Anyone doing SLIM IN 6?
I found Slim in 6 to be great for toning, it is not dreadfully hard to do. I did the 6 weeks and found my self toned! I looked great, I did the Slim and Six pack daily too which made my abs look decent. I have not done this in about 2 years now but would love to start it again, that is if i can get my girls to nap at the same time! Anyone doing it, or about to start it? I am ready for the 6 week challenge. I am eager to start but fear not following through... I know it works! I have seen results firsthand! I need a buddy!
aly, that's excellent!!!! Congrats and keep up the good work. I've been thinking of using dumbells for some exercises but I am still negotiating with myself. Now, after reading your post, I think I'll manage to convince my inner self... I have a question: how soon after you gave birth you started Si6? Can you do it like in 3-4 months or 1 year time? I'm just trying to plan my future. LOL
my first baby was about 8 or 9 months old, that was in 2004.
after my second I waited too long! (second was a c section) I started when she was just about 13 months. the way this program is designed i dont see why you couldnt begin it once your MD says you are cleared to resume usual activity (including sex)... generally after 6-8 weeks after delivery.

yeah, wow aly! i guess i need to bust out the measuring tape.
thanks everyone for input. i do use 5 pund dumbells instead of the resistance bands. maybe i will add the dumbells to the lunges and plies.

i just recieved my SI6 today WOOHOOO!! kind of excited it cant tell... so tommorow is gong to be day 1.. I will keep you everyone up to date
Thanks aly for the measurement guide. I took my measurements, but I notice as I re-measure that even if I slide the tape measure just a fraction up or down on my calves/thighs, it will give me different measurements. I wish I had somehow "marked" myself exactly where I measured.
Messam-Congrats on getting started! It's tough-I am on Day 8 so far-but I think it will be worth it!! Keep us updated!

Oh I'm so bummed. I might have to just do the arm exercises, resistance bands and so on for awhile. As I posted the other night, my left knee was giving me trouble. As I did my SI6 last night, I went to do my first lunge and my knee just had the worst pain shoot through it. So I finished the DVD as best as I could and iced me knee, but I am bummed. My legs truly need work so I'm not sure what I'm going to do. :(
took today off, had alot of running around to do, plus worked last night and back in again tonight at 8pm... Yuck! But I did go to my brothers and get BIU. Tomorrow I will begin that! Can't wait!
Jamie, really sorry about your knee. Take it easy... as Debbie says "you can always do the alternative movement!" :0) Hopefully a few days rest and some ice will help. Does it feel like joint pain or muscle pain? good luck!
Welcome messam!

jamie - aw... sorry for your knees, babe. You know that happened to me too when I started.
After you recover, try this:
Instead of doing active lunges, do static lunges. Basically you don't step forward/backward, but stand still with legs already in lunges position, and just lowered your body into the lunges movement. (If balance is still an issue, lightly rest one arm on a chair. If you want to add resistance, hold a dumbell in your hands). This is like the static lunges in BIU actually, except at this stage you are not raising your arms.
BTW, static lunges give the same result as regular lunges, and less straining on the knees.
This morning managed to squeeze in RIU (minus the crunches) since I didn't have time to do BIU. Will continue to do some resistance training later tonight (hopefully).

jamie: sorry to read about your knee. I know what it means, since I have problems with my knees as well (from my martial arts training). Do you usually have an issue with your knees? Or this is for the first time? Because if you usually do, you should see an MD. I know I am able to walk without pain due to the acupuncture sessions I went through. If this is something happening for the first time, use some joints ointment (sorry I can't give you names, they are different in my country I think) and take 2-3 days off from the Si6 (at least the leg part). Then try what sweet_tart told you to. For me the ice never worked on the knee... I hope next time you'll post you have some good news. Take care
Started BIU today. UGH! I forgot what it was all about... but it quickly came back to me... Ouch! Makes RIU seem like a cake walk!
Feels so good once it is over!

Tonight, regardless it was 8pm by the time we got home from walking in the mall, I changed to comfy clothes and immediately rolled out the exercise matt and popped in the SI6 DVD.
60 minutes later, I was dripping with sweat, feeling really good mentally and physically. This is just what I need after a week of roller coaster calo-ride (crazy week, I totally lost control of my CFF ratio).

I woke up feeling lousy, not that I had much sleep after working all night. I did manage to get about 3 hours in before my baby girls got antsy and wanted breakfast... So I crawled out of bed, nose running, head slamming and just plain feeling yucky and managed to get the day going. The girls were all settled in with toys and cartoons after breakfast so I figured I would give BIU a shot. I did the majority of it, but took frequent breaks to keep from falling over! Hope that tomorrow will be better! (me and the workout!)
aly, it's strange, but today I felt lousy as well! I have no night shift, no kids to cry for breakfast, no nothing, but after coming from work and having dinner I realy, really had to kick my butt to start my exercise! I wasn't feeling like it at all! But we have this saying "Crave comes while eating" (OK, not the smartest translation, but this is the meaning) so after I finished the BIU I went for the 6 pack as well and ended all up with the "limber bonus" - the streching! And after all that, around 22.30 I started cooking for tomorrow. LOL. Anyway, I feel very good and hope to put me back on track since the last few days I was realy bored of doing BIU... My motivation seems to have vanished.... (deep sigh) but I'll find it, I promise! (large smile on my face)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi there...Found your board and got very excited. I too started slim in 6 just completed start it up. I am staring BIU tonight. I was wondering if anyone knows how many calories are actually burned during these DVD's. I couldn't find that info on the site. Thanks in advance for any reply.
Welcome mmljulie :) Regarding total calories (of course it's going to be different for individuals) but, I thought someone who has HRM (I think waterphoenix?) was going to track the calories burned during the routine.
aly, monix, don't sweat it, ladies. We all have our 'slump' day :) Just pick it up again tomorrow. Sometimes there is no point of trudging the workout when your heart is not in it.
Monix, if BIU is getting redundant & I totally feel you in this because it happens to me too, go back to RIU and give it your 120% in each sets and form. Or assuming that by now you are familiar with all the sets in SI6, create your own exercise - just crank up the music and start dancing/moving incorporating the sets from SI6.
Won;t it be super if we all live close by and can do SI6 together as a group? ^_^
Anyway, today is my off from SI6. Just did intense cardio for 35 min at the gym. Tomorrow back to BIU.

sweet_tart: thx for the advice... I'd love to create my own routine, but, somehow, I feel I will use mostly the easiest movements...Hm, my conscience speaks loud, but not that loud!
I could not afford to allow me the slump day yesterday... It seems it's an on-going state of mind, so I would have allowed myself a slump day today, tomorrow and so fort...I preferred to kick myself in the butt to make sure I'll do my workout. And I think I'll go for martial arts practice twice a week, just to make sure BIU does not become a bore....

monix... i know what you mean about slump days. it is so easy to give in, putting off execise. As I rolled out of bed ths morning I thought.... ugh I am not up for anything today! But after I ate breakfast I feel much better. Going to give it my all...
hey everyone im doing slim in 6 too right now myself and i have gotten really good toning results !! im on my 4th week now so just 3 more weeks to go !!! it works..but are there any tips from any other long term users out there to get even mega stream results..?and what have been your results with the videos in the past?
Happy to say that I completed my BIU for today!
juanslady... I have not really used anything other than the SI6 series, but I have bought other DVDs that I played once or twice and decided they werent for me. I did buy from Beachbody the Great Body DVD, I think that is what it is called, I will look for it and let you know. It is short segments that focus on either butt or abs, arms or legs.... I found that one helpful a few years back, each segment was less than 15 min. Kinda blah atmosphere in the background but I guess that really isnt the reason I am watching it! It does target and tone if that is what you are looking for after completeing the SI6 series.
I was thinking once I am done with the whole 42 days, I am doing 42 days not counting any days off, I will continue to use the RIU and BIU , alternating. There is about 12 weeks until our trip, I AM GOING TO LOOK HOT!!! No reason not too! Giving it my all!
What is everybody doing for Valentine's Day? Eric and I are staying home. It is going to snow! How romantic! Plan on lighting the fireplace, home cooked meal, dessert and then... more dessert! :) He had roses delivered to me on Saturday! So pretty!
