Anyone else notice the increase in CC members who are kind of ..'jerks'?

Quote  |  Reply

What happened to the really nice supportive people who didn't make fun of others? I have been reading more and more posts where certain Calorie Count members spend more time making fun of other members comments, questions, or concerns rather than being helpful and supportive. Really what is the point in even adding an question, opinion or statement when it's going to be cut down by some negative person. Anyone else notice this fast growing trend? It really upsets me in a way that we are supposed to be helping one another whether it be through sharing the things that we have learned or by simply showing some support.

So please next time you think of cutting someone down or making a 'joke' at there expense think about how you would feel if someone did that to you.

Thanks for reading my little 'rant'

Have a fabulous evening : )

lol you guys are fantastic! Your so funny!

we practice.  a lot.

being jerks?

I haven't noticed that many jerks....a few here and there but what I do notice sometimes which isn't a big deal but sometimes annoying is when there is a thread of interest to me and a few people take it over with own conversation that has nothing to do with the topic and then someone who wants to still discuss the original topic comes in and posts and nobody responds except but those few people continue on with their own conversation.

What, you think it comes naturally?

what's really interesting is how often the person i thought was a jerk a few weeks/months ago ends up being a friend.

edit: to adopt the personal pronoun.  because i'm talking about my experience with jerks, not yours.

Does that mean we might be friends in a few weeks or months?

In this economy, there's no accounting for very much ;p

yep, 'gator counts.  and heatherleigh (i'm NOT typing that backwards anymore!).  giggle_puppy (aw - i miss him).  CD (the real one).

tom, there's a good chance you're next.

these things are not entirely voluntary.

edit to clarify: 'gator, you were never a jerk.  it's just the gun thing - y'know.  turns me into a raving maniac.

{{{{petitechick}}}}

sometimes you just have to roll with it

i am prone to this sort of thing because i will start composing a reply, have to leave my desk to do some bothersome work, and by the time i come back and finish my reply, they've moved on to denmark, sweden and finland (assuming we started south to north in the congo)

i'm also very guilty of the thread hijacking.  and while i apologize, i'm not likely to change.
