Anybody who loves to cook?

Quote  |  Reply

I have been doing CC+ for about a week.  Before this I was on the Best Life Diet, which I liked a lot but felt was too expensive for what I was getting out of it.

I love to cook my own food and am really into whole foods and good nutrition.  Anybody else out there who is into preparing their own eats from scratch?

I love to prepare my family's foods from scratch! I still do buy some processed stuff occasionally but I feel so much better when I know exactly what's in our food, no preservatives and stuff like that.

What kinds of things to you bake/cook? I told my husband if I didn't care about my waistline, I'd be baking everyday! :) I love to bake. I recently came across a recipe for scones that is really good and I plan on tweaking it some to make it more healthy. Scones are my favorite!

lately I have been baking some high-fiber chocolate chip banana muffins I found in the recipe database.  My husband and I love them for breakfast or a mid-morning snack (and they are not a bad diet-buster.)

I am trying to learn to make bread from my sister, but I don't quite have that down yet.

Otherwise I like to cook all kinds of things.  I recently started using my slow cooker a lot more.  I subscribe to Cooking Light and frequently cook recipes from the magazines.  I like that because it encourages me to try things I wouldn't think of on my own.

Tonight I'm going to make roasted red pepper soup! I'm pretty excited.

That soup sounds yummy! I subscribe to a cooking magazine called Light & Tasty which I really like. There are usually a few recipes in there that I think will go over pretty well with my family. And it's always fun to look through the first time and mark out which ones I want to use.

Mastering bread making is easy once you get the hang of it. I used to have issues with yeast. :) I'd always kill it somehow or another. I have a bread machine now that I use sometimes which is really a time saver.

I came across a muffin recipe a few months ago that is similar your banana muffins. It is for pumpkin chip muffins. We really like them!

I also love cooking, hence I'm on this site!  Laughing

I have one of the Cooking Light Cookbooks. I love it!  I use a lot of their recipes. I can even pass most of them off on my hubby! Double bonus!  Perhaps I should try the magazine....

If you like shrimp, they have a wonderful one for shrimp tacos with pineapple/mandarin orange salsa. MMMMMM and healthy too! One of my faves....if you don't like shrimp, you could substitute chicken.
