Anyone aprox 5'6 in their 20's wanting to lose weight?
2 years ago I weighed 135 pounds. Then I got married and gained allot of weight! My life style seemed to change, I started loving food, I gave up the fight and now I know I need to get back on the band wagon!
I am 5'6. I feel really good when I am around 130-135 pounds. The lowest I will go is 125. No lower. I have a medium build. So I know I cannot go to to small.
My goal is to lose all my weight by next summer. I would like to be approx 130ish in weight, feel good about myself and fit in all my skinny clothes again (right now I don't fit in almost all of my clothes and I refuse to by bigger clothes. So I am stuck with wearing hoodies to cover everything.)
I need to meet others like me who are struggling as well but need someone to help them along..because I know thats what I need as well. So please if you have read this board and you feel like you fit in this category then please post here or contact me.
We can help each other to reach our goals! :)
some people are very particular about spelling on here. its kinda retarded.
Thanks for posting on my board. :)
Do you have a set goal as to when you would like to have the weight lost? Mine is for next summer for sure. I have more then 15 so it will take me a bit longer. lol
i dont really have a set goal. i wish i did. but at the moment im having problems with alcoholism, so that makes it kinda tough to stay within my calorie range. just trying to stay on track and quit the booze.
2 years ago i was 150 and lost 20 lbs in one summer just eating right and playing dance dance revlolution. kinda nerdy i know. :) but it worked. whats your plan of attack?
Hey! I'm 20 and want to lose some pounds! I am currently 140ish, would like to be 130, maybe 125 if possible. A support group sounds good to hold each other accountable. Goal date is september 13th for 135, then re-assess from there for each 5 pound loss.
priceless7, i've had some problems with alcohol as well, and my brother is a recovering alcoholic, just so you know i am here if ya wanted some support.
what should we do as far as checking in? maybe once a week or something? or just whenever we feel like it?
once a week sounds good, or whenever. we could report to each other how we have improved and help support each other. im headed to hawaii oct 1 so i would LOVE to lose some lbs by then.
I am 20 and 5'6 and am now at 133ish trying to lose 5-10 pounds. I always struggle with gaining 5-10 pounds during a college semester. I am a medium frame as well and agree that I feel best 125-130!
We can do it :)
I'm 27, 5'7", and about 168. I'm trying for about the same target weight as you. I'm also married and have gained a significant amount of weight since we got married.
I totally know how you feel, especially because my husband has no need for exercise (skinny as a rail, eats a ton, and does physical labor all day) so he never exercises with me. I need all the support I can get! :)
yay!
ive come to the right forum today! haha
everyone i feel the same wayy
130-135 would be great for me right now im about 157 so i'd totally be fine with getting down to 145 but you know how it is, takes some time
but thats why there is goals aye?
<3 itttt
I started out at ~155 too! 130-135 is a good weight for 5'6
yayers
Hi, Im 21, 5ft 7 and im about 140ish - i would like to loose ten lb to be around 130ish. Since getting a house with my boyfriend i have put on the 10lb and would love to shift it.
xxx
I'm 23 and 5ft 7. I'm a little over 140 at the moment, but I'm really small framed and so could stand to loose another 10 lb or so. I've lost a lot this past year through ill health but now I'm better I really don't want to put any back on.
Looks like I came to the right forum today!
Thanks to everyone who posted here! I am sure we can support each other and give each other ideas and tips on what helps us to loose weight.
Priceless7- You are not nerdy to have a ddr mat! I also have one..the only thing I find is I get really tired of the songs on my two games I have..I wish you could pick your own music! lol I find it gets me having fun and burning calories though for the DDR. Worth it! I actually heard of the DDR through here and decided to buy one for my PSP2.
So what does everyone do for working out? Also anyone have ideas on any snacks that are around 150 calories and less or meal plan idea's for weekly schedules?
I'm right here with you guys! I'm about 5'6 1/2" and right now weigh 138 lbs. I was doing great and staying at 132 lbs but this summer I've put on a little more. Now I really want to lose a few pounds to get down to 130 lbs.
It's especially difficult right now because even though I just graduated from school, I'm still living with my parents this summer before moving out of the country next month. So I'm really forced to eat what my family eats (although I'm getting better at portions and try to stay away from anything *too* bad). Still, it's hard when all these delicious sweets (my weakness!!) are around.
Snack Ideas: Jell-O brand makes these amazing vanilla-chocolate swirl 100 calorie packs of pudding; they are fat free and DELICIOUS, in my opinion! I eat one of those with GRAHAM CRACKERS almost every afternoon; I love graham crackers, they make low-fat cinnamon ones now that are 130 calories per serving (15 fat cals only!, serving is like 2 whole cracker squares.) Oreo 100 Calorie packs and all of those different kinds are yummy, too.
Bananas are always a great snack as well. For mid-morning snacks, I eat Quaker brand granola bars a lot.
Go to the recipe section of CC, they have TONS of great meal/snack recipes here; I've tried so many and they've all been GREAT - and healthy!!
Wow, I really need this right now...I'm 29, 5'6" and 132lbs trying to shave off the last 7 or so (small frame). I was SOOO close, down to 127 when suddenly mid-summer hit and vacations started and all my progress went out the window as I ate out in unfamiliar cities, went camping/floating, and now my birthday is next week (the big 3-0) and I know there's a party being planned, and dinners, and I just can't stand the idea of my whole summer of hard work being ruined over 3 weeks!!!!
Ok guys...strength...I need strength. How do I decline a slice of birthday cake (carrot w/ cream cheese frosting, it really is my favorite) someone home-baked for me, or a slice of lasagna from a friend I see twice a year, or an after-work ice cream with the guys in the office (I work with all guys) as my "big birthday" salute? I can't say I'm still dieting...they'd all laugh since I'm not the 210 lbs I used to be, so they think I should be "done." Guess Sept. will be the month for restitution after August seriously sets me back...(btw I know to eat in moderation when it's the bad stuff, but even a small piece of my friend's awesome lasagna is like 500 calories...). I feel doomed...
Suggestions re: the cake and lasagna. Maybe just take a couple of bites. Eating a small piece of lasagna and then adjusting the rest of your day's diet around that might be an easy solution, since it is only one day and not all the time. Same goes for the cake--just take a few bites and compliment your friend on how delicious it is. There's no reason to explain why you won't/can't eat more. :)
Just a thought...
Hey everyone! I came to the right place I think...
Age: 21
Height: 5'6"
Current Weight: 180
Goal Weight: 130
I'd love a buddy or something on here so we could support one another. I would love to lose 30-35 pounds by Christmas -- I hope that's not too ambitious! :)
The website told me that it's too ambitios to try to lose 37 lbs by Christmas, but I think I can do it anyway, if I work my butt off!!
I'm totally with you!

That's a tough one. I would have to agree with rubyblue12 and just take it easy on it. OR you can just work out extra for a couple of days after that.
I ate a philly cheesesteak sandwich yesterday which I found out was 734 calories!! Yikes! I felt so bloated afterward, but I walked 4 miles last night and I feel great today. I've even lost a pound since!
