Has anybody ever tried these???

I'm looking to tone up, lose some weight, and get in better shape for soccer season in the spring (but mostly just become leaner.) I like to go to the gym and run, but it's getting colder outside so I can't always run around my neighborhood, and I can only go to the gym twice a week.

I was thinking about getting a workout DVD to use on the days when I can't go to the gym or run outside. I was thinking about getting Jillian Micheal's 30 Day Shred or the Workout: One-on-One Training with Jackie Warner DVD.

Has anyone tried either of those videos and had good results? Would an exercise DVD provide a good workout? And do you have any other DVD suggestions that you've tried and seen results with?

Never dealt with the jackie warner dvd but the jillian micheals dvd kicks my butt everytime i use, it she includes 3 different intensity levels.  There is actually a thread somewhere in the fitness forums about the 30 day shred

If you're looking for a good, tough workout DVD I'd actually recommend Jillian Michael's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism.  It is a very good 40 minute cardio/plyometrics circuit - the DVD also allows you to play circuits independently so that you can do a shorter version of it if some day you don't have 40 minutes.  In my opinion, it is a better purchase than the 30 DS - it includes some of the same moves as 30 DS, and then some.  I grew out of 30DS quickly but still use BFBM.

CC31-40 mins is too much for me, i just dont want to spend that much time and the 20 mins was the main reason i started 30 day, im sick of it tho, could u somehpw do a good 20 mins from BFBM like ud get from 30 day?

absolutely!  It is a very good workout and doesn't require anything but a mat.  you can definitely "mix and match" the circuits to make for a very good, 20 minute workout.  And who knows, maybe after a few months you can make 20 into 25, then 25 into 30,....and so forth until you are doing the whole DVD :)

is it cardio and weights like 30 day, all in 1 circuit?

have u heard of the no more trouble zones WO?

It is cardio, but it doesn't incorporate any dumbells.  It uses plyometric exercises (i.e., explosive movements to build speed & power).

I own all three DVDs: 30DS, No More Trouble Zones and BFBM.  BFBM is my favorite and the only one I still do on a more regular basis (whenever I don't have time to do anything else, basically).

I grew out of 30DS and NMTZ rather quickly.  However, that doesn't mean you wouldn't enjoy No More Trouble Zones.  It is also a 40 minute workout, and much more similar to 30DS than BFBM.  You can also select individual circuits.  So if you really liked 30DS, you'd like NMTZ better than BFBM, I think.

CC31-thank u for all ur help! 1 more q bc im sure theyre really all the same and im just getting confused btwn them all but,

which would be the most conducive to be broken down into 20 min segments?

thank u!

If you have comcast digital, you can get some of the Jillian Michael's on the free on demand movies. You could try them out there before you buy them.

oh man, no comcast, i have cablevision and they have nothing good! i think im going to buy Banish Fat Boost Metabolism

i think, lol, i jsut want to be able to break the longer WO into shorter 20 min WOs, but still get a complete WO in, ya know?
