anybody ever try FucoThin?

Quote  |  Reply
it's made by Garden of Life. this is what the web site says: fücoTHIN is a natural, whole food based supplement that is made with a proprietary concentration of fucoxanthin combined with pomegranate seed oil, for a patent-pending formula that is naturally thermogenic. fücoTHIN has been studied by leading scientists for many years and is the only formula that has human clinical research to confirm its thermogenic effect.

it sounds good to me, but i wanted to know if anyone else tried it and got results? Dr. Mercola endorses it

has anyone even heard of it?
has anyone heard of Dr. Mercola... @ mercola.com?
I've never heard of it, but that is probably because I turn a deaf ear towards all diet pills and fads.

Diet pills like this will make you lose weight, but only in one place, YOUR WALLET.

Be careful.

I get my "thermogenic" effect from Exercise.
thank you
I'm will start with the fucoThin this week. I hope it works like it is met to do so, it was recommended to me by my doctor i need to lose about 20 pounds.
anyone else? thank you btw
If there were a diet pill that actually worked, it would have been splashed all over the front page of every newspaper you have ever heard of. It's easy to get a "study" that shows an "effect" compared to a placebo - a large enough sample size will make anything seem statistically significant. (Example: our product proven to make you lose weight!  - fine print: "subjects lost two pounds more than the controls over the *eight-week* study".)

Don't waste your money. Just trust the laws of thermodynamics - calories in, calories out.
yes... but the pill is not chemicals it is all natural things.
Hi there tangerine2777,

anyhoo, I just bought fucothin yesterday. Will try today the 18th. Sounds very interesting. I have exercised - speed walking, jogging, strength, swimming.  got a little more "toned" but didn't lose any thing. 5 pounds over 4 months and I am freaking starving. Salads, water, wheat bread. I have tried. smaller meals more often blah blah blah.  wore out two pair of nikes running and have more blisters than ever.

how are you doing.  it says it takes 6 weeks to start kicking in, then you start losing.  let me know.

keep your spirits up.  Dr. Mercola sent me the vid and I thought it's worth a try.   Good Luck.

hi,

i purcharsed fucothin but have not taken it yet.  wanted to know if those on this post who have tried it what do you think?  I am not looking for a magic pill but something to jump start my metabolism.

thanks
just my 2cents ~ when Oprah invests her money in stock for a weight loss pill, I'll try it.
I take one concentrated fucoxanthin at meal time with lots of water. Personally, I believe it is too soon to tell. I do not weigh myself - I see how my clothes are fitting.  It has only been two weeks and you have to give it a FULL SIX WEEKS.  I will probably ALWAYS take this as a supplement because of the iodine - I have pretty much eliminated salt from my diet and have thyroid nodules!

In four weeks - we shall see. Meanwhile I have lowered my calories and increased my activities.  Not drastic, minor changes.

ok, I think it's working...clothes are a bit looser.  But period is quite heavy. I contacted Mercola, and some others about the possibility of the product being able to thin blood? Since I was about over with periods and I am into week three of seaweed caps, and am having a really "bad" period, I would say it is the seaweed caps.  Didn't get anywhere with my question if seaweed and pomegrante can cause thin blood.  Oh well.  I am going to decrease to two gel capsules for the duration and see what happens.

Fad fad fad fad fad.

Waste of money

and, according to the post above this, it makes you have a heavy period!

Think about the company that makes this stuff.  They want you to be fat and feel bad about yourself so you will buy their products.  Why do you want to give your money to a company like that?  You can exercise and eat right FOR FREE.  Save your money for something nice for yourself, maybe a new dress or top, for when you get healthier the right way.

Possibly. But since I have purchased the product, I will continue it's use and continue for another 4 weeks. I am just curious. I am not positive the product is causing the heavy bleeding which is why I put the question if it thins blood.

I am not ready to give up on this yet. Since I was diagnosed with a multi-nodular goiter and the endocrinologist chooses NOTHING as treatment after $300 IN VISIT FEES! plus the costs of ultrasound, etc.; the trace amount of iodine contained in the seaweed could be beneficial.  I have noticed a couple good things happening that are reversing what  I attribute to thyroid problems that specialists will not treat unless it's severe.  Especially the dry skin.  Unreal. My skin is not cracked anymore. Sore. Withered. I drank and drank water. Took efa's, vitamins; and nothing. I have been on this for awhile and my skin feels better.  and nails too!!!!

As for the heavy periods, I will decrease the amount of product for awhile and see if this helps. But I do believe it is working. I lost 4 pounds after months of feeling hungry and being tired from all that exercising. It just wasn't working. My metabolism was stuck.  Time will tell.

I have decreased my calories to 1700 and am trying to increase my exercising.  Thank you

I have two responses...first, before making statements about a company, one needs to actually know something about the company and its history.

More importantly, since my daughter has a genetic blood clotting disorder and takes blood thinners, I checked on the blood-thinning properties of Fucothin before suggesting that she use this product.  I found my answer by googling "blood-thinning properties of seaweed" and came up with a goldmine of information.  THE SHORT ANSWER IS YES.   I cannot sopy it to you in this forum for it is very long and has all of the scientific studies cited.  I think that adjusting the number of supplements you take when in or near your period is a good idea.
It seems even some vegetables should come with warnings!! Or how about cayenne pepper, garlic, curry powder.  The list goes on.  It is crucial to do research and always ask your doctor before beginning any type of weight loss/exercise program. Good time to get a health check up!!

It does seem that the fucoidans (I hope I spelled that correctly), does have mild blood thinning capabilities.  Along with some immunity enhancing qualities, improve skin and cellular growth and more.  I just lumped brown seaweed in the search and came up with the Fucoidans information.

Just common sense!  Talk with your doctor. Read up on what it is your going to start doing to your body.  And with everything in life: moderation.  A little can go a long way.

if doctor mercodan isnt your real doctor and you dont know him personally well enough to take this statemet as false then think about this  A lot of doctors will promote a diet pill for enough money. The american heart association will promote anything if you donate enough money.

Plus do you really want to take something that raises your internal heat. Even if it is natural it doesnt sound healthy or safe.
I do not take diet pills. This is a supplement that contains seaweed and pomegrante oil.  That is all.   I hope It isnot a chemical stimulant. Or a drug.   Claims does not decrease appetite.  If I desired to eat salads of brown seaweed all day long the results would be the same but seaweed to eat is slimy.  I love salads but I'll take the seaweed capsules.  The iodine is helpful too.  Read up on raising metabolic rate, while utilizing internal stores of energy.  As you age, this utilization slows. And Mine Is Slow.  There is no stimulation of the central nervous system.  It is a plant that grows in the oceans.
  • All-natural concentrate with fucoxanthin levels 250-500% higher than wild seaweed
  • Supports the metabolism or breakdown of fat in white adipose tissue, including belly fat
  • The first marine algae-derived ingredient with clinically proven thermogenic effect
  • Does not stimulate the central nervous system and will not cause jitters or lost sleep

Yes, Fucoidans can thin blood. But FucoThin is made with fucoxathin which is a carotinoid. It is safe and effective. Some of the results have been fantastic. There have been no other complaints regarding heavy periods as a results of taking the product that I have heard of. Taking less than 3 capsules a day will deliver below dosage needed to burn fat. So I wouldn't recommend taking 2. One can actually take more than 3 and get better results, quicker than 6 weeks. Just watch taking late at night because your body is putting off heat and it may effect your being able to be comfortable falling asleep. So I take it before 7pm. Good luck.
