Has anyone attended UC Davis??

Quote  |  Reply

It's one of my top college choices and I was wondering if anybody has gone there?

If you have, did you like it or would you suggest going there??

I'm nervous about getting in though because I live in Oregon and they choose Californians before anybody else..

I haven't been, but my Aunt went there for her undergrad and Vet school like 30 years ago. She said it was really good and she still donates because she thinks they have really good programs. Good luck!

I did! I went there for my psych degree. It's really big on agriculture so if you want to go for vet school or anything like that, then it's a great choice. It's a great atmosphere and campus. the town is pretty decent. It's a smaller town, so you can ride your bike or take the bus everywhere.

what are you planning on studying?

I actually want to go into nutrition since thats like all I ever think about anyway :) lol

I only took one short course there for a USDA requirement for my work.  The area is very Agricultural, the campus is easy to navigate, and everyone is very liberal and layed back.  The Davis area is near Sacramento and Napa and really lovely.  Hope that helps.

It  depends what you go there for.  They have a great agricultural program (and wine business).  however, it is pretty much a college town in the middle of nowhere, so it you're looking for culture beyond the traditional college town atmosphere you probably aren't going to find it.

there is a really good nutrition program. I've known people who have doen some aspect of that major. The intro nutrition classs is tough to get into b/c it's so popular, but if you're a nutrition major you shouldnt have a problem. That teacher is a total B too. But I think once you get past her it will be muhc more enjoyable lol.

and yes, the town is a little separated. But it's only 10 minutes to downtown sacramento, so find someone with a car or take the bus and your options of things to do significantly increased.

How can I make walking fun?

You have to find a way to make exercise fun or else you won't do it. If you walk indoors on a treadmill, I recommend moving outdoors into the fresh air... Read more
