Anyone doing SLIM IN 6?
I think I am getting the same results. I have been watching what I eat--alot. I've done the Special K cereal diet for the last 2 and half weeks. I lost 3 pounds first week, but I haven't gotten back on the scale b/c if I haven't lost more, or (gasp) even gained then I will give up. So I'm staying away from the scale. I am getting ready to do week 3 day 2 now. I am really thinking about doing an interval training workout that I've done in the past with excellent results. My goal is to keep doing something, an hour a day, 6 days a week. I hope you're right when you say it's impossible not to have results this way!!!!!
As long as we keep moving and pushing ourselves we'll start to see changes! (I hope)![]()
Off to push play--

Wow, I am sure glad to have stumbled on this forum!!
I just started Si6 three days ago and man do I feel it!! I was so sore after the first day and I made myself do it the second day - but I'm in too much pain to do it today lol. I have to admit that BIU sounds scary, I was having enough trouble keeping up with Debbie in SIU. ![]()
Reading through all of your posts has given me a renewed motivation to see this through, thanks to all of you for sharing!![]()
Welcome aboard Daydreamer! SIU is hard and I sure felt it at first too. Keep working through it and it will go away soon. Even if you can only do a few reps of each thing, I promise you'll feel better if you do it again. BUI is a killer but does build muscle. I think that's why you don't see a big weight loss at first b/c you're changing fat to muscle which weighs more. Can't wait to hear how you like it.
I did an old interval training tape last night instead of BIU just to do more cardio. I really enjoyed the change. It was about 45 minutes long and afterwards I did slim6pack and the arm section of BIU. I also did a few of the leg lifts. I may stick with this routine for a few days. i am really looking to burn some fat and I feel like my results are better with interval training. If anyone has any suggestions on a newer interval training video I'd love to hear about it.
Danielle only 1 more days to go!!! woooo hoooo!!
i have a couple question about slim in 6 that hopefully you can answer like :
do you have to work out for 45 mins or more everyday when you do it ?
is it really hard to do ? and do you need weights and stuff for it ?
some people could not finish the whole 6 wks, is is really tough? also, during the 6wks program, what if we have menstruation- do we continue the program as usual or we can slow down on those days? thanks a lot for any feedback!

The program starts with Start It Up which is about 30 minutes I think. You do that work out a few days until you feel ready to move forward. After that you do Ramp It Up which is about 45 minutes. It is basicly the same moves, just a little harder. I think it reccommends you do RIU for 2 weeks then move to Burn It Up to finish out the 6 weeks. BIU is still similar moves, just much more intense. It is a 60 minute work out. All the moves are designed to build muscle. How hard it is for you depends on your fitness level. Anyone can do it, some will just take longer to move through the phases. RIU and BIU use resistance bands or you can just use 3 to 5 pound weights. It's hard, but it does work.

I did not know anything about SI6, but reading all you guys' posts about it. it sounds really exciting. I already ordered it 3 days ago. I can't wait to receive it.

The program is tough but worth the effort. You will see results. No pain, no gain right?
If you feel like you need to take the program slower, or want to slow down on certain days you can. You should do something to keep moving even if you don't do the whole work out. There isn't alot of jumping around and dance moves so it is fairly easy in that regard, but the leg and arm muscles will defineatly know you've been working out!
Good luck and let us know what you think once you start!
one to go! yay for me. Now that I know more about that program, I think I'm going to do like you idgystripes, I'm going to alternate, one day of BIU and one day of cardio. I feel that when I have a day of break of BIU, I can put a lot more energy to it the next day. The second day in a row, I have a lack of energy, especially in the legs.
I'm wayting for my copy of turbo jam, it's a lot more cardio, i've tryed it before, I think it's going to be a litle more fun to.
I will certainely enjoy my week of no SI6, not that I dont like it, but I did more than 35 hours of it in the last 6 weeks...
but come one ! push play!
You should celebrate today! You did it! Six weeks--Congratulations! I skipped yesterdays work out. Life got in the way. But that's ok. I'm really looking forward to getting to it this afternoon. I am starting to see enough changes to make me really motivated to keep moving. My jeans are loose!!!! yay! I still want to get into by old pair from last year though, so I gotta go get moving!!
Congrats again Danielle.
Hello all -
Yes, I disappeared from the radar for a while. Had a small family crisis this past week, which took me away from home for a bit, so I had to take a few days off from SI6. I still managed to get in a few very short workouts, but I'm not counting the past few days as real workouts. I'm starting again at week 2, day 1 (SIU just doesn't seem enough anymore - starting with RIU). Idgy, I'll take your advice and mix up the workouts between SI6 and cardio - I was starting to feel a bit more muscle definition in the abs, but still couldn't see the difference - the fat was still on top of it! Also, I might take it down to 5 days a week - I'm not getting enough sleep during the week, and the workout energy is suffering.
Congrats to you Danielle - you've given me the incentive to continue on to the end of this, even if I slack off a while.
It's nice to see all the new names in the discussion - more people to keep up the motivation.
Thanks all -
Hey Chic- glad you're back! I second your statement: "s tarting to feel a bit more muscle definiton in the abs, but.....fat still on top of it" I want this fat layer to melt away over night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I pushed play this morning and look forward to doing it agian tomorrow.
Anyway, glad you're back.
hey!! I am so happy I found you guys, I am in my 7th day of SI6 and I´m really happy. I got the program from an aunt that went to the States to see a friend and she gave it to her (I am from Chile), so I got it for free!!! I have some doubts though since I only got the DVDs....is the nutrition guide really important, I´m dieting any ways because I have a hormone problem I have to lose around 20 pounds. And what about the resistant band...can I just use dumbells with little weight on them? Also..do they recomend a time in the day for better outcome...or if you have to do it more than once a day ( I hope not ...
jaja)
Thanks so much and nice to meet you all
Hello and welcome pcygb!
You don't really need to follow the nutrition plan. It is very strict but if you watch your calories and carbs you'll see results. I don't use the bands, I use 5 lb. weights because I think they are easier to handle.
Good luck!
WK2, D3 -
Hello all - I'm back on track again, and actually welcome the return to sore muscles. I'm hoping to start BIU by the end of the week. Is it much more difficult than RIU?
pcygb - the nutrition plan is very restrictive - I wouldn't be able to handle it for more than a day! Also, they do not recommend exercising while on the 6-day diet.
Also, I think the booklet said not to exercise within 3 hours after eating, but be sure to eat a small meal within 1 hour after exercising. I'm pretty sure this is from the SI6 info - I've been reading quite a bit about nutrition and exercise lately, so i might have gotten mixed up with the source.
Idgy - are the weights really easier than the bands? The bands tend to rub/scratch sometimes, but I thought this was due to doing the movements wrong.
Thanks for the motivational words everyone!
I just got the SI6 DVD a few days ago, and I already finished my third day of SIU. I LOVE IT so much!!!! time goes so fast to finish one section.
I wonder can I start the RIU on my fourth day of the first week, or I have to finish the SIU for the whole week like Sweet_tart suggested?
and for those of you who just finished the 6wks program, how are your results? Is it very noticable improvement like many success stories in the DVD? thank you very much for your feedback.
If you had some extra skin due to weight loss do you think slim in 6 would tone it up ?
Starting week 4 today! Hey chic-I think all the nutrition info you gave is from SI6 and it sounded correct to me. I only read through the nutrition book once--it was so strick I said "no thanks".
I find the weights to be easier than the bands. I'm also paranoid that they might snap on me. My cat likes to chew the handles, so it makes me nervous. Plus with weights, I can more easily controll how intense my work out is each day.
Like I said, this is the beginning of my week 4. I tried on an old pair of jeans last night. They went on easier, but I have a long way to go. I just keep hoping I'll see some big changes soon. I plan to step it up from here on out. Only 2 weeks left!
nle906-I think you can start RIU whenever you feel like your body is ready. I started it early. It is very similar to SIU, just a little longer and slightly more intense.
Idgystripes, congrats on your week 4! let's go, you have only 2 to go. did you take pictures?
I'm using the bands for biceps and back, but I prefer weights for shoulders and triceps. I found these two exercices to hard to control with the bands.
continue to push play! It's worth it!
wk 4 day 3...Well, it is still hard to get through BIU with out skipping any reps. It is working though! But what a tough work out.
Danielle sorry to hear you're sick. Hope you feel better soon. I did not take pictures. I should have...I didn't even take measurements. I am going by how my old (smaller) pair of jeans fit. Are you going to start over with SIU next week or go back to BIU for your 2nd six weeks?
Lgutu-I don't know where you can find the set cheaper. I got mine from Ebay. You can post your success here with whatever work out you do--I'd love to hear about what works for you. I don't think anyone will care if it's not SI6. Just push play![]()
