Anyone anoyed at the super metabolism girls?

Its just not fair!! I knowthis girl she's like 5 5 or 5 6 and she has not fat al all, she's like the thin & tall model type but she eats like she's starving, chese, sour cream eggs everything and anything, we like in a doorm and there's times I've seen her eating tubes of icecream at like 11 pm just watching a movie with other girls.

 

Makes me mad, how do this lucky people obtain such a high metabolism!!!!Yell

Look at it this way - since your metabolism isn't so high, you'll learn moderation early and integrate it into your lifestyle now. So when those girls are 25-30, and their fast metabolism goes away, they'll either have to learn quick how to moderate, or gain all the weight that they didn't when they were young. And you will be slender and happy.

Or who knows? Maybe she's very active, goes to the gym and does lots of physical things that afford her such treats?

Omg! ik what you mean! The only reason i'm skinny is because of portion control..

I have this friend who is 5'5 and wicked skinny. I mean really really skinny to the point where she looks anorexic, and she eats so SOOO much!!! Once at a dinner party, she ate 6 slices of cheese pizza (the stuffed crust kind), two glasses of coke (or was it sprite?), 2 slices of cake, and 1 chocolate and 1 banana muffin!!!!! I don't even want to know how many calories she consumed....especially since she claimed she had just eatin lunch when she came....

I'm in awe of her...and a little jealous..lol!

You might not know the whole story. Because you're not following her around all day (I'm assuming), you might not know how active she is. It might seem that she's eating like she's starving because she really is hungry and eats her food at night, in your dorm room.

Or she could just have a high metabolism. No reason to begrudge her of that. It'll change and she'll have to make changes. Lots of young people eat that way. Don't get angry and just work on yourself. :)

In my late teens/early twenties I weighed in around 142 lbs at 5'9 and considered myself fit but ate like a horse thanks to a heavy exercise routine. I ate whatever I felt like and it was not healthy! However, it didn't show on my figure... well, not until I had to cut back on my workout time when I was around 24-25 and I quickly gained 30 lbs.

Now I consider it a blessing that I did gain weight so that I became more conscious of what I'm eating. Looking at how I eat then vs now I do not envy my old self or girls who can stuff themselves without it showing - because it's not a healthy lifestyle whether it shows on the figure or not. Practicing self-control is worth so much more to me than getting to eat unhealthy food.

Unfortunate fact of life.   My brother was like this, could eat 3 big mac combos in a go and that was just a snack.  He was 6ft 3 and never strayed from skinny.  Until he hit his 30's!  Then he pilled on the stomach fat and struggled after having eaten so much to having to actually watch what he ate.  So you  may find this girl goes through the same changes as she gets older and her metabolism naturally slows.

Also, I have a girl I work with who is super skinny, barely 50kg.  She claims that she eats everything she wants and will have chips, dip and rubbish whilst at work but in talking to her the other day she commented that she got to dinner time on Saturday and (giggle like a blonde) realised she hadn't eaten anything all day and so had a piece of toast.  And that she does this a lot.

So don't automatically assume that just because you see her eating 1000 cals in a hit that she actually eats anything else when you are not around lol.

No offense to blondes intended as I am a bottle one!

I remember reading that only about 1% of people naturally have a very fast metabolism.  Most of the people who seem to have a very fast metabolism either eat less then you realize or exercise more then you realize, probably because you are not around them all the time.  Its also possible that while you see them eating a lot, they tend to eat a lot of the foods that boost your metabolism.  Or it could be that they generally eat a lot of food all day long which keeps the metabolism running, but in the end what they eat doesnt total to a massive amount of calories on most days.
