Anyone else notice the increase in CC members who are kind of ..'jerks'?

Quote  |  Reply

What happened to the really nice supportive people who didn't make fun of others? I have been reading more and more posts where certain Calorie Count members spend more time making fun of other members comments, questions, or concerns rather than being helpful and supportive. Really what is the point in even adding an question, opinion or statement when it's going to be cut down by some negative person. Anyone else notice this fast growing trend? It really upsets me in a way that we are supposed to be helping one another whether it be through sharing the things that we have learned or by simply showing some support.

So please next time you think of cutting someone down or making a 'joke' at there expense think about how you would feel if someone did that to you.

Thanks for reading my little 'rant'

Have a fabulous evening : )

kmw, just to keep you up to speed, jblarghp is talking about me.  at least she's usually talking about me when she calls out anonymous a$$h0les.  me and alibsam.

It's Thanksgiving - what care we for such?

Speaking of which - have a great one, lovelies. :D

Can I just add that I heart Spiro's anger almost as much as Pg's straight shootin'?

I think the catty one liners (the ones that are an attempt to be witty) are way worse. Occasionally a comment like this is understandable, but it's the repeat offenders that make me want to gag. Since when was being stubborn, miserable, condescending, and bitter, likable?

Never.  Sure is funny sometimes though.

 Sometimes.  Sometimes not.

I'd like to think mine are more on than off.

I'm not about to go there.

My statement was simply based on observations I have made.

Believe it or not I occasionally respect your posts. Yes, it's short lived, but it happens.

every time two posters agree, an internet fairy loses her wings...

there they go!

jblarghp, if that's true, i appreciate.  honestly, i'm not trying to pick at you here - just saying what you can't.  it actually makes me uncomfortable when people can't say what they mean, you know?

Quick!!  Clap your hands and the fairy might live to see someone fight another day!

Yep, understood.

It's just easier to type than Cougar-In-Training.  ;)
And... you might not say that if you read my journal.

Jblarg, it isn't ethical to complain about someone, then not mention who it is that you're complaining about. haha..

It would only help them grow, and change their shortcomings of character. Then again, it could just start a flame fest to see who has the most sensitive ego that needs defending.

Lol

I don't really care about her opinion of me.

Plus, I mostly only post in threads about religion/politics/abortion... so I'm not surprised people think I'm an a-hole. However, I'd hardly base my opinion of someone off some post on a forum.

OK fellow jerks! let the turkey slaughter begin Laughing

Enjoy!

Don't internet forums give people the freedom by means of anonymity to express more of their true character than in reality?

What about in the case of someone saying something racist, homophobic, and overall demeaning towards any group, person or persons? Is that not sufficient means to base a judgment of a person?

In addition, if you like someone on a forum because of their posts, wouldn't logic follow that you can also dislike or hate someone based on their posts?

I have a very low opinion of some people on the internet, especially on YouTube.
