Has anyone here had a breast lift?

Quote  |  Reply

So... I lost around 40 pounds 2 years ago (I have been maintaining for over a year and a half how), and as a result of my weight loss, my breasts are much saggier and misshaped. Undecided I have been thinking about getting breast lift surgery for awhile now, but I am pretty apprehensive about getting it. Has anyone here ever had this procedure done before? If so, were you happy with the results??

My boobs can use some perk, too

Bump!

Don't you mean "Perk!"?

Seems like no one is willing to discuss their boob job, I'd be interested in a first hand account too.

No kidding! Don't be shy now, ladies! Wink

I've had a breast reduction combined with a brest lift.  Easy, relatively pain free

and no more back aches.  Love having the girls where they belong.

Thanks for sharing, dis

I'd be interested in hearing more this surgery too, probably will need it once my hubby and I have some kids!

People seem to hold back when they've had plastic surgery...not sure why...if I had some and it turned out great (or horribly) I'd be telling everybody, lol...I tend to be an open book though (on most subjects) and I know others can be really private *shrugs*

I have no prob telling any woman about this.  It alleviates so much back pain as well, it is really a blessing.  Our med will pay for it if the doctor decides you need a reduction.

Alas "unappealing sagging" is not a medical need according to my insurance.

:(

, I had to get a breast reduction because I had a lot of fiborus cysts and part of the procedure included a breast lift.  I couldn't be happier.  I no longer need  2 sports bras when I run.  My boobs don't make funny nosies when I go down the stairs in my PJ.s and the most fun is my nipples don't point towards the floor anymore!.    Like Dis said, it was pretty easy, and pain free (I have a huge pain tolerance)  The only thing I have to tell you (sorry if this is 2 much TMI) is that my nips are not as sensitve as they used to be and they are pretty much always at attention if you know what I mean.

Maybe complain about the skin under your boobs getting irritated.

It is obviously a cosmetic surgery. No insurance company will pay for it.

But if it was causing her medical problems, then an insurance would most likely cover it. I know you can get loose skin removed if it causes skin problems (rashes etc) covered by health insurance.

I mean, what if it causes you discomfort simply because of it's sagging? Like back/shoulder pain?

Ha. Wish I had that problem!

I've considered this surgery for myself for later down the road. Due to my MANY weight fluctuations from being massively underweight from my ED a few years back to gaining a lot and becoming overweight in a short amount of time from having BED then losing it again my boobs have been through a whirlwind. Lmao! I'm only 22, but from everything my poor boobs have suffered and I'm already experiencing significant sagging. Which is a bummer. I don't even want to know what future childbirth will bring. Heh.

It sucks that insurance would never cover such a thing as many of us don't have that kind of money, then you have the scary part with so many messed up surgeries out there as well. If I never get the surgery I guess I'll just have to embrace what I have it's not like I'm going to Mardi Gras to flash what I have. HA HA.

But, it would be nice to get it done to feel more *complete.* One complaint, after another huh? It's funny how we work, no matter how much we accomplish we ALWAYS find a flaw in something. Can't we every just be happy with what we have? I wish I could be, maybe we take it for granted. Heh.

What kept me going the fisrt few months was the hopes of getting a reduction/lift when I reach and maintain my weight loss. I started looking into it, and found out our insurance covers it...so I called the doctors and found out that insurance only covers it if you have years of recorded problems due to your breats. Also they have to take a certain ammount out to satisfy the insurance company.....in other words, unlikely to be covered if you are not lugging around watermelons. Plus, the surgery cost 14,000.00 through insurance and 7,000.00 without insurance. (where I checked) So...now I realise I still want it done.....just have to save my pennies, and I also want to get to my goal weight and stay there a year before I do it.

I most likely wouldn't get it done for another 2-3 years, as the cost plays a HUGE factor. I talked to a nurse at a cosmetic surgery center in my area, and they said the total breast lift procedure would be about $7k. I know various centers offer payment plans, but I want to wait until I am more financially secure to get something so costly.
