Anyone else a newbie like me?

Anyone else a newbie like me looking for support from "friends"?

I know that the weight loss battle is much easier when you have a friend standing beside you asking you "are you ready to walk up this hill together. There will be times when you push me and times when I push you, but lets take this hill side by side".

love to hear from other newbies like me!!!

I'm not a newbie, but wanted to welcome you to Calorie Count.
I'm sort of a newbie, I've been here a month.  Welcome aboard!  If you want support and non-judgemental "tough love," you have come to the right place.  Good luck! :)
tough love is what I need! there are times I get jaded by my own views and a good nudge from a friend is always wlecomed!

Thanks for the welcome!

I am amazed at all the progress a lot of you have acheived in the past year!! congrats and I hope to be one that can say " I started at 179 and now at 135!"

I'm a newbie, just signed up today! I've already lost about 15 pounds, but I have 66 pounds to go...that seems like a really big number to me. And its really hard when I'm the only one in my house trying to lose weight! That's why I ended up here, support from others that are losing weight will help keep me motivated! Good Luck on your journey!
Hi SUEANN!

YOU are a newbie like me! Congratualtions on the 15 lbs!!

I know how you feel about losing weight in a house that is not on a diet! My hubby is skinny and my son is a BEAN POLE! So, I am the only one who has to tell myself that I should not eat the remaining mac n cheese left from my sons lunch! Or the crust that I cut off his sandwich!

I hope that we both get support here and that we find others that have been there and can help us along this path of "enlightenment"
; )

Here is to your remaining 66, may it find its way out of your life!
You ARE GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!
Hi Jamie,

I am a newbie. I would love to have a support partner in losing weight. Please e-mail me CaringKate2001@yahoo.com

WELCOME NEWBIES

This place is great and it will change your life.  Everyone here is working towards better nutrition and exercising and that goes beyond weight.  Some are trying to lose weight, whiles others are not trying to lose weight but rather change their body composition or even gain weight (overcoming eating disorder) What it is really about is being healthy and living a longer happier life.

I feel like it was just a short time ago that i was new here.  I couldn't even wrap my head around how much i had to lose (70lbs) and yet I saw so may others sucess and it modivated me.  Now im down 42 lbs and it feels like it happened SO FAST.  Like the fat was peeling off me.   And the people who were farther along really carried me through the ups and downs (you too may have them).  Now I find I can manage my own progress, and feel I should return the favor and reach out to the newcomers.  So welcome.  If you have any questions, or frustrations or whatever please feel free to ask me or any other users like canadian chic because we are all here for eachother

Hi Jamie! Thanks for the encourgement! I know how you feel! I open the fridge and see all the good (fatting) foods that my sweetie cooks and I have to convince myself that I don't need it! The desserts are the worse! He never gains an ounce, and he loves the sweet stuff! I think we are all going in the right direction, the first step is the hardest!

SueAnn
thanks Htide.

It helps to hear about success stories. It gives me hope!

I am looking forward to being accountable to others beside myself.

Great job on your weight loss!!! Way to go and what an inspiration!

Jamie
Hiya :o)

So nice to meet all of you! I hope that we get to know one another even more in the next days, weeks and months....leading to years! I have 8 friends that I met online at the baby center and we have been friends for 3 years now and even try to get together once in the summer.

So, online friends are really awesome to me and hold a near and dear place in my heart.

I am on day 1 of counting my calories and why is it that I set myself up to fail? I get all geared up and tell myself that I am going to eat healthy today and what do I do? I ate chocolate cake today! My hubby brought it home yesterday and I ate some! AARRGGHh.. It is now in the trashcan. I am getting back on the horse and going to make better choices the rest of the evening.

I hope that tomorrow is an even better day!
Hi there....I, too, ama newbie.  I am on day 3 of this and I have only wieghed myself a fewe days ago to see the damage.  Its not like I have never done the losing wieght thing before.  I have battled it all my life.  I am really interested in being involved in the support from this, I know things seem to be easier if there is someone to share the battle with.  I llive alone so I don't have anyone influencing me in any way, but my willpower has been nil of late so I got rid of all the possible enticements.

I am actually looking forward to this, I pray that it goes well.  I've been high on positive feelings to keep me motivated.  Good luck all!

thats the best approach, we all blow it, the key is to recognize it without punishing yourself and wake up the next day resolved to do better.  I am highly succeptable to blowing it after dinner.  I used to have one bad thing, think i blew it and then have a all you can eat pitty party.  I still blow it, often, but now i am far more likely to say ok its not a big deal, just do not eat anymore, drink some water instead and try to do better tommorow.
Thanks htide.

I think that is the hardest thing to get through ones head that just because you blew it once, does not mean you are totally out of luck. thanks for the encouragement. I need it!

Thanks to your advice, I just drank some green tea and 20 oz of water.

tomorrow is a new day!

Jamie

Hi. I'm getting serious about losing weight. I'll be 40 in August and need to get some weight off. I'll be your support buddy if you'll be mine. You can contact me on yahoo messenger with my yahoo id shorttexaswoman just let me know who you are so i won't ignore you. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hey Guys! I just signed up and frankly don't know what the heck I'm doing other then I know I have to lose 50lbs. What do you guys eat  for breakfast, etc. any sugg would be helpful.

Looking forward to meeting new friends in the same struggle!
Hi thejgirl, I am pretty new too. We have the same goal and are about the same height! I'll add you to my friends list.
hey ches!

today is my second day of making better healthy choices! So this am my breakfast looked like this:

Dark rye Bread 80 cal
4 cooked egg whites (with "pure" spray) 68 cal
I cant believe its not butter spray 3 cal
coffee with coffee mate sugar free creamer 30 calories

I find that if I include a protein in the morning, I eat better throughout the day! Also, when I lost the first 24 lbs, I made a point to try and chose as many "live" foods as possible. Back then I tried to think "before eating it" is this going to place energy into my body or is it going to make my body work to digest it? NOT THAT I HAVE FOLLOWED THOSE RULES! But I am trying to get back to them. Day 2 of returning to my healthy way of life.

I hope this helps

Looking forward to supporting one another

Jamie
