Melkor had posted this a while back....

http://figureathlete.tmuscle.com/article/trai ning/no_business_running&cr=

It makes so mush sense....to be fit to run not run to be fit.  I tried it yesterday and couldnt get through the T-pushups!!

How many days should I be doing this??  And I'm also mixing it with the Couch 2 5K plan...is that a good idea?

It's bodyweight-based, so you can potentially do it every day when you've worked your way up to it. I'd start with the classic 3xweekly though, at least for a couple weeks while you get your body and connective tissues used to the idea ;)

Melkor,

thanks for the response and the article.  I'm definately feeling it today.

that's interesting. I am glad that I informed my trainer in November that it was my dream to run. He changed my weights training then and I recognize a lot of these exercises... :-)) I lost 50 lbs before I started. I'm still overweight but I didn't want to start before I would hit that 50 lbs (afraid to hurt myself).

I had my first running class last Wednesday. I have an exercise schedule next to my normal weights workouts which consist of a lot of "active walking" (a bit slower than power walk) with every so now and then 1 min of jogging. Active walking goes as fast as jogging and it isn't as intense on your muscles. I've been doing that for a couple of months as well. But now I'm f-i-n-a-l-l-y running. I dreamed for so long and to be honest it was my thing to keep losin weight. I want to run and see if I'm going to like it as much as I think I will.

I'm so proud that I'm doing this and I'm glad that I chose a program that starts really slow. There was also a class that focuses on a 5K in June but I chose the class that trains for a 5K in October. June would be too fast too soon. October fits me better.
