Has anyone ever done this.....

Has anyone ever worked out with a dvd (cardio & sculpt) for a couple weeks and then switched workout dvds because your body became used the workout?

If yes, you have done this, my question is, is it ok to go back to those old dvds your body was once used to after a few months or even a year?

Will i see results? Or will my body still be used to that particular workout? I am very active and i am always trying to push myself....but i love this old dvd i have! I did it this morning and broke a sweat, but before i add it to my routine, i wanted to check with you guys!!!!

If you have any advice at all please let me know!!

I used to always workout with Tae-Bo, but yeah, after a while I did feel like I was getting used to it.  Then I started Turbo Jam, and my body responded very well.  And then after a while, I felt I was getting used to it.  Then I tried Tae Bo Fat Blasting cardio again, and it kicked my butt (in a good way).

So, at least in my experience, cycling home workout routines/DVDs is a good idea.  (It also keeps me from getting bored with the same music over and over.)

Variety is good!

Thanks santonacci~

That makes sense. I am just worried that i would be working out and not burning enough calories, but if my heart rate is up and im sweating....I'm probably burning enough...

I think as long as you mix it up, you should be fine.  I see no problem with going back to it after awhile.  Good luck!

I can't tell you about results.. but I got this pilates dvd (for beginners) in the summer of 2005 I think.  I used it allll the time and it was a little challenging for me.  But I got the hang of it.  I picked it up a few times but never really stuck with it again.  But I tried it a couple months ago (and barely had been exercising) and it was just toooo easy for me still.

I used the Tae Bo dvd's everyday for months until my body was used to it.  Now I still do Tae Bo, but only once a week so my body doesn't get bored with the same routine.  The key to exercise is diversity.  No matter what you do, make sure you mix up the routine(same idea works for diet).  Keep your mind and body on its toes to reap the benefits.
