Is anyone doing Slim-in-6 from the infomercial?

Quote  |  Reply

I am thinking about getting the Slim-in-6 set to tone without bulking up and want to know if anyone has any feedback they'd be willing to share with me.

If you have this set, would you want to help keep each other on track?

Thank-you!Smile

I did the Slim in 6 workout 2 years ago and have sporadically used it since.  It's an awesome workout and will definitely get you toned.  When I did it the 1st time, I was sore in places I did know I had and I considered myself quite athletic.  It's really the only workout dvd that I thought was worth every penny.  I even found myself using the video instead of going to the gym because it's such a great cardio and resistance routine.  I soon found out that many of my friends had done it as well and everyone had great things to say about it.

It'll be tough to keep on track the first week because of the soreness, but you can push through it.  The 1st phase is about 25 minutes, the 2nd is 45 minutes and the 3rd is about 50 minutes.  I used 5 lb. handweights in place of the resistance bands.  Make sure you plan enough time for it and you'll see results!  Good luck!

Thank-you Smegelbert for that great information!

Hi,

Can you tell me what slim in 6 is. I'm looking for exercises I can do at home when I can't go to the gym.

Thanks

Sure thing Trisha...

"Slim-in-6" is a workout system that is sold on an infomercial or on www.beachbody.com. I believe the complete total is $72.80 which includes s&h.

The workout has cardio, toning, and stretching that gets you into shape using an exercise tube or free weights without the bulking up that heavier weight machines MIGHT cause. I've read that you have to work pretty hard to bulk up though.

I really like that they have a short beginner workout and then you gradually progress to the intermediate and then advanced levels in 6 weeks.

My plan is to do a gradually improving walking regimen for 6 weeks and then do Slim-In-6 the 6 weeks right after that. After Slim-In-6 I want to be in shape enough to blade, bike, and hike in time for Spring!

Good Luck as you search for your perfect home workouts!

Slim in 6 is definitely a no nonsense workout. Take a look at my gallery for my 23 day pics. I'm on Week 5, Day 5 and I'm getting stronger and leaner everyday!

If anyone has any questions about Slim in 6 or any of the Beachbody products, let me know.Smile

For those of you that have it at home - do i need alot of space?

I am in a basement apartment and not much space

Kimberly - What fun encouragement! Thank-you! My 12 week plan is to have a progressively difficult walking regimen for 6 weeks (I'm on week 2) and then do SI6 for 6 weeks.

Once I complete the first 4 weeks of walking then I'll reward myself with the purchase of SI6. My start date for SI6 is set for March 10th. Turbo Jam looks like a blast from the infomercial, it'll be fun to see how you like that as well!

PenniePie - I rent a smallish room in a townhome and I don't have much space either, lol. We can make it work! I have the "office half" and the "bedroom half" of the room and then there is this square of space in front of my TV, beside my bed, under the ceiling fan, and in front of my desk where all of my slim in six-ing is to take place. Tongue out

Excellent!!

Great I dont have much room and i really want to do this!

I am currently bidding on one on ebay!

I never even thought of trying to bid for one on ebay. I hope you win!

Your welcome Melissa!

SI6 is a great reward.  If you commit to it, you're going to see your body change and you will feel stronger and healthier!  I'll be happy to let you know how TJ goes!  Keep in touch because you'll probably have more questions when you receive SI6.   There is so much support on the beachbody site also!

Penniepie, good luck on your bidding!  You don't need that much space - just about a bath towel size worth.  Let me know if you have any other questions.  Oh, and check out my profile if you want.  My 23 day before and after pics are on there.  I take my 6 week pics on 2/13.  Woohoo!

Kimberly

Kimberly - Thank-you for your responses and for your offer of extended support! I would definitely like to stay in touch. What you've already accomplished with SI6 is impressive and it'll be fun to see your new pics on 2/13! Thank-you for giving us an actual example of the size of space we'll need. Penniepie and I should definitely be able to find that much room! Smile

Melissa,

You are very welcome!  You may need a little more room during the stretch part of the routine so maybe the size of an exercise mat is more accurateSmile

I hope your walks are going great!  Drink lots of water!  Do you want to discuss meal plans or calories?

Let me know.

Kimberly

Kimberly - There should still be enough room if I get creative, lol Tongue out

Thanks for the offer to discuss meal plans. I will send you a message if I have something specific that I'd like to ask. I'm just focusing on improvement and a healthier lifestyle that I will stick with.

Keep up the great work with SI6!

Hey Melissa,

How's your walking program going?  How far along are you?  I think you said you were going to walk for 6 weeks.  Is that correct?  Let us know how you're doing!!

Kimberly

Hello Kimberly,

You are correct, I had a 6 week walking plan. This Monday will/would be the start of week 3. My goal has been to have a 3,060 calorie deficit each week and I've been meeting that goal with my housecleaning and with eating a bit less.

Once I get to the point where I am having difficulty meeting my minimum deficit I'll add the extra walking that I thought I would need to add by this point.

I've been having some second thoughts about SI6 for now because about a year ago I hurt my right knee. I have not had the knee checked out by a doctor and won't be able to for quite some time. (No medical insurance.)

I do a lot of physical activity with my housecleaning already and until I have some of this weight off and can get an OK from a Dr., I don't think that I should do any exercise videos. When I first started thinking about SI6 I didn't even think about my knee.

My knee is one of the reasons that I started building my Arbonne business. It will be such a blessing to be able to get medical insurance and to have this knee checked out!

Thank-you for checking in and please let me know how your SI6 program is going!

Hi Melissa,

I'm sorry to hear about your knee injury.  I think you're smart to consult a Dr. before starting any exercise routine.

If you find that you're still experiencing knee pain with the activities that you're doing now, you may want to consider Beachbody's Joint Support Super Formula.  It's designed to protect your joints and connective tissue.  Let me know if you want me to tell you more about it.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, is my final day of SI6.  I very excited about my results.  Thank you for asking.

Kimberly

Thank-you for being so understanding. I guess that I was still in the mindset that whenever I chose to get healthier I'd just be able to do whatever exercises I wanted to.

My knee makes weird noises sometimes even though I function just fine on it, but I don't want to push my luck until I know exactly what it looks like inside my knee.

I am currently taking most of Arbonne's supplements including their Joint Formula three times a day, but thank-you for offering to tell me about Beachbody's Joint Support.

Making it through 6 weeks of Slim Training is a huge accomplishment. Way to go Kimberly!
