Ok well Ive been checkin out alot of posts and I still dont get the whole % thing. Does that meen that I look that the DV %s on the nutritional information. I just dont get it. This is getting complicating. Oh ya and Im confused on the sodium thing too. I at a beef jerky last nite and boy was it loaded with sodium. I meen like 1200mg. Do u think snacking on that stuff and the pickles are making me not lose weight. I know I just started. Anyways why was I able to snack on cheese, beef jerky, and low carb stuff before and lose weight. I could have kept it off if I had kept doin the rite things. Anybody out there have any answers:))

I don't understand about the % thing but I do know that if you have a water retention proble....high sodium consumption is a big no no....It will cause retention of fluid which in turns....cause increase weight gain. Though, you would accurately see the lost of body fat....as soon as the fluid weight is lost.
Nice N Sweet!
Ok when you were on Atkins (you were right)? You were eating mostly protein and fat probably with minimal carbs. When you do this you do lose weight I wont lie to you. It is harder for your body to turn protein into fat than it is for carbs. So when you eat minimal carbs there is less for you bosy to immediatly convert into sugars and fat on your body therefore you lose. ( I am not a doctor just from what I have read this is how it works). The only problem is while doing this you are not doing good things for your body as a wholw. Your cholesteral and waht not could be suffering.
I too have the CARBS ARE BAD engrained in my head because I went over 6 months without eating any sugar or flour. So if there is sugar in the ingrediants or flour I have a hard time putting it in my mounth but I have realized that this is really the way I need to be doing things to live a long and healthy life.
So with the % thing it all goeas back to the food pyramid. You should have 5-6 serving (keep serving sizes in check 1 slice of bread is a serving) 2-3 protein, 4-5 serving of vegies, 2-3 fruits and I believe 1-2 fats. Please dont quote me on that but that is kind of where the % comes from.
You can try to have more protein and less carbs but you need them to survivie. You will lose weight either way you decide to do this. Atkinsest diets are just a lot harder on your body and really arent supper healthy.
You can still choose to leave certain starches out of your meals (rice, bread, potatoes) but let your self have a little whole grain like oatmeal for breakfast and maybe a half sandwich for lunch.
Also last but not least if you eat bars (life snack bars, luna, aouth beach, cliff, whatever brand you choose) watch the sugar conent. Here you should be looking for more protein tha sugar. (DONT WORRY ABOUT THE NUMBER OF CARBS). It will be hard trust me I know, but I hope this helps. You will be able to do this a lot easier than other lifechanges (oh and I still only eat the bottom bun with my chicken buurgers :) I cant bring myself to eat the whole thing)

hey guys thats alot for that helpful advice. I dont know Im just an impatient person. I want to see the results that I saw before and that fast. What is discouraging is that I started a new approach on Monday which was the lower calories approach and I have not seen the scale move like it did last time. Youre rite HeidiHagen I cannot put the breads in my mouth for some reason I dont think Ill be able too. (well...I have to say except for last nite when I had a major slip-up..Refer to topic: I am offically ashamed of myself). This whole thing sucks esp having to lose as much weight as I do. Uggg this is just the beginning I have to calm down and be PATIENT!! THANKS AGAIN:))
I know exactly what you mean. I have done tons of lose weight fast stuff but I just remiond myself of much wosre it is when I gain it back. Oh and as for the slip up. Your body probably wanted CARBS!!! Your brain likes them for funtion! Shoot me a note anytime you need support or have questions. I am not an expert but I have been there and my mom has too. She then switched to calorie counting and although it took a while she has kept it off for quite sometime now!
If you're eating a lot of salt just make sure you're drinking plenty of water, and eating water-rich foods. It should flush the sodium out and reduce any water retention.
Hay Heidi, Tracker great advice thanks. So i guess I dont have to freak out about the whold sodium thing. U see I though that my Crystal Light to go packs in my bottled water counted as my water for the day. But I heard that it really doesnt. A fellow CC friend just suggested drinking my crysal light bottle followed by a regular bottle of water. I think Ill do that. What ya think??
I count my crystal light water. i just dont htink that should be all the water you consume. If you are having trouble with the transistion dont go cold turkey you might fall off the wagon! Just think of your crystal light as treats once or twice a day or have you tried Propel?? It does have 30 calories in a bottle but when I work out I seem to enjoy it! :)
I have tryed Propel I really didnt like it. Umm but ya I cant do the plain water thing its too plain/boring for me. I really have minimized my diet sodas though. I hope to do good this long weekend though:)
Try just watering down the crystal light a little bit. buy a anlgene bottle and use that. They hold 32 oz. It is better to get your water with Crystal light than not at all!
I weighed yesterday. Didn't eat much but drank diet soda all day (that's a big downfall for me.......I love soda) and when I weighed today I was shocked to see a 4lb GAIN!!
