Anybody want to join me as a healthy eating buddies?

I've come back to the site after leaving after becoming very very obsessed with weight and calorie counting, but I feel as though I can come back with a stronger and healthier frame of mind! But since leaving I have thrown all my healthy eating habits out of the window, and would love to have some people to share this new road of healthy eating and trying to maintain my weight. I would love to find some people where we can all support each other in staying healthy, since I am a sucker for all things sweet and need someone to slap my wrists every now and then!

It would also be great if I could find someone with similar stats! I'm 21, 5'3 and 106lbs. I find it hard to know portion sizes, amounts of food to eat and how many calories I should be eating a day when I live with a 'i can eat anything and not gain a pound' boyfriend and have very tall, large framed friends!

I'm really excited to start this journey and hope some of you guys want to join me!

xx

light vanilla soy + plain cheerios + sliced banana is one of my favs too! haha

never tried vanilla almond breeze - and actually have never noticed it at the grocery store.

and your guys' salads sound soo yummy! especially with the fresh orange, balsamic, and sea salt!

one of my favorite desserts to indulge in are skinny cow ice cream sandwiches! less than 200 cals for one sandwich - the peanut butter/chocolate ones are my very favorite :)

There are tons of healthy diet options out there -- just cause you are on a diet doesn't mean you need to eat foods full of hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, or artificial ingredients. There are all sorts of yogurts, whole grain pastas, smoothies, low-fat proteins, healthy snack bars, dark chocolates, nuts, etc. I actually work on a blog dedicated to this very topic (see profile if you are interested). Good luck!

I love soy milk and cereal! I mix weetabix and fiber one with frozen blueberries and chopped up frozen mango. sooooooo yummy!

I'm also a big fan of a big salad. Yours sounds sooo good! I make mine with a bunch of spinach and romaine lettuce with chopped up green bell peppers, pico de gallo salsa, and some crushed up soy crisps. delish!!!

I haven't tried the almond breeze but it definitely looks tasty. :)

My "dessert" that I have after dinner every day is oatmeal... <333 I have it for breakfast too but I just love it so much! Have you guys tried the steel cut oats?? I'm a big fan :)

do you guys know of an estimate of the amount of calories in a broccoli/cuke/spinach/etc. salad? obviously, varies with each type/amount of veggie, ya? just have to measure it out i spose..

can't really help you there... but i usually use the recipe builder function on CC to help me see how many calories there are in my home cooked stuff. (:

oh yea!

i just came across this site today

http://www.cleaneatingmag.com/minisite/ce_ind ex.htm

it doesn't have much vegetarian stuff on it tho (:

That website is pretty cool! But it is a shame they only have a few vegetarian recipes.

Anyone got any good vegetarian/pescetarian websites which have good recipes or meal plans? I'm starting a new office job on Monday and never usually eat 3 meals a day, i never usually eat lunch! So I need some good ideas!

i've discovered Amy's Kitchen frozen meals are fabulous :)

Okay guys; just writing a quick little post--
   Oye--needing a bit of encouragement---
not to give TMI but it's MTOM and it's the first fairly REAL one that I have had in a very LOONG time. ANYWAY----WITH THAT has come that "beached whale" feeling where EVERYTHING I eat makes me bloated and HUGE. My tummy is really extended and I can't help but to feel soooooo yucky--:( It makes me feel SO fat......and then of course..stepping on the scale was a HUGE mistake. Even tho I KNOW in my head that the "gain" is probably due to my period....it's STILL hard to swallow and makes me feel self conscious. To top it off I was like SQQQEEEZZZIIING into my jeans last night too! :( :(

very sorry to write and be so glum because I kNOW that I always LOVE the posts from girls who seem so positive and CONFIDENT but I guess I'm just really feeling the *YUCK* right now.
maybe I just need to get up,....get oUT of this dorm room.......and be productive..........STOP THINKING about "poor ol me" ya know? ha ha

alright ladies---well thanks for allowing me to spout off--
believe it or not it helped?
wishing you all the bestest of days :)
keep up your health----keep workin' hard You're all so beautiful!

aww - thanks girl. the end of your post made me smile. i was kind of falling into a smidge of a self-hatred routine myself - but trying to shake it off.

ha and now something that might make ya'll grin a smidge as well - i was out riding my bicycle yesterday, and a smidge down in the dumps, kind of contemplating about karma and how nahhh there's not really karma - when BAM i promptly crash not 2 seconds after that thought crossed my mind! haha all i could do was laugh at myself and think welp, there's my lesson in karma for the day..

hope all is well in each of your lives today :)

I can't tell you how many times I feel the same way!! ugg it's tough being a girl. I get super self-conscious when I feel all bloated. You are always welcome to vent because we can certainly relate!! :) Hope you've had a better day! <3
