Does Anyone Here Ever Get Hungry?????
It seems like people on CC feel full on 12-1500 calories a day. HOW???????? I am aiming for 1800 a day and it's sooooo hard! Every calorie is so precious and I have to ration them so carefully. I eat a lot of low-cal, healthy foods, but I always want more! I spend so much of my day trying to distract myself from my hunger. But if I up my calories I know I won't lose the weight. It's just so hard. And it shocks me when I see these posts where people find they're getting enough food on 1300 calories a day. Are you NUTS???
I'm starvin' marvin here.

I think you can go one of two ways...
1. This summer I ate 1200 calories but didn't exercise.
2. Now I eat 1600 - 1700 calories a day and run off 500 calories five days a week.
It works both ways, I've lost twenty pounds. I'm personally much happier with the latter, and I don't want to eat someone. Plus I can think about other things and not think of only food (although it still consumes a lot of my thought) all day.
I absolutely agree. It is very hard to feel full on fewer calories than you normally eat, especially if you love to eat, as do I. But I agree with the statement made about forcing yourself away from the situation, and drinking water. If you start cleaning, or if you go to Wal Mart, even just to browse around to get away from your cabinets, you can take your mind off of hunger. It is all about viewing your stomach as half full of food or half empty. It sucks so badly that so many of us have to revolve such a large part of our lives around what we put into our bodies, and that something as simple as eating plays such a large role in our happiness. But the results will be worth the struggle, I think. I picked up this month's issue of Oxygen magazine, and it really put it into perspective for me. They said, you can either treat yourself to chocolate all the time, or you can eat it sparingly and treat yourself to the body you have always wanted. And that pair of shorts you have always wished you could wear. Whatever your motivation, keep it close in your mind and closer to your heart. And keep in contact with fellow losers (weight losers, that is) like us!
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!!! =)
eat natural yoghurts and plain processed brans, i find this helps me stay fuller in the mornings! but i no what you mean.... its impossible for me to stick to this eating pattern, but i would rather be healthy :D
I eat 1200 calories a day. I have trouble eating as much as that, strange though it must sound. I used to fast, or eat the bare minimum (I know, lesson learned) so now that I'm eating a normal amount I feel like I'm eating too much and worry that I won't lose any weight. I'm also busy a lot during the day, so I don't have time to be hungry. All of this is good I suppose, as it stops me from binging which used to be a real problem for me.
I do so well during the day, probably consume approx. 1000 kcals before I get home from work. Once night comes, I want to eat everything in sight! Always treat myself to a cup of sugar free ice cream and glass of wine after my salad full of veggies for dinner. Any suggestions other than chewing on gum or drinking water??? Any things to snack on that are low cal and very filling??? I've tried fiber one but it's too dry alone.

I'm always hungry. lmao. But it could also be symptoms of stress of boredem as well....
Very true!
Well by reading all these responses you should feel confort knowing we all feel you pain sister! I have been drinking tons of water. When i absolutely cannot have one more drop of water I have a crystal light, does the trick. If i am really hungry I have a cup of natural, homemade veggie soup (arounf 60 cals.) We'll be alright though! Keep busy and positive!
Boredom is the worst thing for a diet. My big problem is sitting down in the kitchen for prolong periods of time. Its way to dangerous and bad things will happen. When I do sit there I feel like a food addict looking for my next fix. I’m not even hungry but I have a need to eat something. The bigger problem is once you start its hard to stop. Keep busy. I try to clean something or play with the kids. Another hard time is after the kids go to bed. It’s just too quite. Then here comes boredom again.
As far a diet I have found that High Fiber and Water keeps you full longer better then anything else. Keep away from foods like chips and sugar foods. It costs too much in calories and never fills you up.
Try splitting up you daily calories into many little meals. (I currently eat 170 cals 10 times a day.)
Best hunger foods for me.
1 Cup of Fiber One bran cereal 57%. 120 Cals (Then drink some water. It will fill you up.)
Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal (Maple & Brown Sugar my favorite) 160 Cals
Green Giant Steam Bag Broccoli with cheese 142.80 Cals (Use Coupons save a ton of money or make your own bag.)
4 Egg Whites 64 Cals
Small Corn Tortilla Shell 25 Cals and 1 Kraft 2% Sharp Cheese Slice 50 (20 seconds in the microwave then add cheese and go another 10 seconds.
Salad (My last option but it does work very well.)
