Anyone here ACTUALLY pretty overweight?

Quote  |  Reply
I think its great and all that people are trying to reach their goals of 5-10lbs off by summertime... but is anyone here looking to lose 50-100lbs? I'm trying to lose 80lbs as my overall GOAL which will take a long time. I'm 250 and want to be back to 170 where I was 2 years ago. Lookin' for some people who are trying to do the same and would like to chat occasionally online to see how we are doing and motivate each other. Finally I've decided I gotta do something about this because I keep slacking and saying I'll start Monday. My problem was I became a pretty heavy drinker of whiskey... probably around 750ml a week or a little more if i go out drinkin' on the weekend too. So I promised myself I would stop and only drink on the weekends if at all! So hit me up if ya want. Anyone got any good meal plans for the week that can work if I have a fulltime job?

there are lots of us actually.  I need to loose 60-70 and I am not alone...lots that need to loose 100 and some that HAVE lost 100!

Welcome!

I'm one of them ! I joined on Jan 11th and have lost 25lbs so far but have another 95lbs to go. My main problem was wine which I have cut down on dramatically !

Good luck to you.

Yes, there are several groups of people trying to lose a large amount. I just saw a post for teens wanting to lose around 100 lb. The definition of overweight is tricky. Try starting a thread like "lose 100 lb club" or "looking for those wanting to lose 80+ lb."

PLENTY OF COMPANY!  Depending on what "expert" you consult, I have 40-60 pounds to lose.  I am currently 186, and according to this site and BMI I should be aiming for 130.  With my HUGE bone frame, that is totally unrealistic as far as I and my husband are concerned (the only time that I was 130, my mother wanted to put me in the hospital because I APPEARED to weight an unhealthy 105-110).  My problem was also partially based on booze, too..... my hubby and I loved to drink embarassing amounts of beer together.  Well, that lifestyle not only left me with all this extra weight, and unable to lose weight after having my son, but also left me with some seriously skewed liver panel results and stroke-range cholesterol.  Supposedly the first priority behind my calorie counting and dieting is to lower the cholesterol as soon as possible and avoid cholesterol-reducing medication, but I want SO badly to lose some of this padding that I feel is suffocating me!

yep i am verry overweight - about 114kg-ish trying to get down to about 60ish (we'll see when we get there, hehe)

my weight gain was primarily PCOS related, and it's proving quite difficult to shift it, despite working out religiously 5 days a week and eating very healthily (i have found i need to eat MORE lately, i was never a huge eater, people are always surprised at that :( )

i just need to remember, it's only been a month, and i started at 117kg (it makes me ill to type that number, omg!), so things ARE happening - it's just slow :(

so yeah, i'll join yr group :) we can all support each other!

meanwhile, i'm off to tae bo, lol.

I USED to be PRETTY overweight. But I've lost 170 pounds. Does that count?

that is freakin amazing! nice work!!!!

how'd you do it?

I want to loose 56lbs.  I let myself go over the last year, due to stress & depression, turning to food and alcohol.  I've finally realised I need to be healthy, loose weight and get my life back.

I'm a big motherplucker! I'm a 5' 11.5" guy and I weighed in at about  265 lbs three weeks ago. I've been on a diet since and have probably come down to about 255 lbs.

I'm very interested in joining you in your endevour.

I like your term pretty overweight much better than some i've heard! I would say i'm pretty overweight :P. I started at 277 jan 26 and i'm down to 255ish now. I want to get down to 135. I'm 30 and 5'1". Feel free to say hi if you'd like to chat!

I counted, and was very very patient ;) It doesn't happen over night.

By the time I'm done losing I'll have lost 100 pounds even.  So far I'm down 72 pounds.

I've got 90 some odd lbs to lose, so its pretty common :)

I've got about 70 lbs to get to where I want to be.  I think there are a lot of folks here in our boats~
According to this site, I need to lose 54 more pounds.  (I have lost maybe 15 so far.)  I think it is about right.  We are in for a long journey here.

I'm in the same boat as you .. I started on Jan 16 with a weight of 263.5 ... I set my first primary goal as 200 lbs even though according to the site I should be around the 175 - 190 range

I not only work full time job, but I work 3rd shift, so that makes things fun considering that some things I eat while I'm awake are on one day, and the rest are on the next ... that whole midnight line

CC members are all sizes and face their own challenges, whether it's losing a stubborn 10 pounds, or losing 100 or more.  Here's some inspiration for you

Have you lost 100 pounds?

I have a lot of weight to lose also.  I'm 6' tall and 249 pounds so I have a ways to go but I will get below 200 pounds.
Me Me.  I have 63 lbs left to lose I'm down 7 so far.  I'm 5'3" starting at 195 and currently 187.
I would love to lose 100 lbs. But my goal is to lose 60 by September then work my way down. Good luck.
