Anyone doing SLIM IN 6?
The length of the workouts vary. Chalene has several. I purchase the max results package which has
Cardio Party - 40 mins,
20 minute workout (that's what it's called),
Turbo Sculpt - 40 mins.,
Ab Jam 20 mins.,
and the introductory workout Learn and Burn - 20 minutes.
Oh, and it came with a bonus workout Kick, Punch and Jam which I think is 50 minutes.
I haven't done it yet because I'm going through the 4 week program cycle.
I think SI6 is a better workout overall as far as getting results fast and the way Debbie focuses on specific muscle groups while we're doing cardio.
Turbo Jam is mostly cardio except for Turbo Sculpt so you don't get the definition in your muscles and you burn fewer calories because the workout is shorter.
The upside is that it's fun AND you don't have to do the same workout everyday. I'm so glad I did SI6 first though. I was a wonderful experience to complete it and it gave me a really good foundation.
Kimberly~Thanks for reminding me why I'm doing SI6. Today is day 2 of week 3. I just started RIU yesterday and I think I may have a little trouble staying motivated. I have to remember how great your results were.
I forgot how much more intense RIU is than SIU. I sort of feel like I'm not getting as good of a work out because I'm so tired and don't do all the reps. I guess it's ok to gradually work up to it. Were you able to do RIU straight through the first time you did it? And then, how much harder is BIU? I just need to keep my eye on the prize.
I have made progress. I weighed for the first time since starting SI6 two weeks ago and I lost 4 pounds! Yay! and I can tell my jeans fit better. Still have a long way to go (love handles and muffin top~yuck) but I'm giving myself plenty of time.
Anyway, I'm glad you still think SI6 is a good program to do...it helps to hear it again.
Hi idgy,
I'm actually considering doing another cycle of SI6 or at least a modified version of it!! I'm thinking BUI for 5 days a week for 4 weeks, adding Sim n 6pack 7 days a week. I just love working all my muscle groups. It's definitely a love/hate thing! haha.
I couldn't finish all the lunges and floor work the first week of RIU. By the end, though I could keep up with Debbie.
It's starts all over with BIU, at least the floor work. It took at least a week to finish the floor work, and that was yelling and cursing Debbie with each repetition!
By my last week of SI6, I just wanted it to be over so I did every single move that Debbie did, but at only about 90% as I was doing the 6 day express diet at the same time and didn't have the energy.
Don't give up! I know it's hard to stay motivated, but on those days when you don't want to do it, those are the days when you NEED to do it. You'll feel so much better after that workout.
I used a calendar and taped it on the wall. After each workout, I checked off the date. The SI6 calendar has an end date I could look forward to. You could create one on a regular calendar with inspirational notes to keep you going.
Good luck!
I did do RIU last night (second time) and I was able to do all of it!! I was so proud of myself. I did pause the dvd a couple of times to catch my breath but I started right back up after a few deep breaths and finished the whole thing ~~ plus I added 6 pack and limber too. I think sticking to SIU for a full two weeks was a good move. It prepared me for RIU. I plan to do ramp it up for 3 weeks before moving on to BIU. My muscles are sore and I feel it especially in my shoulders and inner thighs but I like it!
The calendar is a great motivater. I am using something similar. I have a note book I carry with me that I mark down exactly what workout I do each day and track my days off. I bring it to work so if I get the chance to walk on my lunch break I can make a note of it. I also am keeping track of my weight loss and measurments in the book. It's great to be able to look back and see all the work I've done and the progress I've made.
Thanks Kimberly for the encouragement! Good luck starting SI6 again. I think if you use the parts you like and mix it up with other workouts you won't get so bored with it. The sit ups are great.
Leslie
hi idgy,
I am doing SI6 and in my 2nd week .Did RIU yesterday for the first time and was nt able to get thru. I am feel a bit depressed. Saw your post and feel a bit better.
And Kimberly saw your gallery. keeps me motivated.Did you face trouble doing RIU?
Sandy
Sandy- Don't get depressed! RIU is hard but that's good because you know it's working. Take your time and focus on doing the moves correctly. Take breaks if you need to. Your strength will build up quickly.
I remember when I started SIU I could only do about 6 push ups. Now I can do them all. It's a great feeling to stick with it and then start to see progress.
I'm off now to do RIU. I don't really want to, but I know I'll be soooooo glad I did. Today is week 3, day 4.
Hi Sandy,
When I first started RIU, I couldn't finish the lunges because I had balance issue, I couldn't complete the push ups or the floor work. By the end of RIU, I was able to do all the lunges, and the floor work, but still couldn't finish the pushups until the last 2 weeks of BIU.
I think you're doing great! These workouts are tough for a reason. They are going to get you the results you're looking for!
Be sure to use the burn and eat meters here to track your food intake. If you're not eating right, you'll be doing all that work and not getting the results you deserve!!!!
Kimberly
Thanks Idgy and Kimberly.
Thats a lot of motivation for me. Will let you know if cud get thru this program.
Sandy, I don't know if your working with a time frame in mind, but if your not I suggest you do SIU until you are completly comfortable and able to do all the moves. This is my second try at this program. The first time I did SIU for the recommened 2-3 days. When I started RIU I couldnt get through any of it. It made me feel defeated so I just quit. This time I did SIU for 2 weeks. Then when I started RIU I was able to do it ALL the second day. (I do still stop the tape for a few extra breaths and a drink of water here and there). I was never able to get that far the first time. I am planning to stick with RIU for 3 weeks (unless it just gets too simple--doubt it) but then I'll be ready for BIU and will be able to stick it out. Right now I'm planning 3 weeks for BIU as well. I know that puts me at 8 weeks instead of 6 but I really want it to work for me this time.
My main goal is my swim suit so I'm good with the time frame. It won't be that warm here for another 8 weeks at least so I have time.
Tomorrow is week 3 day 5 and Saturday is my day off so I'm almost done with my first week of RIU! I'm starting to notice some changes, but I want lots more. I really don't want to loose intrest after I've come this far.
Keep on truckin!!!!
Leslie
Hi Leslie,
Yeah i did the same thing. When i told my husband that i am going to do SIU for 2-3days as suggested in the program , he told me not to do that . So i did it for 1 + weeks and moved to RIU . Today is my 5th day of RIU. Yesterday i cud complete the program(ofcourse i took some breaks here and there). I am just not able to do the floor workouts in RIU. I just feel like screaming when Debie says 8 more :). Hopefully i can do it in sometime. I am going to do RIU for another 1 week to see if i can get easy with it.
Post me your progress and sure let me know your changes. I am looking forward to it too.
Best wishes
Sandy
Hey Everyone,
I started a new SI6 thread on the Beachbody message boards if anyone wants to join. The message boards are free like here. I'm starting another round of SI6 on Monday and would love some buddies over there. Of course I'll still be posting here too. I also started a new SI6 thread here, where I'll be posting my progress. If any of you want to say Hi over there, that's where I'll be.
Kimberly
Sandy-It sounds like your doing well. To get through the leg work on the floor I try to focus on the muscle in both my leg and butt. Before I know it times up. They are a killer though. Actually, my arms get really tired from being on my knees and elbows.
I just finished todays RIU. Today was supposed to be my day off but I won't be able to work out tomorrow so I'm taking Sunday off. I'm really tired but glad I did it.
I haven't weighed myself since the 8th so I'm hoping when I do I'll see a big drop. Don't want to get my hopes too high. I am noticing a slight change in my body. I think my muffin top is gone!!!Unfortunately the muffin top appeared while wearing my big jeans so I'm not done yet. Got to get into my old size. (and even hopefully smaller)
I think I'll weight in the morning. I might measure myself too.?!?
Kimberly-I'll make a point to check out beachbody message boards and I'll look up the new SI6 thread here. Hopefully you can stir up some new 6ers. Have you started your second round of SI6 yet? I'm curious to know how much eaiser it is the second time. You are already in shape this time so SIU will be eaiser for sure.
I'll be looking for a good routine to maintain in about a month. If anyone has any good ideas I'd love to hear them. I want something that is 30 minutes a day. I know I can stick with that. This hour of RIU is killing me. I find it hard to squeeze it in although I haven't skipped yet...Can't wait to be done!!!!!! How long is BIU? I forget.
Gotta go do laundry, yippie.
Leslie ,
i will see if i can use ur trick and make my floor work easier. I avent done today's workout so will post the result tmrw. When did u see your first changes? I mean i have been doing for abt 2 weeks and i am not able to make out any changes, though my husband keeps pointing it out that i have reduced a bit around my hip and waist.
Kimberly ,i saw your message in MDB . I will post messages there too.
Take care .
Sandy
Leslie,
BUI is just about an hour and RIU is about 45 mins. If you like Debbie's style, she has a program called Slim Series Express. The workouts are similar, but they are all about 30 minutes. Click on my profile, then my site, click on shop for products and you can check them out. While your there, Tony Horton just released a new program called 10 minute workouts or something like that. Check those out too.
I'll be do SIU on Monday. I'm thinking it will be easy. I'm also going to start the 2 day fast that day too so easy is probably better.
KPP!
Kimberly
Hi montie,
This thread here is fairly active.
I also started a thread here called Slim in 6 - Starting 3/18. No one has posted there yet, but I will be posting my progress there regularly.
I have a thread on the beachbody message boards too called the same thing. The message boards there are incredibly active and there's support all over the place.
I like to hang out here too, because I love the burn and eat meters to track my calories.
Congratulations on starting SI6!
Kimberly
Montie-Welcome! We'll get through this together. So were you sore after the first workout? I could hardly walk for two days! lol. It is a great all over work out. I'm to the point now that I really don't want to miss a work out, my body craves the excercise.
Sandy-I haven't seen much in the way of results. My jeans fit a little (very little)better...I'm just starting my 4th week. I've done RIU for 1 week. I hope to see more results soon. Now is when I start getting discouraged...But don't get me wrong, I do feel stronger and more muscular. I'm not going to give up!
Kimberly, When did you start seeing results the first time around? I've lost 5 pounds in 3 weeks. I guess that's ok, but I was hoping to see more results by now. If I remember correctly, you lost about 17 the first time. Did it start slow? I feel in danger of slacking off because I haven't seen any changes. *note to self* : I must keep on track!!!Summer will be here soon!!!
Today is my day off but I'm going to help a freind chop and stack fire wood. (She had a big tree fall in her yard during a storm here a couple of weeks ago.) So even though it's my day off I will be getting a work out!
I could really eat a whole bag of m&m's today...I must focus. Does anyone else notice around the 3rd week of any diet/program a softening of your resolve?
So I was considering this Slim in 6 thing. But..
Does it really truly work?
I mean.. I'm 170 right now and I want get down to about 140. Is it possible to do it with this program by like.. July?
Hi rackstarr and donte~Congrats on getting the SI6 program. I have to say I have never done the complete program before. I started it in October last year and quit around Halloween (darn candy got the best of me)...this time I am going to finsih.
You should check out Kimberlys results and before and after pix. her screen name is goal125. scroll up and you'll see some of her posts. She got great results with SI6 and I think shes planning on doing the program a second time.
good luck with the program. Keep me updated on what you think of it and your progress!
leslie
Do you recomend Hydroxycut?
Do not use Hydroxycut. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a warning to consumers in May 2009 to immediately stop using Hydroxycut products... Read more
