hey everyone! =) I don't know about you but I ALWAYS have my TV on Food Network. I don't know what it is about Paula Deen, Emeril and Bobby Flay that I love but I can't seem to get enough of them! Anyone else love it?! What's your favorite show? Although I love them all, mine has to be miss Paula Deen for sure! I love her accent! XD

I am soooo glad to see this.  I love to cook and when I'm in the kitchen I constantly have the Food Network on.  I even watch shows that I've seen before, like yesterday!  It's pathetic.  My favorite is Alton Brown.  I love that guy because he tells you the WHY about food and not just the what.  I always hated recipes that said "do this" "don't do that" but did not say why or what would happen if say you used cold eggs when you bake, stuff like that.  My second favorite is Mario Batali, because he is extremely talented and an encyclopedia of Italian cuisine.

I like Paula too, probably because we share the same name! :)  But also because she makes the most delicious looking stuff I could never eat and eats it for you.  HAHA!  Would you ever make bread pudding with Krispie Cream donuts instead of bread???  Can you imagine the cal count on that little desert?  Meanwhile, I'm making recipes from my Cooking Light book.

Ok, I could go on forever, sorry but you hit my sweet spot with this post!  Happy cooking!
I love food network too.  Paula is one of my favorites, and I have used many of her recipes.  I love Alton Brown too.  For Christmas, my husband bought me a grill very similar to Bobby Flay's.  (Last summer I was grilling on a small, very small grill and I would sing...I wish I had Bobby's grill.)  I couldn't be happier with it.

I love to cook and even downloaded the entry form for the next food network chef, but I chickened out.
I have always been a fan of food tv, since I was little I would just sit in front of the tv and watch food being cooked. I am a horrible cook myself, but I love to watch so I can hopefully learn to be a better cook. My favorite is Alton brown. I watch good eats all the time. Love his show.

I also love watching $40 a day. I just love the whole challenge aspect, and the food that they show. 30 minute meals is also one of my favorite shows, but I know it would take me longer than 30 minutes to make one of thoses meals. I just love seeing how simple ingredents can really make a dish look so yummy.

I also love bobby flay, and Mario batali. I guess I can just name the whole line up. :)

edit: I forgot to say that my all time favorite TV food network show was the original Iorn chef and Ready Set Cook, do you remember that one?. These shows were the first food network shows I ever saw, and I was hooked ever since.
I love the challenge shows that they have on the food network.  It reminds me that one can be creative in the kitchen.  They do make me hungry though!  I like to watch the food network after dinner best, then I can relax and not get hungry watching all those chefs!
yay rachael ray!!! i always watch foodnetwork as well and cant wait to watch top chef later on tonight!!!

everyday italian i like.....oh and i also like $40 a day and tasty travels..hehe i guess im just a big rachael fan
lol yeah, same here! =)
I love food network. I always call it the cooking channel because when I talk to my friends about it I can never think of the name.

My favorite shows are Iron Chef America, Unwrapped, and Good Eats. Alton Brown is so funny and when I watch Unwrapped and see how candies and baked goods are maked so unhealthily it makes me not want to eat it.

I hate Barefoot Contessa though. It's funny because at the beginning of the year, for a new year's resolution epsiode, she said that she was going to have a healthy day that day. So what does that mean? Tomorrow you're going to go back to your overly unhealthy and fattening ways.
I adore Alton Brown!  He's the only TV chef out there with a genuine sense of humor.  The others may laugh or act bubbly but I get the feeling AB's almost doing stand-up with his dry delivery.  And I like the science part too.

Giada DiLaurentiis I like too.  (Even if I want to strap her down and stuff her full of twinkies once in a while.  How can she eat that stuff and stay so skinny?!?)

Iron Chef America is pretty good too.

I really don't watch any "chefs" so to speak, like Bobby Flay or Mario Batali.  Sandra Lee and Rachael Ray irritate me to no end.  I like some recipes but I can't watch their shows.  Paula's OK but I'd keel over dead in a week if I ate her food.  Butter Lady!

I LOVE PAULA DEEN!!!!
I love Food Network!!! I too must admit to even watching repeats of my fav's! Those include Emeril, Giada, & of course Paula! I also love Iron Chef and the challenges and stuff!!!

Practically all my recipes came from food network before I started on here!! Now I can still use some straight up... but have been figuring out ways to adapt others and they still come out pretty good!! Paula's especially needs some tinkering... lol!
who doesn't love nigella lawson?

I LOVE Paula and Bobby Flay!! If I had my way I could sit and watch the food network all day! Paula is awesome to watch, but her recipes are more of a fantasy, due to the amount of butter she uses in her dishes!! Bobby is just amazing. I love cooking on the grill and his recipes are delicious and creative!

I love when Barefoot cooks chicken for Jeffrey, so cute!!
Flowur, I'm totally with you.  I can't stand Barefoot Contessa.  She is so boring.  And she lives in some bizarre world far from mine.  I don't care for Sandra Lee and her tablescapes either.

Horray for all the rest of them.  I love Food Network!

I always wonder why they try to make Giada's show look like softcore porn?  The music and the camera angles of her hands handling and cutting the food.  It cracks me up everytime.
They do make Giada's show look like soft core porn. I never noticed that before. I frankly don't like to watch her show because there is no possible way she can eat the food she makes and be as tiny as she is. She probably takes the first bite for the camera and then they take it away from her.
Oooh, this is my absolute favorite thing to watch when I'm on the treadmill. Lots of vicarious pleasure and I can't do a darn thing about anything that makes me hungry (cause I'm so old I forget all about it by the time I get home.)

And I don't like Sandra Lee who gets TV time for assembling food and calling it cooking.
There's a funny video... I think I saw it on utube... that's a bunch of clips from various hosts on food network and them "enjoying" their food that makes it look like a porn channel... it's hilarious!!
ooooh i love love love the food network!  i'm such a foodie!

my fav show is christine cushing live (i think she's only on the canadian network); i've done tons of her recipes and they're always good and she offers lots of ways to make them healthier.

the surreal gormet is also really entertaining.

oh and that show with anthony bordain rocks!  it's like lonely planet (pilot guides) for foodies!

i love nigella too!  my friend does a wicked impression of her making out with her roast beef and potats hahaha.

Giada bugs the heck out of me!! She has to over pronounce every word and then SMILE A LOT!! I can't watch the show without getting totally distracted by her smiling!

Superlissa- I totally agree with you!
Alton Brown!  I've learned so many helpful things from his show.  You'd think every person would know the basics, but not so.  Alton taught me how to keep my carrots and celery fresh and crisp, how to pick out healthy (unspoiled) fruits and vegetables at the grocery store, and explained the rationale for adding olive oil to a pot of boiling pasta.

I also get a kick out of Iron Chef America.  It has only gotten better with Alton Brown as narrator.  I loved the (original) Japanese Iron Chef as well.  (I'm convinced both shows are rigged.)

One of my peeves about Food Network is that it seems every chef has to do a road show:

Alton Brown - Feasting on Asphalt
Giada - Giada's Weekend Getaways
Rachel Ray - $40 a Day
And I heard that Paula Deen's sons have a road show.

Makes me wonder if this is written into their contract somewhere.  So me peeve is the idea of watching people travel, shop, and eat.  I feel like I'm spending my time watching other people live fantastic lives.  Where's the fun in that?

I LOVE the food network! Too bad my apartment complex has included cable so I get 5 ESPN's and HBO's but NO food network! I feel so deprived haha...

Food network made me want to be a chef. I'm in business school right now and don't see the whole chef thing becoming a reality but BOY do I love to cook!!!!

Emeril, Mario, ALTON, Paula....soooo many.
