Anyone who is frustrated about the new Calorie Count daily intake recommendations?

I suddenly feel a loss of motivation. I cat believe I can suddenly switch to eating 1320 kcal from 1600.....feeling like throwing in the towel.

I am just going to stick with what I have been doing.

I can understand your frustration!  If you were loosing on the higher number of calories I'd stick with them.  Actually the new calculation is better for me, previously I was told to eat 1500 cals a day (have 5 stone to loose), but I know I dont loose at that level (years of yo yo dieting!)!!  Much happier now the calculation shows 1340 a day, as generally eat about that amount and know its where i need to be to loose weight :)

I am pretending like it never even happened. ;)

the calorie target tool is broken---just go back to eating what you were :)

This.

I'm going to use the phord calculator until CC gets fixed. Their recommendations are absurd right now.

They only changed my caloric intake by 50 calories... I'm ok with it.

It changed mine by 400 calories. I actually followed it today because I'd made some adjustments to my settings before I knew that they had updated things. So I assumed that the 1275 calories it told me to eat were due to that change. I tried my best to follow it, but by 4pm, I was light-headed and nauseous. I spent the rest of my calories and then came onto the forums and realized that the number was off around 7pm. I redid my calories with the new adjustment when they fixed the meter and my eat meter went up to 1555 calories.

So after 2 weeks of strict calorie counting, I treated myself to a dark chocolate candy bar to get the extra calories in =) It was a pretty awesome end to a kind of annoying day.

It changed mine by 500 calories!  Oh mama!  The really sad part was that the new level believes I would have a 200 calorie deficit.  Um...no.

If I actually eat as the tool suggests I would have a 1200 cal deficit.  Talk about crash dieting!

It is quite a setback. Instead of changing the calorie intake on mine (It was already 1200 a day and couldn't go lower) it just increased the amount of days it would take to reach my goal by a month. :(

I really do hope it's broken.

I hope it's broken too, because I was playing around with it, and it recommended that a 130lb, 5'5, 13 year old eat 1419 calories to lose weight - I know CC hasn't worked for for teens in the past, but they shouldn't put the age range as low as thirteen if that's still true, because this is very unhealthy advice.

if 1600 has been working for you then there is no reason to change just because the site decided you should eat less! i've been happy with my results pre-change and am not eating -200 per day jsut because they decided to change it :)

It now lists my total daily burn as about 1400 calories. :( That's 200 under what it used to be.

Since I can't eat any less (1200cal), it just extended my goal date by about 2 months!!!   D:<  Now apparently I'm only getting a deficit of 200 calories per day and it will be November before I lose these last ten pounds!

NOVEMBER!!!!!!!!!

Grrrrrrrrrr....

People whose burn meter is still off - go into your account settings and make sure your activity level is set wehre you think it should be.
