Just a bit about myself, im 5.3" and 118lb, I came off bc in jan 08 and my period returned june 08, around that time i lost weight and was 107lb and was eating about 1500kcals a day but doing really intensive workouts, i had a really light period in nov and nothing since! In feb I upped my calories and made sure i get over 70g of fat a day, i have cut down alot on exercise too.
Has anyone regained there period after ther proestrin challenge? I took my last pill on tuesday and have started to bleed this morning, my doctor has told me to count the days from now until I get my next period to see how long my cycle is. Has anyone been successful with getting your period the next month after the widthdrawl bleed?
Just bumping this, has anyone had any experience with this?
I have not been on this but I think everyone is different in how they respond so time will only tell. I would encourage you to keep up with health because without it you will continue to have problems that you don't want. If you don't get your period and your weight/calories are good then I would talk to your doctor about the concerns. Sometimes it takes a body awhile to balance out. When you say you upped your calories though what are we looking at because this is vague and the before at 1500 and excercise could be an issue.
I upped my calories to over maintanence (1800) and went from 107-118 from feburary to end of march, I have never weighted more then 118. I have cut down on exercise and now do 45minutes 3 times a week, usually 30minutes weights and 15minutes cardio. I have a heart rate monitor and eat back what I burn so when I workout I usually eat upto 2200 kcals. A typical day I eat:
8am Breakfast: bowl of all bran with full fat milk, bowl of oatmeal mixed with peanut butter, sunflower seeds and flax seed, cup of tea
11.30 Lunch 1: 2 eggs scrambled, natural yoghurt and some pumpkin seeds
2.00 Lunch2: Salad with lettuce, onion, pepper, tuna in oil, dressing, hommous.
4.00 Snack: Banana
6.00 Dinner: Turkey breast, lots of veg, olive oil, chopped tomatoes, either lentils or pasta and herbs and after 2 squares of dark chocolate.
8.30 Snack: Oatmeal and peanut butter
10.30: yougurt with strawberries and cottage cheese.
I have never had an eating problem and all my hormones were normal when they were tested other than estrogen being a little low.
