Anyone else gain 4 lbs this week??

How does this happen?  4 lbs in one week.  Even if I wasn't dieting - 4 lbs in one week??? Amazing.  (And no - it's not that time of the month.)

Your weight fluctuates from week to week due to water weight and other factors. Have you eaten something high in sodium in the past few days? That can cause you to retain water, making it seem like you're up four pounds. Have you been doing weight lifting or strength training? That can also cause your muscles to retain water. In reality, gaining 4 pounds in a week is nearly impossible. You'd have to be eating 3,500 calories on top of the calories you're burning almost every day of the week to gain that kind of weight.

I suggest weighing yourself one day each week, preferrably in the morning right when you wake up after you've used the restroom. Then track your progress each month. I'm guessing after a few months, you'll notice your body is in a pattern or cycle, and that during week 1 or 2 of each month you're always up a few pounds.

Don't worry about this. Just keep eating right, be sure you're measuring and accurately counting calories, and you'll see that weight drop back to where it should be in no time. :-)

I'll do you one better.. I could gain 4 lbs in a few minutes, just drinking a half gallon of water.

Done that too!

If you are weighing in clothes, that could affect it, too.

Unfortunately not.  Foot in mouth

Yeah, this totally happened to me this week.  I weighed 133 last Friday, and weighed 138 last night!!!!

I attributed some of the weight to water since I drank alcohol over the weekend, but that doesn't account for all five pounds!  Plus, my pants are tighter and I look like I am 4 months pregnant.  I'm very upset.

I don't understand how I can look amazing one day, and then like a bloated chub five days later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

happened to me too.. been eating crap really late at night and it really catches up and now i cant seem to lose the weight to get back to normal.

I am in the same boat.  Gained 7 pounds in like 2 weeks and don't understand how.  I haven't been overdoing it "much"  well at least not enough to gain 7 pounds.  I don't know about this weight loss thing anymore.  I have been doing good for the past 2 days so lets c if I can lose some of the 7 this week.

Yep...me too.  But I know where mine came from...the Halloween candy dish.
