Does anyone else's joints pop and creak a lot more since their ED?

Quote  |  Reply

My joints seem to make a lot more noises than they ever used to since my eating disorder.  Does anyone have this same problem?  What have you done to counteract it?  Should I start taking glucosamine supplements?  I already take a lot of vitamins.  Please help me out!

Weird you should mention this...I am really poppy, especially my hips and knees (and ankles, come to think of it).  I never attributed it to my ED, but I suppose it is possible. I wonder if it is related to a failure to get enough fat in our bodies? I have heard that fat helps to repair cartilage, but I don't know for sure.

I took glucosamine/MSM for a year and I really felt it was working.  That makes me want to start again.  We should start and be in touch and see what happens!

Ok, thanks!  I'm going to speak to my nutritionist about it and I'll probably start taking some soon.  Let me know if it works out for you and I'll do the same!

I know that my joints have gotten to the point where they ache constantly. My knees pop every now and then, but my hips have really gotten bad to the point where sometimes they pop out of place and I almost fall down while walking because it makes my legs go out of step. I never thought of it as being ED related, but as hilary77 said, I suppose it could be as well.
