Is anyone else disgusted with all the "LOSE WEIGHT QUICK!" ads on here?

I especially can't stand the ones with flabby ab pictures.  C'mon! Really?

We're supposed to all be learning about proper nutrition and slow-and-steady weight loss yet they accept ads from these crazy, quack, fad diets that no one in their right mind would undertake.

FOLLOW THIS ONE RULE!!  Whatever.  Just venting.

Yeah. They suck. The splenda ad sucks. The add-one-thing-at-a-time sucks. The no-water-log thingie kinda sucks.

But hey. Its a FREE site! :) I can put on a blinder or two.

I agree they don't really send the best message, but yeah, I'm grateful for a free site that seems to actually work.  Besides it's kinda funny in an ironic kinda way.

I dislike the spleda "popout" ad waaay more.

I quit coming because of the advertising.  It makes me sick to deal with the Splenda advertising; gets in the way of my posts and reading.

So, from now on - every 3 months I'll check in; it's all I can take with all the junk on the side-bars..........

If you have firefox, a great way to get rid of ads, is using Adblock Plus.  It is a free firefox add-on, that has made it so I never get any ads or pop-ups.  If one does fall through the cracks, I have the option to right click and add it to the list of things to be blocked.  It makes your life on this site, and the internet in general a lot more managable and enjoyable.

I don't mind it to much. I'm just glad this website hasn't got that damn acia-berry crap all over, because that thing drives me nuts! its a got damn gimmick.

When I click through that's exactly what the "OBEY THIS ONE RULE" ad is for! Acia-berry.  Only as an added ironic point there's actually another supplement you have to take with the Acia-berry stuff, so wouldn't that be TWO rules?

I use Google Chrome. Since Google lives on ads I doubt they have an ad blocker, but hey - I'm certainly going to be looking for one today. Thanks for the tip. (and I can always go back to Firefox.)

P

Thanks for the tip on adblocker I got it and it works Great!Wink

What about the same type of ads in FITNESS mags??  I read those when I am on the elliptical at the gym because many of the articles are motivating.  But it's SO annoying when ever other page has some unhealthy weight-loss product on it!

Never mind the weight loss adds... was anyone else getting adds that showed hot chocolate pudding oozing out all over the place?? i think they were dominos add... now THAT's just plain cruel...Frown

They don't bother me because I have them blocked...so I never see them.
