Anyone else have twins?
Hi everyone! I just joined Calorie Counter and am ready to meet some people. Let me tell you about myself.
I am 30 years old. I am married to firefighter. We had twins in March 2008. They are very active now and are so amazing. Life sure is busy with one-year old twins running around! I am active in my church and teach Special Education students at an elementary school.
I have always been somewhat overweight. I think that I have always worn plus-size clothing! I am ready to be smaller and healthier! I need motivation and I feel like this site would be a good place to get that.
I would love to meet some people who have similiar needs or lifestyles as me.
Welcome! Congratulations on taking the first (and most difficult) step toward a healthier lifestyle!
I don't have twins but I do have an 8-month-old son (and a 4-year-old daughter). I don't know how you do it with two! My head spins just taking care of one infant.
I'm actually just the opposite of you. I've never had to worry about my weight and have always been skinny...until I had kids. I've managed to basically make it back down to my pre-pregnancy weight (my weight before my second pregnancy...I've never made it back to my weight before my first). I now just want to lose an additional 10-15 pounds to be truly comfortable in my skin.
You can do this!
Hi
I also have twins. My boys will be 3 in a couple of weeks. Congratulations on making it through the first year (definitely the hardest). Now my boys are almost three it's getting a lot easier and it's great that they have a playmate all the time.
I've had food 'issues' most of my life and I've been everything from painfully thin to overweight, but having children seems to have really changed me. I lost a lot of weight after the boys were born (exhaustion and breast feeding mainly) and I have a much more active lifestyle now. I'd like to lose a few more pounds, but really I'm trying to tone up. I may be a healthy weight but that twin mummy tummy is still sticking around!
You can definitely do it - look forward to chatting more
Hi and welcome to CC.
I have twins (boy and girl) they just turned 11 years old in March. I also have a 5 and 3 year old sons and a beautiful 6 month old daughter.
Like you I have always been overweight. Life gets really busy being a wife, mother and working full time. I am always making sure everyone else is taking care of that somewhere along the way I forgot to take care of myself. I am so glad I found CC I can cry and jump for joy some days.
I joined CC on 5/11/09 and set a monthly goal to toss away 10 lbs every month. Well today is 6/4/09 and I have lost 11.8 lbs so with only a week to go I reached my monthly goal. I still have quite a bit a weight to lose but with CC and the great people I've meet on this site I know I will reach my goal and I know you'll reach your goal too. If you need any motivation let me know because we ALL have our good and bad days.
Welcome! I dont have any children, but I do have twin sisters. My mom is a member of a a "club/group"called Mothers of Multiples or MOM for short. They are all over the country & they have local & national conventions. Twice a year they have yard sales & they are AWESOME. They get together & have dinners & have lots of fun (I've gone with my mom). You should search MOM & see if there is a group in your area-I know you would enjoy it! Best wishes!!
Hi ilovemytwins, I have twin girls who will be two on Aug 9Th and a son who will be 11yrs on Aug 6Th (Big month for me). I have not always been over weight just after pregnancy but it usually takes me a couple of years to get it off. I am a 33yr old SAHM Yes I know I am lucky but it can be really hard home w/kids 24/7. When we found out we were having twins I work until my 8th month. The we decided that I should stay home and raise them but because of that money is really tight around here and the stress I think has kept the weight on plus eating whatever the kids didn't finish. I want to lose 22 more pounds I have already lost 10 pounds just by walking my girls every morning and walking by myself for about a hour at night plus watching what I eat and counting calories. So if you want to write about kids, food, weight or whatever I will check in every day. Hope to hear from you soon....Amy
