I know I am!! Roll on the 8-8-08!!!!

There is nothing better to motivate me than to watch the fit, toned and healthy athletes competing! Hopefully Ireland wins a medal!

What are your favourite events? I love all the athletic events, the swimming and the gymnastics.

I am looking forward to the Olympics also.. same events too! My favourite to watch is gymnastics, but also enjoy swimming, diving and track & field.

--> hopefully some medals for Canada too, lol

Not at all.

yes me and my friends are having an opening ceremony party on friday :D  can't wait I love the olympics.  my favorte sports are swimming and gymnastics as well.

yeah, i love 'em.  love love love.  it's perfect timing, because it provides incentive to get a lot of work done this week!  i have two major projects, and if they're both finished by friday, i am a free agent (well, sort-of) for the rest of the summer!

as a true canuck, though, i do prefer the winter games ;)

i don't generally turn the olympics on on purpose, but i enjoy watching gymnastics or diving if i catch it.  i'm still jealous of gymnasts.  my only goal in high school was to do a back handspring and i never got it... :(

kaytee, that's sad! You'll be watching all those gymnasts who can do back handsprings galore! Spare a thought for me, the girl who can't even do a tumble!

I am! can't wait until friday

Bump!

I love the summer Olympics and I will be watching this year, as well.

I love the swimming, although it makes me kind of wish that I had pushed myself harder and done something with my talent when I had the chance :\ But, I still get a kick out of watching the events...and diving as well. Divers are so talented!!!

I like gymnastics, too! Makes me wish I was a gymnast :)

i like the cycling, sailing, and equestrian events.  oh, and soccer.  just about everything, really.  except synchronized swimming; i don't get that.

I really can't remember a time when I was less excited for the olympics.  The sport I care the most about (wrestling) will be lucky to get 5 minutes of coverage during the hours when normal people are awake and even if it does get on TV international wrestling is almost unwatchable thanks to the idiots at the international governing body who are constantly changing the rules in a desperate effort to make the sport as boring as possible.

I also get fustrated at all the coverage of sports where the olympics aren't the pinnacle of the sport (basketball, baseball, soccer, road-cycling, tennis, etc) and sports that were added so they could put more girls in bikini's on TV (beach volley ball).

I'm kind of conflicted about it.  On the one hand I like international competition, on the other, I'm pretty soured on China for various reasons, and now they're planning on censoring the visiting media as well.

The only events we pay attention to with the summer olympics is soccer and volleyball, and even then I only watch because my hubby is.  I'm really just content with seeing highlights and final scores - but I count on my hubby for that.  The "experts" never pick out the really good saves or set ups like my guy can, and he provides better analysis and commentary too.

I'm excited! I'll, pretty much, watch all of the events :)

I AM SOoooooo EXCITED FOR SWIMMING!!!!!!  Love, love, love it!  I was a competitive swimmer growing up...it consumed 12 years of my life!

And yes...I'm a Phelps fan Embarassed hahaha

Did anybody watch the Olympic trials????  These athletes already broke several world records, just during the trials...I can't wait to see what they accomplish this Olympic season!  AMAZING!!!!!

One of my managers at the English school I teach at was on the South Korean swimming team for the Sydney Olympics. He was 17 when he went....

In no particular order, the sports I am looking forward to are: Diving, football (soccer), (I wish we got handball coverage here), swimming, gymnastics, synchronized swimming, equestrian, table tennis, BMX, and the martial arts.

Have to get through my final on Saturday first though.

I'm much more excited about the (american) football pre-season starting on Thursday.

:-)

OMG I am soo so excited!  I love it cause there's always something to watch!

Used to be a gymnast, so obviously love watching gymnastics. Also love sand volleyball (play vball too!) I like swimming and track and field too!

Too much to watch too little time! :)

lol I didn't even remember that the olympics were happening this year till now. I doubt I'll see any of the games since I don't have a t.v. May watch a bit at my parents' this weekend though.

true Canuck here too, and much prefer the winter games :P
I'm sooooo excited! I'm watching the opening ceremonies right now and it's amazing!

I'm definitely looking forward to the swimming portion. (Ex-competitive swimmer but a lifeguard now. :D) Phelps is a hottie haha but I'm really rooting for Torres. Swimming at an olympic level at 41, with no additional substances?? Amazing.
