Has anybody used Acai Berry Juice as a means to health and weight loss?
I've been hearing a bunch of stuff about "the power of acai berry". It's been talked about on Oprah and Rachel Ray. I've read many testimonials, both real and fake I'm sure. I'm tempted to buy a bottle of pure acai juice just to see if any of these claims prove to be true. It's not so much exclusively weight loss, I'm in for the other health benefits as well.
Has anybody else tried acai berry juice? If so, what happened? Did you lose weight? Did you notice any other change in your health, i.e. increased energy levels, decreased pain levels, etc etc.
I'd love to hear from you! Thanks in advance.
Much love and Aloha to you all.

I saw some in the grocery store today but put it back when I saw the sugar content! I am wondering as well. Hope more ppl respond.
Any kind of pure juice is going to be good for you, in moderation. Of course it will have sugar, just like fruit.
I know acai fruit is supposed to be high in antioxidants, but so are cranberries and some other fruits that I can't think of right now.
I have had it, mixed with blueberry, and it was good.....not magical, but good :)
No no, I'm talking about PURE ACAI BERRY JUICE. No added sugar, preservatives, or any other fruit juices to make it taste good. The juice I'm talking about is straight from the acai, nothing but the fruit itself, every part of it. That's the juice with the most benefits, not this fake, sugar loaded juices you see in the grocery store. I'd like to hear about the real, pure fruit juice that you could probably only find online. I've personally have never seen pure acai berry juice locally, I've only seen it online.
I think they had some at the Whole Foods near me in the supplement section near the back of the store. I'm pretty sure it said pure, but I didn't buy it, so I didn't really study it too closely.
I have a free trial of capsules which I don't typically do anything "capsule", but it was easy to get. I am going to try the juice. And I believe, just like pure cranberry, you dilute the pure acai with some water. I have read that it is $45 per bottle and that 1 or 2 ounces a day is the "dose".
I am interested in the health benefits...I am 53 and my rosecea has kicked up with pre-menopause - I believe that is the reason since it gets worse before my periods which are fluctuating from 14 to 93 days - it is a lot of fun :( !
There are some other annoying things that go with this age circulation and capillary-wise and I'm hoping for some improvement there as well.
If it kicks up metabolism - GREAT! - but I will be happy if some of the other stuff responds.
I have been taking the capsules for 3 days so too soon to tell about those, I believe. It seems like food cravings are less, but I've also been on CC about 10 days so perhaps just getting used to 'less'.
I too saw something online about it and I actually got the trial bottle but it's not the juice it's these little melt away tablets. I actually just took 2 a little while ago and I'm going to go eat some hard boiled eggs for breakfast. They didn't taste bad at all. Here is what the bottle says onthe back
Acai Berry powder 500 MG
Other ingredients: Dextrose, vanilla flavor, wild berrry flavor, citric acid, carmin color, crospovidone NF, Magnesium Stearate, Sucralose.
It says to take 4 tablets 30 minutes before meals so I guess this 15 pill bottle would really only last like 2 days. I hardly doubt I'll feel any difference but only time will tell.
Açai - is naturally full of sugar and used as a stimulant in Brazil (and other parts of S America) where it grows.
There's now all sorts of energy drinks, health supplements etc that use it.
Even in it's natural form it does contain a lot of sugar and fat believe it or not.
I'm no nutritionist but I take the same approach to Açai that I would towards coconuts and avocados - Good for you in small doses!
It does also have some antioxidant qualities apparently and in the few cases I've tried it, it's not quite the same but does have a similarity to cranberry juice, but pulpier.
Brazilians drink it in plastic cups from street vendors usually, with teaspoon upon teaspoon of added sugar!!! But then they also have Guarana which is like a n extra mental-supped up version of an energy drink! he he
I think the acai ice cream is the funniest.
I fthis is a miraculous weight loss product, why negate the effects by turning it into ice cream?
I've tried the Acai Berry Max from Tahitian Traders .... this is the pure juice form, not an energy drink or mixed smoothie. You can get it from GNC (costs about $40 for a 32oz bottle). The taste is something to be acquired - it was described as "a mixture of chocolate and blueberrys" but I have to disagree. It has a cocoa tast (note - not the same thing as chocolate) mixed with what I would say is closer to cranberry than blue berry. Since Tahitian Trader is 100% organic, it's as close to pure as I could find. One thing to know..the juice is very thick (think pressed fruit rather than refined or diluted jusices) and it has somewhat of a buttery taste to it. It's best if it is kept cold and SHAKE well before drinking.
Now - does it work? I've been taking it for a month and haven't seen any weight loss. However, I will say that my energy level is better and there hasn't been that "crash" later in the day that most often happens with so called energy drinks. It is high in anti-oxidents and I have seen an improvement in my skin...less redness and very translucent.
I'm skeptical about anything in pill form that promises to lost 20-30 lbs in one month. But as far as a supplement for overall health, I think the juice is good. I take it in the morning with my multi-vitamins.
The free Acai Berry detox is a scam. I was charged 87.18 within 5 days to my credit card. It was supposed to be a free trial, I just had to pay for shipping. I just want to warn people. I actually did receive the product and am not expecting any miracle at this point.

This was my experience also! I stopped it before the charge by using a Virtual Credit Card number............Citi MC provides these for internet shopping, they are wonderful. I personally think I was sent Sweet Tarts! Not sure why I was naive enought to even give it a try........I know better!
The pop-up box thing offering the free Acai and detox product is a scam. I have clicked on them several times now. You will notice that all of the women are from Easton Connecticut, and that sometimes the woman (photos, story) is the same but they change the name. Let me tell you: I live in Easton Connecticut and these women do not live in Easton. Easton has 2,500 houses and our town phone book is a little booklet distributed by our very own Senior Center.
Those stories are packs of LIES! And ask you OB/GYN or Physician or check the Mayo Clinic website on the usefulness of colon cleansing.
Read this article and the comments section for more on the acai scams, including the fake blogs used to market them and lots of personal stories from people who got scammed. Crazy stuff!
I never really understood why people ordered stuff of those "blogs scams" anyway...if you want to try Acai Berry supplements, and detox "cleanse" then be my guest, just go to your local pharmacy and grab some acai berry supplements and a 30 day supply of "colon cleanse".
Personally? I think the Acai berry has some great energy benefits. I take the pill form, along with my daily vitamin, and I've noticed that I don't drink as much coffee (because I don't need it!) :) so the Acai works for me (Energy wise)
The "cleanse"? well, I think colon cleanses are psychosymatic anyway. If YOU think it works, then it will work. it's all in your head where that is concerned. Just don't buy the crap off the internet!!! it's all a scam, and I think that calorie-count should be more wary of whom they allow to advertise on their site.
Sometimes it's OK totext in a restaurant.
