Anybody else HATE Walmart?!
Ugh, I just went grocery shopping at Wal Mart and they are horrible! Fresh produce? Yeah, let's charge twice what we should for bad product. Grapes at 2.79 a lb when almost have the bag is moldy - this is ridiculous!
Also, I tried to find Laughing Cow Cheese as I've seen so many people rave about it. Did I find it? Noooooo. I'm sorry, we don't carry that.
I was going to buy a roast for my tiny crockpot. Just needed a real small one cause it's only me. 12 bucks. I wanted to cry.
Finally, I ended up buying 18 items...and spent 41 dollars. I want to do this. I want to lose weight and eat healthier. But I can't drop 40 bucks everytime I need a few items. This is ridiculous.
I've never been to a Walmart that sold produce. It's probably better that way, haha. We only really go there to buy stuff that we need cheap and nobody will know the difference (like storage bins, some school supplies, home appliances like curtain rods and whatnot). They do sell food, but it's stuff like cereals, bread, snack foods, frozen meals/pizzas, ice cream, and some milk and yogurt. No fruits, veggies, or meats. I only ever really buy Gatorade or Propel from there, and their store brand knockoff Crystal Light powder mixes. Sometimes the store is nice, but when it's crowded and not so clean, I hate it. And some of the people that shop there are infuriating and ridiculous.
but I LOVE Sam's Club. I absolutely love it. When I compare the two it's hard for me to believe that they're even from the same company. I always buy my oranges from Sam's and nowhere else. You get a big bag and they're huuuuge and a good price (not to mention delicious). But we only shop there for bulk items or special things that we can only find there. We typically buy our groceries at ShopRite, which I'm also a big fan of. haha I love grocery shopping.
dplatzer- no offence taken, I realize that those who live in more urban areas think that everyone has the same options. I know beacuse I was once one of them/you. It wasn't until I mover here that i realized that so many of the stereotypes about rural people are based on the fact that they have fewer options than most people, health options, dental options, clothing options etc. there are aspects of where I live that I absolutely love - it is so beautiful, the biodiversity here is incredible. However I would like to live in a place where the nearest movie theater isn't an hour away.
