anyone eat dessert?
I noticed that a lot of you eat very healthy but I dont see a lot of sweets in your meal plans. Am I wrong? Is it ok to eat sweets everyday? As I mentioned Im early on with my recovery and I really want to eat my muffins but Im still struggling.

Your desert must be quite gritty, littleshellys. <3 Just messing with you. But dessert has two s's! x]
Sweetandbrown... it's probably not a good idea to list a load of low calorie desserts in the Weight Gain forum. That might just be me, though... most people here that are trying to gain would likely have the common sense not to eat lower calorie foods with higher calorie requirements. <__<
Sorry lalabanana, I didn't mean to offend. Although I realize that it is the weight gain forum, this topic was about desserts and whether you are trying to lose, gain, or maintain I think desserts are an extra and should be a small part if they're a part of it at all. The bulk of your calories whatever your goals are should come from nutritous foods regardless of your goal thus the reason I posted the lower calorie desserts...
Candycane - I make it a point to have a muffin with peanut butter for breakfast every weekend ^.^ Its a little treat to myself haha. Plus, muffins ar e wee bit of a fear food for me because I enjoy them. So I make sure I have one each week so I don't become afraid. I also have chocolate and peanut butter on a pretty much daily basis for that exact reason.
Also, I have a little desert wth dinner every night - usually cinnamon toast with nutella. As well as strawberry or chocolate soymilk. ^.^ Treats are fine, and they do quite help with boosting your calories. As long as you have a good variety of foods, sweets are perfectly healthy and good to have in your daily diet especially when recovering from an eating disorder.
As an aside, my mother (my father too actually), who does not have an eating disorder, eats a dessert every night. Usually chocolate milk and a brownie or pastry. She also eats potato chips with lunch and has a croissant with butter for breakfast. She is perfectly healthy. So don't worry, muffins are your friend.
Oh, no, that's okay sweetandbrown :] I understand.
For me, it was important in my recovery to begin to include sweets and deserts as they were some of the first things i started to restrict and consequently became big fear foods. I dont think there ia aything wrong with a bit of fun food especially if you get lots of nutriton elsewhere. Like gibbet i am an avid baker/cook and tend to have steady streams of cakes and muffins and have recently started eat them for breakfast a la rebel! Most importantly food is meant to be a pleasure in life not the enemy so if for you you would like to eat the muffin or sweets then go ahead and enjoy the pleasure that was intended.
Oh I love sweets! I just had a Caramel Muffin today :). I used to be scared of them, like a lot of people, but since that I have one every now and then, I understand that fun foods doesn't turn people into a whale, and everything is OK in moderation. It's good to feel like you're eating ''normally'', ya know?
Just enjoy your food.
I do still eat sweets. Some days they put me over and others they help me make my target. On those days that put me over, honestly I've learned to not care. I'm an emotional eater so punishing myself is the worst thing I can do since that will lead to full out binge. Took me a while to get over it and just allow what I feel like but in the end it's worth it. I'm a lot happier!
I HAVE to have some sort of dessert every night.
Some of my favorite things to have are yogurt & granola/nuts/dried fruit/seeds, smoothie/milkshake, or froyo/ice cream.
I'm with cole37 with the Edy's. They have so many amazing flavors - cookies & cream is at the top, butterfinger, caramel praline crunch froyo, and girl scout thin mint rank high in my book as well.
