Has anyone actually done 30 days of 30-day shred DVD?
I've seen many posts of people starting this program and loving it but I couldn't find any posts of people that have actually done the program for 30 days or even for a couple of weeks. I thought of doing it myself but I would like to have some feedback of people who have done this before. Did you lose weight? Toned up? How would you place/rate this DVD program and its 20 min routine among other cardio/strength workouts? Thanks!
Hey faithymom ~ I know how you feel!!! I couldn't find our remote either and couldn't make it play....I searched and found it under the couch! Kids!!!
I hope you find it....GOOD LUCK!!! When you find the remote you should hide it from them in a secret place so you can always find it :)
I'm off to do the DVD right now!! I just finished 40 mins on the treadmill and was taking a minute to catch my breath and grab a few sips of water.
Is there a way to get past the intro on the DVD? I want to just get into it and my DVD player won't let me FF.....

I'm still moving as much as I can, but I definitely need to find a good sports bra before I go jumping around like that. ow.

oh, and tinymomma...I couldn't FF past either...I guess you just have to go through it all first. Maybe start it and then go get your water and weights?
I didn't try the 'menu' button, however. Maybe that would skip past intros.
I can't skip the intro either, and I kept trying menu, FF, nothing works, it annoys the heck out of me. I turn it on and go do something else and in a few minutes the menu is on.
No kidding about sports bra! The first time I did it I was holding my breasts on the jumping rope part, instead of stopping and changing my bras! LOL, but now I know better.
I did my day 10, workout 2 this afternoon. It was tougher today, all this plank position exercises, my arms couldn't hold it anymore. And she finishes with those twisting abs (I always forget the correct name) on guess? plank position! It killed me. But I'm glad I did 5 times of 30DS this week, I think I'm going to have a break tomorrow for my muscles to recover. They need it.

I have gained a half a pound this week. I have been doing the Shred for 23 days straight. I am not giving up tho. I know I have been eating right so I am hoping that it is just a fluke.
At the end, I will report total weight loss, inches lost and body fat last.

Day 11 yesterday, workout 1, the pushups are still tough, no matter how much upper body strength training I do. I wonder if I'll ever be able to follow Nathalie's all the way in workout 1.
augette,just like with you, the scale was up 1lb yesterday! Couldn't believe it, I've been good calorie wise, so it must be water retention. It did go down 0.5lb today but it still sucks when it goes up without justification. And unfortunately, tinymomma, I couldn't keep up, this week has been slow shred wise, just once so far, it's been tough to workout at night in the last couple of days, sooo tired, soo cold. I want Spring!!!!!

Sorry things are so rough for you! I haven't lost any weight yet either. Last week I was up a lb. My hubby says I need to be more patient. Well I've been doing this exercise/diet thing for 27 days now....seems like I should be seeing some results by now!! I'm getting really frustrated. I do feel good though. I think I do good on my calories and I exercise almost everyday for at least 1 hour! Last week I only took Sunday off!!!
anyway...I did level 2 yesterday and HOLY CRAP. Natalie couldn't even keep up on the DVD!!!! Healthmd....stay on level 1 for now. I'm going to try level 2 again today but may alternate Level 1 and Level 2. Level 2 got me sweating like a pig! The cardio was SO much harder!!! Jillian says it will get easier and I sure hope so. Right now I wouldn't even THINK about Level 3....maybe in a few weeks!
My shred got jinxed! I haven't done it again since Tuesday and that makes only once for my week! Bad bad. I had a guest at my place and I didn't want to do the shred in front of him. Bad move, should have done it anyway. I'm up 2lb this week. Argh, really upsetting, but enough of complaining, tomorrow is back to the shred.
I went to the gym though. I burned 800 cal the last two days among running, crosstrainer and strength training. Trying to offset weight setback. What's up with the scale? many seem to be struggling in the last weeks despite all the exercise. Let's not despair, tinymomomma, the weight has to go down after all our work!
tinymomma, workout 2 is really tough, everything seem to be in plank position. That's true, now that you mention, Nathalie was having a hard time with the squat, imagine us! LOL You're right better stick with workout 1 and trow 2 just once to keep it interesting. Hope this is a better week: weather, weight and exercise wise! Have a great weekend evrybody and stay away from the chips Superbowl night. Have some carrots, celeri, pita chips.
Sorry to hear about your weight gain....i'm sure it will come off quickly if you stick with the shred! And you're right our weight has to go down!!! :)
I weighed myself this morning and I'm down 2 pounds! I can also tell my love handles are tummy are a tiny bit smaller!
I'm actually thinking about doing level 3 on Monday. We'll see how ambitious I am :) I already ordered Jillian's 2 new DVD's too! Anyone else? I'm very excited!!!

I live in Africa and I ordered my video and my mom sent it out about 10 days ago, but unfortunately it probably will be another week before I get it. But I've been reading this thread for encouragement!
Do you need anything else besides handweights/dumbells? I don't have any here but I bet I could make something with socks and sand lol.

way to go on your weight loss, tinymomma! And thanks for your support, this morning my weight was down 1.5lb. It's crazy, my doc reduced my thyroid hormone dose and I think that's what's causing these ups and downs. Hope to get out of this roller coaster asap! And good luck with workout 3, I tried once and I couldn't do it very well. Really tough. I gotta check Jillian's new DVDs, I think she is a pretty good trainer, let me know how you like them.
Finally got back to shredding on Saturday and Sunday, days 12 -13 and I did workout 1 and 2. I like the variation (no 3 yet!). I'll have to lower my ambitions and I'll try to do the shred 3x a week only. I'm also runniing week5 of C25K and my muscles were very sore. I'm affraid my body can't handle that much working out. ![]()
But I give many props to augenblick for sticking with the shred for 30 days straight! Wawaweewawow! Great job and greater results, 7lb loss and 4.5"! have you seen her thread, check it out here! Dovelette, hope your DVD arrives soon, I got even more excited about it after learning augenblick's success.
BTW dovelette, for the shred you really just need some handweights and a mat if you workout on a hard surface. Good luck!

It's been a good week for me. I lost 3.5lb and I've done 4 days of the shred bringing my total shred days to 17! Half way to 30. I also successfully finished week 5 of C25K. Loads of calories burned this week. Hope to continue like that.

I'm loving the 30 day shred, although I have to admit, somedays it kills me to get through it! I've only lost 3 lbs (but I'm smaller only 125 lbs) since starting 30 day shred, but I have noticed a change in my body, I think I look stronger and I definately FEEL stronger. I'm on day 21 and I did Level 3 for the first time today! Level 3 is hard but I like it better then level 2. I also bought Jillians 2 new DVD's and plan on adding those after I finish my 30 days. I will probably only do the 30 day shred workout when I'm limited for time. Her other DVD's are 50 minutes.
Anyway, if I've made it this far anyone can do it!!!

I can't believe I've only shredded once this week (18 total)! What a difference from last week, and I was aiming for 4 times shred. Ok, I have to be less ambitious. But I've been active with C25K W6 and I started week 7 today. So it's not that bad. I just miss the extra strength work that I get with the shred. Next week my son has the winter school break, so less gym time for me but hopefuly more shred! here I go again, being ambitious... I'll keep you posted.
tinymomma, good job on the shred, 21 days already and level 3! I think you did great on the weight loss, 3 lbs is pretty good, specially that you're probably at your goal weight or close. And don't forget, you probably switched fat for muscle which does not show up on the scale, but you're seeing on the mirror. Keep it up!
augenblick, as you can see my shred got bumped this past week, but i'll try harder this coming week. I've set my goal weight for 150, but it's hard to set the goal now that I'm in my 40s and the weight distributes differently from when I was younger. My lowest weight ever was 127 and I looked awesome, but I was in my 20s then and I think that's too low for me now. I'm already very comfortable at my actual weight. I'll keep going like that and see how it goes. Around 150lb seems good, so I still have about 30lbs to go. But after losing over 70lb, I feel very confident I can do this. And I've never been as fit as I am now.![]()
yay, 20days of shred! 10 more to go, but I'm still doing only workouts 1 and 2. So I think I'm ready for workout 3. I'll try.
I can't believe I haven't shredded since Feb 18! But I've been active doing C25K (week9 now!), weights and I also started the onehundred pushup program. I must say that the shred freatly improved my upper body strength and I could do 17 pushups in a row. Now back at the shred, my 21st day, workout 1. I seem to avoid workout 3 completely since my first try! This thread is dying
