times...(its actually this friday and saturday at our West Edmonton Mall) However, this season they are casting 'families' only........since I dont have kids, I dont qualify. Which basically broke my heart. Since I got up the courage to even consider this crazy plan in the first place. I really thought that this would be it and I would be on my way AND on national television! Showing that I can accomplish my goal.
So yeah... The show wont happen now...so Im back to trying to do this all myself....and its hard lol I really hope I can accomplish my goal by end of September......Even 30 pounds would make my day
So, after that giant novel, I just wanted to say I am here for support and I am in NEED of much myself ![]()
Count me in pls!!! I am 28 y/o and weigh 165. Height is 5' 6". My lowest weight was 123 lbs which was back when I was in India (around 5 years ago) and was very strict with my workouts. I used to workout and do yoga regularly. But since then I got married and came to the U.S and started working due to which there is no time for cooking (i also hate to cook) and we eat out everyday which caused my weight increase. We do not have kids yet. But we r planning to start a family once I loose atleast 20 lbs so that I will be around 145 lbs.
Well, my situation is kinda similar to yours. I'm 23, turning 24 next month. I have 2 kids (4 1/2 and 2 1/2) and I just joined CC in June. I started at 173 and am down to 167...oh, and I'm 5'6''. My highest weight was 171 a day before I gave birth. I was in the 130s - 140s before the birth of both of my kids. And my goal weight is 148, because I don't want to be skinny, just more satisfied with myself than I am now... I try to eat better than I used to,but its not easy! I do walk, trying to run lately, I get outside and play with the kids but I don't have money no time for the gym. I could always use more buddies and more motivation!!
EDITED TO ADD: My calorie goal is about 1450 a day; however, I do occasionally go over because I'm convincing myself that this will take time! And if I have to slooowwwly lower my calorie intake, then that's fine with me.
Awesome! Welcome, everyone! I'm so glad I decided to ask if there was anybody like me out there :D
Hello! I would love to join your buddy/support group. I am 5 '6''-7'' and I currently weigh 170 lbs, 26 years old. I have a daughter who is 5, before I got pregnant with her I weighed 125! I was at 202 when I gave birth to her 5 years ago. Then I got my weight back down to 135 3 years ago, but then I went through a divorce and stuff and gained 30 lbs in the past 3 years!!! I am so bummed! My mini goal is 150 and then eventually down to 140.
But I started counting calories a couple months ago, and now have decided to go to on the South Beach Diet Phase 1 starting this week. So far so good, I have lost 2 lbs so far!
I am 5'6" and weigh 167and am 26 years old.. I was down to 159 about 5 months ago and am quite blue about the weight gain. My highest was 185 after the 4th child about 2 years ago. I am seriously wanting to get down to 150lb which would be the lowest in probably 13 years. I dont have any determination and am excited to be in a group with someone of my own size.
2 years ago i was at my heaviest (169lbs) after stopping jenny craig and regular gym exercising. i am 5'6'' and currently 24 yrs old. that past weight put me into the overweight zone and really had me feeling lethargic and had family members commented on whether i was pregnant- how depressing!
anyways, i lost 10 lbs immediately (over 1 1/2 months) using nutrisystem which i recommend to give your diet a kickstart- but definitely get familiar with portion sizes and healthy choices on your own as well to make the transition to your own food easier.
then over a year i lost an additional 13 lbs by simply walking daily (my dog and work) and making relatively healthy eating choices (eating home more than eating out- which was a problem in college!)
i am back on track with really watching what i eat and making healthy choices and exercising most days of the week so i am looking forward to striving towards more weight loss and healthy lifestyle changes!
good luck to all looking to lose weight...stick with it and you will succeed!!
Hello,
I am 5'6" now at 154.5. Highest weight was 180 lbs. I have the wiifit and I've had it since it came out in the market. I love it. It weighs you and tells you your BMI. It charts your progress and talks positive to you.
I have lost 7 lbs on it and it keeps me motivated. The strength exercises are good. Doing Yoga is great. But you have to do the running portion of it. Your running in place and you burn a lot of calories in a short period of time. I run now 30 minutes 3 times a week. I started by doing the lowest time on the system. I worked my way up. I think I'm ready to move to 40 mins. Even though my knees are arthritic; it is a lower impact than running outside. I look better and feel better.
I think you will like it and use it as another weight loss tool.
Good Luck
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
