Anyone enter their food intake a day later?
I keep wondering if it is pointless to enter what you ate yesterday. I mean you can't go back in time and change what you have already eaten. About all I can see it tell you is you food trend. Anyone find it encouraging or discouraging?
I definitely agree with you twink. I do it all the time - enter what i've eaten the day before on the following day. Usually its mostly what i ate for dinner as i usually update my other meals while i'm at work. It is true that you can't really do anything about the day that has gone, but it really helps you to be honest with yourself. After seeing what your total calorie intake for that day was you'll either be pleased with yourself or disappointed. If disappointed, then you'll be motivated to do better next time. So suseuser keep up on entering them even when you're a day late!
yep, I enter after the fact as well. I try to keep up during the day and usually do well, but a few times a week I eat something in the evening and don't log it. I try to make sure I enter the next day when I start that days entries. Keeps me honest and also let's me see a pattern and helps me determine what to tweak every week if I am not happy with my progress.
I normally enter my dinner the next day~ .... it helps w/ the monthly average to see the overall progress.
Nope. I plan and log my dinner while I'm at work, and sometimes even plan what I'm going to have the next morning for breakfast, and log that in advance too. I don't have a computer at home, but in addition, it makes sure I'm not going home thinking "there's nothing to eat" and gorging on garbage instead of eating something healthy.
I often enter my dinner, or even my dinner and afternoon snack the next day. I think there's a pretty big point to it: tracking your data makes it easier to see good and bad patterns and adjust as needed. Your dietary analysis for the week or month is meaningless if the data is incomplete.
Just knowing you are going to have to sit and enter it can make you reconsider eating it.
It's funny, I saw this thread right after I finished entering all of my food from yesterday. I usually try and enter it as I go along, but for some reason I never entered any of my food yesterday. I think it was probably because I knew I wasn't eating right and didn't want to see it written out. But I did enter it today for several reasons. I think the biggest reason, is so I can see just how far off course I went and make the necessary corrections today to offset yesterday. Plus, I know myself, if I say it is ok to not log in yesterday, then it will be ok to not log in that snack I just had, and it becomes a very dangerous slippery slope and before you know it I am not logging at all. I wholeheartedly agree with what johan3a said, if I know I will be logging it in eventually I definitely think twice before I eat it.

I agree with Jessica on this as it help me keep a mental picture of what I'm doind right or wrong. Also I think I get to my goal weight it will help me get a "feel" for whether I'm eating good or bad without having to run back to CC to verify.
I will enter things the next day if I don't have the time, energy inclination the day before.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
