Apart from obvious solutions like Alka Seltzer-type of drugs - for me fruit juices work fine. And i know quite a few people who are "cured" by scrambled eggs. Personally i have never tried beating hangover with more alcohol, but apparently it works for some people too.

That said, I must confess i haven't had a hangover for quite a long time. I deliberately avoid alcohol, not because i don't like it (on the contrary, and as a student i used to enjoy A LOT of it) or because of calorie counting, but some time ago i noticed that my hangovers are getting more and more terrible and unbearable. Even if i drink a moderate amount, next morning i feel like something that has been vomited by a sick dog, run over by a car, rained on and wanting to die. Perhaps it's an ageing thing... well, 28 is a pretty serious age Laughing

Anyway, keeping my fingers crossed for you!

water water water....and/or coffee!

I think I'm getting to that point (where I drink less and the hangovers hurt more).  I mean I wasn't excessive at all last  night but for some reason (perhaps its the lack of breads/carbs in my diet) its just not sitting right.  lol.

Hangover = dehydration.  Next time drink a glass of water for every drink you have and you will avoid the hangover altogether! I haven't had a hang over for years using this method  Laughing

Yep....Gatorade works for me. Also, I avoid my usual coffee in the morning because it makes it so much worse. I was fooled  a few times thinking I could function and then I had my coffee.....It ended up triggering a nasty hangover.

Whatever you do, if your tummy is queasy, don't drink o.j. You could end up barfin'.

Goody's headache powder and a gatorade. You'll feel like one million bucks.

Try a baked potato.  I have not drank in years.  It got to the point when ever I drank anything even two glasses of wine I would get a hangover.

toast with peanut (or another nut butter) and a tall glass of skim milk.  then drink lots of water throughout the day.

good luck!

I assume you're on some form ow low carb eating plan (which I am). Your body metabloses alcohol much slower without all the sugar - I guess the plus is that you also feel buzzed sooner, at least I do! any liquids with electrolytes will help, but if you don't want to have juice, just plainw ater will. I find that drinking the water before I sleep is particularly helpful, if you can remember to :-). Drink as much water as possible while you're drinking alcohol, and drink a full glass or two before you sleep. Cocunut water - if you can get your hands on one of these drinks like ZICO works like a charm, and are relatively low in sugar. Am from an island, and this was always the tried and tested hangover cure!

Hangover = withdrawl from alcohol, the best way to end the withdrawl symptoms is to drink more.

super B vitamins...they work wonders with a big glass of aqua

For me the cure is Zipfizz. It's a fizzy multi vitamin that has caffine, potassium, manesium, and sodium. Everything to kick dehydration quickly and it's 25% of your RDA vitamins. Except B12, its a mega shot of that too. 2500mcg to be precise.

Try a Prairie Oyster! Heard their great for hangovers. Been meaning to try one, but never got around to it. I heard a tip for getting this down the hatch is plugging your nose... Lol.

     1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
     1 tablespoon Tomato Juice
     1 whole Egg Yolk
     2 dashes Vinegar
     1 dash Pepper

Pour in order in a wine glass taking good care of not breaking the yolk.

ok - I'm going to go down the list and try each one - be back to report on how I feel.  Foot in mouth

lots of water, ginger ale or sprite, some motrin, and alot of rest

Old russian remedy-pickles and the juice that's left in the jar.

I personally prefer an extra spicy bloody mary.

egg drop soup

nicci - are you feeling any better yet?  It usually takes me 2 days to feel better after a night of drinking, I am so not a good drinker...haha!  But a very cheap date, as 3 beers or even worse 2 mixed drinks and I am done!  haha!
Research indicates there's no cure for a hangover.

That said, I'm all about coffee, ibuprofen, and bacon.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I had a baked potato for lunch (didn't set well but it stayed down)... then I had to go to a birthday party.  I thought I would try 'hair of the dog' and had a spicy bloody mary - two sips in and I put it down and went back to water.

I did the tylenol and water all day.

I got 8 hours of sleep last night.

I still feel it today!  Not sure if I am coming down with something... or perhaps something from the day before didn't  agree - but dammit.  I was so hoping to wake up and feel better today :(
