I remember asking this a while back and I too get a similar feeling but not as intense.  It's a sort of burning and happens when I push myself to higher heart rate, say something more anaerobic than aerobic.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer cause I never found one myself.  I will say I stick to a lower heart rate though to avoid it.  I will also say that now that I've quit smoking for about 3 years (with a few slips) the problem is much less.

Were you or are you a smoker?  If so than maybe that is a common denominator. Good luck!

I get a weird lump in my throat that gives me a sharp pain when I eat my protein bars...

 nope. =(

i used to get this feeling when i was 10, too.

do you have heartburn/acid reflux? sometimes exercise can worsen that (thats what happens to me) and i get a dull burning heartburn feeling, especially if i am doing alot of bouncing around (ie running) because it kind of shakes everything up and allows things in my stomach to go upwards. i would try taking something like tums beforehand, and also waiting a while between eating and working out...

...BUT...i would talk to your doctor to make sure its not something more serious like chest pain from heart disease (angina).  if you have risk factors for heart disease (high bp, diabetes, high cholesterol, family history, etc) or already have heart disease this could suggest something more serious.   they can do an exercise stress test where you'll run on a treadmill while they monitor your heart with an EKG to make sure everythings ok....

When I work out I have to chew a piece of gum to keep my throat and mouth moist.  If I get too dry then its hard to breath and swallow and I get throat pain.  Since you can't work out and drink water constantly the chewing gum helps me.

and when your done you cough alot afterwards? I use to get this alot when i was like 13 lol i still get it if i work extreamly hard and ya its a pain lol but mine went away as i got more active maybe yours will to hpefully

 dido. chew the gum.. just don't choke! lol

hmmm... ill try thr gum thing. i'll also talk tonmy doctor. i doubt i have any of these things since im only 17

It might be because your lungs are out of shape, or you have a mild form of asthma like me(if you tend to cough a lot afterwards). I get that feeling after I jog about a km or so, but the sensation goes away when I jog some more.

As others have said, if it's really bothering you then check with your doctor. If there's nothing wrong then it's just a thing you'll have to get used to ;)
