Anyone else dread tight jeans?

Quote  |  Reply
I have this one pair of tight jeans that I used to LOVE wearing. I wore those jeans literally almost every day. They were comfortable and I liked how tight they were and how they made me look.

But when I saw pictures of my legs in those jeans I was not so in love.
I looked like a stuffed sausage.

I haven't worn those jeans in about a year.

I also have this pair of skinny jeans that I refuse to wear until I lose enough weight to be considered "skinny" enough for skinny jeans.

-_-

Anyone else hate putting on tight jeans because of how they make your legs look? I wanna be able to wear those jeans so badly again. That's pretty much my inspiration for losing weight.

I still love my one pair of tight jeans, BUT I don't like how it squishes my belly and makes that extra fat roll over, LOL:) BUT I get to cover that up with a shirt:) I really need to work that belly though, but its the most stubborn area.

i hear yah! I carry all my weight in my butt, hips and my thighs, and i hate pants.. period. i wear long skirts whenever possible because at least i look somewhat balanced out... whenever i wear jeans i stare at my hips and regardless of how the rest of me looks.. i feel horrid..

i have a few pairs sitting in my closet just waiting for the day i can put them on and feel good about wearing them... one day :)

I feel your pain.

Yeah, muffin tops are annoying too.

I totally understand.  In fact I have these pair of jeans that look good everywhere but my legs.  Yes a stuffed sausage or what my mom used to say when clothes are too tight, "looks like skin on a bologna".

I sometimes like to wear tighter pants, because it helps me eat less (the tighter waist band makes me more aware when my tummy is full) I decided just to wear those jeans around the house because I am too embarrassed to wear them out.

In the meantime, I have been working on squats and toning excersise.  My goal is to someday wear those jeans in public and not be sickened by the way I look.

Hang in there, you are not alone :+) .  Take care.

Haha I remember the feeling of overeating in tight jeans.

It felt like the buttons were going to pop :D

Another reason to get to my goal weight.

i had a pair of jeans that were tight but still pretty comfy that i LOVED. then all of a sudden, it was harder and harder to move around in them...that's when i decided to start all this. guh, stupid tight jeans!

I hate tight jeans!  The only thing I hate more than tight jeans is when your jeans get wet in the rain, or when you sweat in jeans.

204.2 pounds... all of my jeans are tight on me...Cry

Its the worse when you get the jeans straight out of the dryer and they are ALWAYS super tigher than normal....

Ugh, my goal is to be able to wear a pair of skinny jeans.  I can't wait until I can go shopping and get a pair to wear with some heels and look amazing!

It's the whole muffin top/big thighs thing I'm worried about.  I've been working out so hard, and my abs are going down, my arms are getting thin, my back is basically ripped, and my calves are muscular, and my chest is (regrettably) starting to disappear...but my hips and thighs?  Not budging.  The muffin top is going away and my butt is looking firmer, but do you think what matters is going?  Nope.

lol!

Jennifer24747,

I'm having the exact same problem!  Like I just told my husband yesterday, I'm so happy with how above my waist is looking!  Thin, muscular, toned, ect... but below my waist I look terrible!  Flabby and wiggly (my thighs and butt) and huge and horrible...

What are you doing to make your butt look firmer?  I'm also trying to loose the "love handles" on my hips... did you have a problem with that?

I hate jeans/pants.  The way I'm shaped none of them fit properly.  My waist is larger than my hips, and even before  I was fat it was like that.  So jeans always end up being okay at waist, cuz i mean, i need to be able to breathe, and too big at the thighs, and it looks ridiculous.

I loove somewhat tight jeans. The trick is to find the right ones... And that can take decades!!!

Jeans that are too tight will always leave the person looking like a stuffed sausage, give a camel toe or else... And skinny people also look horrible in jeans that are too tight - gives them an ackward shape...

I think people just have to learn about shape, color, fading, etc... and look for what fits their body - and what fit compliments them the best.

I don't think I'll ever be able to wear skinny jeans... sniff... they are made for people with strong calves and smaller hips...

I wear skinny jeans everyday even though I shouldn't (stupid pear-shaped body).

But, I have this one pair of jeans that I love which are just that tiny bit too small! Argh! It's stupid, because I have another pair of jeans by a different company apparently the same size and they're too baggy :(

Luckily.....I hate skinny jeans.  They remind me too much of the 80s maybe. lol  So I guess I dont have to worry about that.  I love a good boot cut or slight flare leg.   Even when I was really thin shopping for jeans was a nightmare.  If it fits in the butt it is way to big in the waist.  If I was looking to fit my waist they would never get over my behind. lol

I have dropped a whole jeans size and am fitting into a size down...but that is still a size 20-22.  So I am not throwing a party yet.  :)

I refuse to wear skinny jeans -- hated them in the 80's (didn't have the body for them even back then) and hate them now. I have really muscular legs and am fairly short (5.3) so need to select jeans that are cut wider in the leg or have a bit of lycra in them.

I do like snug-fitting jeans and trust me, when you pull on those favorites and realize your legs don't look so bad in them anymore thanks to your hard work and dedication, it will be a FANTASTIC feeling. Happened to me recently and I was so darn excited that I wanted to write a forum post encoraging anyone within 20 pounds of their weight loss goal to buy a pair of jeans that are too snug so that they can experience the same joy and satisfaction of pulling them on one day and realizing that not only do they zip, they LOOK GOOD.

i HATE too tight jeans!! not only do they make me look awful but they are painful.  but i keep them so i can monitor how i'm doing to see if they'll fit better.  i think its important to keep wearing somewhat snug fitting clothes because it keeps you in check. i went through a phase where i completely avoided all my jeans because i was afraid of them, literally!! i wore all my super stretchy pants and "fat pants" that season and ended up gaining weight b/c i just couldnt tell that i was gaining weight if that makes sense...

my advice for jeans- the low rise jeans are the ones that cause the "muffin tops" even on skinny girls!! try a bit of a higher rise, they are so much more comfortable and flattering, trust me!!  plus you wont have to worry about showing too much of your booty! nobody wants to see "plumbers butt"!! Embarassed

Similar situation: pear-shaped body, short legs. NO jeans ever look good on me. But I have found some that look OK, and I practically live in them.

Does anybody else have a problem of really big thighs and bum, but quite skinny calves? Also, I have really slim hips, so clothes in general look pretty weird on me!

I have relatively slim hips and a normal rear end, but large muscular thighs and small calves like you mentioned. You might want to try a loose-fit wide-leg jean. Wider legs will help slim your butt as well as fit nicely over your thighs, while hiding the fact that your calves are so much thinner. I personally prefer lower cut jeans because I'm high waisted and sort - so low cut jeans look the best on me. But I've seen both normal cut and low cut jeans with wider legs this spring. They may work well for you.

Too true! All in all though, I'd rather have it spilling out the top than bulging under the waist band or under and over!

I love low rise, it suits my body shape because I have a very short trunk and they give me (the appearance of) some upper body length. Whenever I wear pants that come to my waist I feel like a sausage link tied in half. Bleh. The thing I like least about skinny jeans (muffin top aside) is how the material can be very tight about 3 inches below the bum and wrinkles start happening. Not pretty!
