Anyone Doing Body For Life??
I started this program this week and wondered if anyone else out there uses some of the techniques.
I always pyramided my weight routines but the way he does it is proving to be a real challenge- in a good way though!!
I had been getting lazy and half hazard in my weight lifting routines and wasn't really making progress, but after yesterday I realized how bad I was getting.
I did start a Body for Life Group too if anyone is interested.
what is this body for life thing? im too lazy to read & interperet everything on their website. can you give me the jist?
BFL in a nutshell:
Weights 3x a week Cardio 3- First week do MON - upper body, tue card, wed- lowerbody, thur cardio, Fri upper sat cardio sunday rest
Weight lifting routines are use X weight do 12 reps add weight, do 10 reps, add weight do 8 reps add weight do 6 reps (this should be burning) then immediately do 12 reps again at the low weight then switch to another routine for the same muscle group and do 12 reps then switch to the next muscle group and do the 12,10,8,6 12 rep etc
Cardio is only 20 minutes 2min warm up then push to exertion level of 9 for 1 minute down to a 6 for a few minutes back up to 9 etc and then push to a level 10 for a minute and cool down so its sorta like a hiit / interval training routine.
food is high protein one portion of carb and protein each meal and serving of veggies at least 2 meals - 6 meals a day- portion are size of palm of hand or fist no "weighing" or measuring--0 Sunday is also "free day" to get cravings out of the way or whatever. You can also use the free day for like birthday's or special occassions.
That's about it in a nutshell. I think its similar in concept to the RFFL plan. Oh and the next week instead of starting with upper weight you do lower body.
Sometimes it's OK totext in a restaurant.
