Does anyone here actually put up a picture to...
Obtain weight loss goals?
I've heard of many women hanging pictures of celebrities whose bodies they admire on the refridgerator or on their bedroom wall.
Then there's the classic *fat* picture a woman puts up to remind herself of how she doesn't want to be anymore.
Which of these do you do? Or do you do neither?
I've been thinking about cutting out some of the pictures of the Victoria's Secret catalog up to motivate me although I can't put them on the refrigerator since it's my fiance's family's home...and I could put them on the bedroom wall, but then they might suspect I may be turning into a lezbo. LMAO.
i have a little secret food journal and on some of the pages i have pictures of models (not the creepy thin ones) from magazines and tape them on there. this way i log in what i eat throughout the day, and flip to the back if i need some inspiration/motivation!
neither. it's not that big a part of my life.
Funny that you would post that. I was cleaning this week and came accross a picture taken at the beginning of the 07-08 school year. It was a picture of myself when I weighed 226. It was a really horrible picture and I look fat and bloated. I stuck it on the refrigerator along with a recent picture (where I look great) and look at them every morning. It is a great motivator for me to get going!
haha I have a victoria secret model as my back ground so i keep motivated!
I, however, just refuse to have pictures taken of me and I know I'll never look like most celebrities so I don't see the point.
Well, I took a mini poster board and made a Future Focus Vision Board. I have..
Dr Ian K. Smith the autor of "The Fat Smash Diet". Mary J Blige, A model.. I don't know who she is, but her body is more on my size and vision style. 2 Women Boxers A chick doing some exercise moves, and a Woman who had the same height and weight as me success story. Then I Picture of me before I got fat, and one of me being fat. Then I have future Goal weights along the side of each one of the pics. And I push myself to get to where I want to be. Both lady boxers has there nice arms. One has very big arms and the other has these nice tone arms. Like a woman should have.. Then the one with the big arms has these big AZZ quads. I really love her legs. So tone and muscle looking.. SO I work out hard to get the body I want, and use these pictures as a guide to how I want each part of my body to look. Sounds dumb, but its been working.
I took my original pic (about a size 12), then went into photoshop and photoshopped shrinkage on my own body! Then, I put that up. I'm not someone else, so it's still my own body, but without as much boob fat, arm fat, stomach fat, and leg fat. I got down to a size 4 and looked very similar to the picture. I've slacked off a lot lately, so I don't look quite like that, but not too terrible. The pic of me looking toned was a great inspiration!
I have a cheap photo album that i cut up pictures in magainzes and put them in it. Its my "THIN-SPRIATION" book.
Anytime i think im forgetting what i want, i just look through there.
I tried putting skinny pretty girls on the fridge...all it did was piss me off and eat more. lol so when I was really working on losing weight...this last go around (before I got preggo) I put my fat picture on the fridge. It helped me not want to look that way. I also would write myself little notes...like good job....blah blah blah. And I never kept junk food in the house...that way if I wanted to binge...it would have to be on something healthy.
I go with the skinny Victoria's Secret models. I constantly google Alessandra Ambrosio and Miranda Kerr. I have some picture on my latest journal entry too ;D Fat pictures of me don't really motivate me for some reason. I just love looking at what I want to be.
I say hang up those VS model pictures! Who cares if your family thinks your a lezbo! Lol, as long as it motivates you :) You can just keep them in your computer cuz that's what I do. Good luck!
i love allessandra! shes so beautiful!
I have a "fat" picture of me hanging up next to the mirror where I get dressed at. It's just about the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing I see at night. I don't want to put up a picture of a celebrity or model, as I will never look like them, no matter what I do. I can make a comparison of fatty in the picture to how I look right now and be happy, knowing that it'll only get better. ![]()

I do the same thing....Then right next to it I put up a pic of me and my favorite band Small Town Sleeper...I love them to death and I got to meet them...hang out with them and go out to breakfast with them. I love that pic because I am so incredibly happy and I know that I would have NEVER met them had I not lost weight..I would have been to self-concious to meet them...I most likely wouldn't even know about them had it not been for me losing weight. I found out about them on the Daughtry boards after I met the drummer and lead guitarist for Daughtry in April.
Visual images can be extremely good motivators. You've all heard "you are what you eat". Well, it's also true that "you are what you think".
Think about it, if you have some injustice done to you early in the morning (your car wont start, your hot water wont work, you're late to work b/c you had to stop for gas...etc)... If you have a habit of complaining about these things or dwelling on them all day - You're automatically going to have a bad day. Based entirely on one single incident that probably happened hours before hand.
However, if you choose to let it go, and think about positive things rather than negative... You're day is much more likely to go well.
I haven't read it, but The Secret talks about these things in detail. They suggest to think about what you want instead of what you dont want. IE; instead of thinking "I'm never going to get out of debt" - Think, "I want to earn 50k in 2010". The Secret apparently also highly suggests a vision board. Constructed of all the things you want in your life. Everything from income, to family, health, house, etc.
Anyhow. Forgive my ramblings. I do use pictures as motivators. I've gained 30 lbs in the last 5 years. I keep a picture of myself from that time taped onto the monitor of my computer. I spend most of my time here, so I see it all the time. I've also got a current picture of myself, and when I see it it reminds me that I want to lose that weight.
i have a small notebook that's part food journal, part workout journal. i've got two pictures taped to the inside of the front cover that i use to keep my butt moving when i want to punk out at the gym. it's worked so far. it's also nice to have a pic of what i want to look like & be able to pinpoint what execises i should be doing to get those muscles.
oh yeah, I have two pics in "my pics" of women I like to look like. Then there is the pic of monica brant on my background/screensaver. I also have a ton of WW1/2 pin up girls (they are like thosedrawn ones) but they are the stregnth pics (??) and while I am sure my landlord might think it was funny while he was here helping me with my computer, especially since he's foreign so this must be so weird for him, I think he understood... if not it's pretty funny to me at least! LOL!!!!
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
