Is anybody here a fan of I Love Lucy?

Quote  |  Reply
Is anybody here a fan of I love lucy? I am a die-hard Lucy maniac. I have all 6 seasons on DVD, as well as a few other Lucy items. I don't hear of many other people though who watch "I Love Lucy" and was just wondering if there is anybody else out there?

My sister-in-law went to two Lucy-cons (?). But I can't say I care for Lucy much.
THEY HAVE LUCY-CONS??? *practically hits the cieling with excitement* where, when, and how much do they cost?
I really like the show but I wouldn't call myself an avid fan.  If I found it was on, I would love to watch it, especially the one with the baking and the raw eggs she was holding in her shirt - haha!  But I'm not a collector at all.

What on earth is a Lucy-Con?
I'll ask, she will be up on Friday (think one was in Lucy's home townin New York?)
LOL...short for Lucy convention
Hey....I live within 30 minutes of her hometown.  I'm not a huge fan, but I like her.

And of interest....I live in Sharon Stone's hometown.  Gee, that's something to brag about!!! lol
You live with 30 minutes of Buffalo?

.. cause.. Buffalo is her home town :)
No...she grew up in Celeron, NY...just south of Buffalo.  I'm within 1 hour of Buffalo.

Actually....check out:

Lucille Ball was born in Jamestown, NY and grew up in neighboring Celeron, NY.  I used to live 10 miles outside of Jamestown until I married and moved a little further west.  I live in Meadville, PA...work in Erie, PA.
I have the life magazine with her on the cover from the year she died, and some really old videos.  Love lucille ball, what a comic genius, way ahead of her time.
Okay, I have never been a big fan, but I am a redhead and my dh is cuban. Okay now imagine how many times my husband has been called "Ricky Ricardo."
Has anyone seen the movie Rat Race? They showed a Lucy-con, it was a bunch of women dressed up like Lucy.
I've seen Rat Race sparkles, funny movie!! :-D
I love her! and I think she did alot for women in her time.

Did you guys know that she was the first woman to be shown on television pregnant? Supposedly it was a bit of a scandel at the time.....

Edit: Fixed typos ;)
Love her dearly
Never heard of her...;-)

wow. this is an old thread.

she is one of my all time fav comediennes who came of age when women were not prime time acts but had always been part of troupes.

Lucy rocks!
I love lucy!!! what a crazy lady, gotta love her...
The show was hilarious.  I didn't care for the later ones such as The Lucy Show.  Would you believe my mother and father were named Fred and Ethel?
actually i do enjoy the show a lot.  I used to watch nick at nite when i was in junior high all the time.  I love Lucy was one of my favorites, along with all in the family and the Jeffersons being my favorite show on the network.

I however hate any shows with canned/fake laughter... to me it shows disrespect and insult my intelligence, i dont NEED some audio recording to tell me when to laugh.  The live studio audience will do that for me :)
