Anyone buy charms yet?

Quote  |  Reply
Hey all :) Just wondering if any of you have purchased charms yet and what you actually ended up deciding on?

I still have my bracelet and nothing on it yet :(  I keep it hanging where I can see it though and I am going to put stuff on it one of these days :P lol.

I am getting closer and closer to goal and my new tattoo - can't wait for that :)

I owe myself 7 charms too... still gotta figure out what to get :) hoping some of you all will give me some ideas maybe :) lol

Christins, what kind of tattoo are you getting? I have two and I can't wait to get a third!

And I have no idea what charms are - are they for sale in the merchandise section?
I wear my bracelet all the time and tell everyone where I got it!! (wearing it as I type..) But I haven't bought any charms yet..I WILL, I promise..I HAD earned my 7th charm (till spring break..) but Im just 1lb off earning it BACK! LOL..thanks christin..hope you are well, Been thinking about you alot!
I'm a half a pound away from earning my third charm, though I haven't bought any yet.  I'm doing one charm for every 5 lbs- what are you guys using for increments?

I'm also having each charm represent one person in my life who's supported me either directly or indirectly to achieve my goals, starting with my mom (a thimble), dad (the thinker statue), and brother (a little hardhat- an inside joke).

Still to come:  2 best friends (a peace sign and a peanut), mom's side (a canoe) and dad's side (a pretzel) of the family, and then me (a running shoe)!  All together 40 lbs!  15 down, 25 to go!  Wow, that doesn't sound so bad at all!
Im also doing every 5 lbs..I have 60lbs total to lose I wouldn't be able to lift my wrist at 1=lb!! I'm looking for mini weights and apples kinda thing..maybe a couple of silver C's for this site and a couple silver W's for the weight watchers cakes I eat all the time..LOL I should "re-earn" my 7th this week!!!
arizona.... at the end of Jan. christins got a great deal on charm bracelets and gave them out to anyone that wanted them.  For every 5lbs we add a charm...we have to buy the charms.  It was a great motivator for alot of us!  I need to add 4 charms, my first I know will be a barbell for my exercising that has put me where I am today....one more for my family, not sure on the others.
I have a confession to make. The day that I went out n bought charms for my bracelet, 5 minutes after I got back from shopping, my sister asked to see my bracelet and the charms. So I handed 'em to her (she was sitting on the floor by our fireplace). She set the charms on the fireplace after she was done, and did the same with the bracelet. WELL ... our fireplace is old, and there's a big crack in it. Needless to say ... my bracelet is now residing in the unreachable pit. ::sigh:: It honestly was an accident, but ... I was still mad, lol. Even though it's not your bracelet that I'm wearing, Christin, I still thank you for sending it, you are a very, very sweet person.

Anyway, I've got a new bracelet with 4 charms on it. I'm doing one for every 10-pound loss, plus one for my halfway point because it's such a huge milestone. I'm due for another one in another pound n a half. The one I'll be getting soon is a dog ... representing both the dog that I lost last summer (my Buffy that I've had since I was 4), and the job at pet supplies plus where I unintentionally lost my first 10 pounds. I'd wanted the dog as my first charm, but i couldn't find one anywhere.

So far I've got a cherub angel and a cross, both self-explanatory. I've got a frog, representing my overweight childhood (I used to go out looking for frogs and play with them), and a butterfly that represents the changes that I'm going through and the beauty that I will eventually become once my bracelet is full.
Love the butterfly one! you and I wouldnt have been good together as kids...ready for this one!  I have a fear of frogs!  Ok I know everyone is laughing so hard right now but its no joke!  I grew up in the country too but I have always been terrified of frogs.  I will not step outside if one is on the porch or anywhere is eyesight.  I live on a lake and the sound of them drives me insane! my nephews thought it was funny until they put one on me, thought I was going to have a heartattack.  Im learning to be better about it!  There my secret is out!!!! Im not perfect!!! go ahead with the "LMAO" and the "ROFL"
Lol, oh slappy ... I would catch the frogs for you, it's ok.

There was a centipede in my apartment the other day and my roommate had a friend over. I'd never met the guy before, but it didn't stop me from askin' him to "come here with your shoe, hurry!" Lol, he picked the thing up n took it outside! ::shivers:: So gross!
spiders. i shiver just thinking about them.. and clowns.. i HATE clowns!  i don't have a charm bracelet so i can't add to that discussion.. but thought i'd put my 2 cents in for the what do i fear thing.. haha. :)
Spiders are my intense fear as well ... my yahoo name is spiderphobic32 LOL. I won't even get close enough to them to kill them, it's that bad.

You should definitely get a bracelet. The one I got, I got it at Walmart, it had the cherub angel charm on it already ... it was only $10, and the charms I've gotten were around $5 each. Not bad for a hugely motivating object that goes everywhere with you each and every day and to every meal and to every workout session. Mine's on my right wrist, and since I'm right-handed, I can't put it back on by myself ... so needless to say, it doesnt' come off lol.
thanks guys for not laughing!  I swear I think my brothers tortured me as a child with frogs.  Thank God I didnt have to kiss one to find my prince!
Readnchick :) lol I've lost many a piece of jewelry to bottomless pits in my day - no worries :) just glad you got another one you enjoy and are going to fill it up with cool inspirations...

tracymarie - I'm getting a great horned owl sitting on a branch in the moonlight on the back of my shoulder.  Owl is my spirit totem/guardian and the moonlight represents wisdom/inner knowing that sort of thing :)   I have another more generic rose tattoo I got when I was 18 to p*** my mom off ;) it worked lol.  Seriously I've always loved body art though and just haven't done much because a) it's expensive and b) I haven't been very proud of my body much until lately :)

christins73 we have something in common i to love body art. so far i have 14 tatts. mostly disney. i am working on a back piece right now. It will have 42 different things when i'm done. all disney
wow tat, that sounds cool, but painful lol.

My first one was on the chest, so being on the breast it didn't hurt much.  I am a bit worried the back of the shoulder might hurt, I may decide to move it over between my shoulder blades and down a bit so I can show it if I want, but still wear somethings where it doesn't show... haven't decided :)

I like disney stuff too, but I don't think enough to get my whole back done :) you're very brave :)  I had thought about getting a band around my ankle at one point, but decided against it because I heard that really hurts.

Do the ones on the back hurt more since there is less fleshy parts there??
I'm a complete geek and in keeping with that my next tattoo will be from a video game. It's also my birthstone - a sapphire.

Here is a picture - I finally got the link to work.

much smaller than that, of course! It will be on the inside of my wrist.

My other two are on the back of my neck and behind my left ear. I was told the ear one would hurt but it didn't. I got both tattoos in the same visit so by the time he was done with the neck, my adrenaline was rushing and the ear was like nothing.

I like that sapphire, pretty cool :)

Glad the ear one didn't hurt, it does sound like it could though that's for sure :)

tracy. what game is that from? looks familiar
obsidyan it is from The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time - one of my all time favorite games. It was on the Nintendo 64, originally, but they released an edition for the Gamecube as well.
