I found Slim  in  6  to be great for toning, it is not dreadfully hard to do. I did the 6 weeks and found my self toned!  I looked great, I did the Slim and Six pack daily too which made my abs look decent.  I have not done this in about 2 years now but would love to start it again, that is if i can get my girls to nap at the same time!  Anyone doing it, or about to start it?  I am ready for the 6 week challenge.  I am eager to start but fear not following through... I know it works!  I have seen results firsthand!  I need a buddy!

So, today is week 1, day 2. I am able to walk comfortably again!! lol!! It does feel good to be a little sore, helps me remember throughout the day to stay on track.

i did SIU in the morning, then walked a mile in the PM. Plan on doing that again today.

One thing i hate about SI6 is that it get boring sooooo fast. i already am bored, but get through because its only 25 minutes. RIU is longer, so i need to find a way to stay motivated to push play.

Any ideas?

hey idgy,

Glad to hear that you are sticking with it and are not too sore.

My best advice for the bordem is to try and really focus on doing each move perfectly and then once that is down, try to do them with extra energy. Like almost cheesy energy, before you know it the video will be over and you will have burned more calories from the concerted effort.

KPP!

Marissa...

Oh and once you have the moves down, put on music you like in the background or on your ipod anything that makes you want to move. and you will!

I agree, SI6 can be boring!  The thing that got me through was thinking about the results Debbie promised me!  By the end of the 6th week, I couldn't wait to move on to something else, but the incredible satisfaction of completing SI6 was great for my self esteem.  I had never finished a program before.  If you haven't seen my gallery, click on my profile and take a look.  I still have a way to go, but that's the results I got when I was sick of doing RUI and BUI but kept pushing play anyway.  It is worth it!

Hi Marissa,

I worked out on Sunday, but I didn't see you there.  Please invite me anytime on the weekends.  I'll invite you too!  If we can't make it, oh well.  Sounds like you're doing great.  Have you thought about what you are going to do next?

Kimberly

Marissa: Thanks for the advice. I am trying to focus on the moves and do them with energy and it really isn't too bad but I know when the workout get a little longer I will get bored and try to make exceses to quit. How long did you do SIU before moving on  to RIU? I'm thinking about taking about 2 week on SIU so I can get more strength. the last time I did this program I think I moved ahead too fast and got discouraged when I couldn't get through RIU, even after a couple of weeks i wasn't doing the whole RIU. This time I am giving myself 12 weeks before I let myself quit....slow and steady....

I am trying to keep my eye on the prize. Kimberly: Your results are amazing! I hope to get there too. i really love the feeling I have when I finish each day so i can imagine how great you felt when you did the whole program.

When you play different music in the backgroud can you still hear her prompts or do you have to sort of know whats coming next on the tape?

idgy,

When it gives you the option of music on or off.  Just click off and you can still hear everything shes saying!  Marissa suggested that to me too and I never got around to it.  I wished I had, especially for BUI because there's one section where the music actually makes me feel like I can't finish one of the moves, it's dark sounding, if that makes sense.

I think you've made a very smart decision to take it slow and get stronger before moving on.  Do not quit!  Make sure you are eating super clean.  I know it's hard, but why work your butt off with Debbie if your not watching what you eat, ya know?!

KPP!

Kimberly

thanks Kimberly for the advise. I had a no-so-good evening last night. Bad news at work--so I proceded to drink way too much wine :(  Which of course ment that I got up late this morning and skipped my workout. bad girl.

I am staying on track with my food and will get a walk in today, maybe workout tonight. At any rate I am going to get back on track and not let things out of my control ruin my plans to get thin. I mean, who wants to be depressed AND fat. If I'm going to be depressed I'd at least like to be thin!!!

Hey gals!

Idgy! sorry about work! But you know when you do something good for yourself, you feel better and more like you will have control in other areas of your life, so use it as a stress release, it works wonders I assure you and your body will reflect all your hard work. I used to turn to a good meal and sitting whenever something bad happens to me, i am still tempted to do that to be honest, but then I just pull myself together and think about how if this is the one thing I can control I'm going to make it the best thing I can possibly do. You know?

No worries you will get through it, but you have to have your heart in it or else there will always be a reason not to. lol

I did SIU for a week RIU for 3 and I'm on my last week of BIU so in total i did 7 weeks really. and i think it is more important to go at your own pace than to push through it. So if you have to do the program for 8 weeks even, I think its better.

I definitely feel like I got a lot of the program, I didn't do so much of the hardcore lean diet so I sacrificed losing pounds that may i would have if I did, I just watched my calories and took my time so in total I lost about 15lbs and 4 inches on my waist, and I'm honestly happy with that. I have lost two dress sizes and I'm well on my way to the third.  Just stick with it don't beat yourself up if you miss one workout or have one cookie lol this should be a lifestyle change for a better you, so it will take time.  Now if you have an entire juniors cheescake, mabye we need to rethink things :)

Don't worry you'll be fine, just know you are doing this for you and you are worth that right?

Kimberly my girl! i was on wowy that night too and didn;t see you. i think they are screwing with us on different coasts lol.

I'm away this weekend so I will probably be on sunday night at around 7pm/8pm EST so I'll send you an invite!

I think turbo jams looks fun, but I think I'm going to start intergrating 30-45mins of cardio with a selection of the moves from BIU and do slim and 6pack as a routine until i feel my b ody getting used to it then i will start turbojams I think.

How are doing with it?

Best,

Marissa

wow that was a long one!

Thanks Marissa for the pep talk. I got right back on the wagon and worked out that afternoon since I missed in the morning. Everything at work has smoothed itself out so thats good news too. It is so easy to just say "I dont care" and grab a bag of chips when things go wrong...I have to focus on my success, thats all.

Wow, it sounds like you have gotten great results from SI6! Fifteen pounds in 7 weeks! I would love to see that! I was 136 when I started so 15 would get me very close to my goal (somewhere between 115 and 120). I am really enjoying the added energy that I can already feel. I've only been doing it for about 4 days now, so I hope as I move forward that enegertic feeling will keep me motivated. I think I'll follow your plan and stay on SIU for about a week ( haven't yet done the whole 25 minutes without a break or rest) then move to RIU until I feel strong enough to do the whole thing with out stopping or resting before I move on to BIU. I'm not really on a time frame exactly. Just want to fit into shorts this summer.

Thanks again for your encouragement and congratulations on finishting the program! Did it seem like forever or did it go fast???!!!

so I'm on week 2 day 2... Haven't weighed myself since day one yet.  I don' t want to get discouraged.

Anyone else doing SI6?

hey idgy, great job! KPP! i never took a before pic, but I have a lot more to lose so the weight comes off quicker in the begining for me. But I will take some pictures and send to you this weekend.

I'm still doing BIU and alternating it between cardio on the eliptical, but I have definately kept trying to watch those calories, its key.

I found that I need to eat more during the day and less at night that works for me, you have to observe your body and progress to see what really works for you.

I wish you all the best, try wowy and join the slim and 6 newbies it really helps you stay focused and motivated for your workouts.

At some point it did seem like a long 7 weeks but as you get into the routine  you just do it and the time goes by, its better to count a week at a time, like think to yourself i just have to get through this week, and then keep saying that and before you know it, you've done 7 weeks!

Marissa :)

Hello well I am new. Today is my second day doing SI6. I will tell you I was pretty soar today.....I barely can go up and down my stairs.....I want to start the ab one tonight. Do any of you guys take the supplements...Well I dont...but do any of you reccommend it, I do not want something that makes me jittery.

well good luck to all that are doing this as well as me. And for those that have already done this...I have read some of your comments and they are making me very motivated so thank you! =]

Hi dee1923,

I completed SI6 with the help of Slimming Formula!  I can't tolerate caffeine so no worries about the jitters.  It's all natural with no substance that make you feel weird.  There is green tea in it, but it doesn't give me any weird feeling AT ALL.  I also take the Activit metabolism formula.  It's a multivitamin that is also designed to help you lose weight faster.

If you purchase these, be sure to go to your coaches beachbody profile, so they'll get the commission.

If you click on my profile here, you'll see the results I got after six weeks.  You can do it!

Wow Kimberly,

You could do the commercial. How much weight did you lose?

Hi hapi2b,

I lost 17.5 pounds in 6 weeks.  Thank you for the compliment!

Kimberly

I just started it, and I hate it.

It's dull and the resistance bands suck.

I just started this week... So far I like it.  starting off at 195.  We'll see how it goes!

I agree with you, it can be a little dull. I do like the way it makes me feel though. I've started the program before but didn't finish it (partly because I got bored with it) but I have started it again and this time to combat boredom I am really focusing on doing each move correctly. I'm not pushing to get done in 6 weeks, I may take 7 or even 8. I'm in my second week of SIU and I'm enjoying it much more this time around. I was so sore after the first work out I took two days off to recover. (could barely walk) Now I try to work hard enough to feel it the next day. I will know when I'm ready to move on to RIU when I stop feeling it and when I am able to consistantly do the whole SIU with no stopping or resting at all.

I usually do SIU then the slim and limber then sit ups-so it adds up to about 40-45 minute workout. RIU is longer and a little more difficult. I switched from the bands to free weights after the first time (last time I did SI6) because I found them akward and hard to use. But 3-5 pound weights work well.

I hope you give it another chance, you can turn off the music and work out to your own which might help.

If you really hate it and you're just not going to do it no matter what, return it and order Turbo Jam!  Chalene is very energetic and fun!  The workouts don't get you the same results in such a short period of time, but if you think it's fun, you'll stick with it and get the results you want!

A suggestion for SI6:   I used 3 pound hand weights for the entire 6 weeks.  You can also play your own music during the workout.  Just turn the sound off.  You can still hear her instruction.

I got tired of it too, but I stuck with it because I knew it would change my body.  If you click on my profile and look at my gallery, you'll see my before and after pics.  it was worth 6 weeks of boring!  Now I can say I've completed it and I've moved on to Turbo Jam.  I still really like Slim n 6 pack and Slim n Limber and I do those on my rest days.

Good luck to you!
