I was wondering if there are any mom's out there who wanted to start a group for mom's trying to lose weight.

Your kids can be any age.  We could hae weigh in's etc. and encourage each other....

Let me know if anyone is interested!!

count me in!!!!!
alright-  so shall we all give our stats?

Age

current weight

goal weight

kids ages

your weakest/hardest part of losing the weight

and anything else you want to add!!
Age: 24

starting weight: 181.40

current weight : 172.00 (5'4)

goal weight : it says 128...but i would be happy at 140

kids ages 2 1/2 and 4 in september

your weakest/hardest part of losing the weight: fast food, candy and eating at night.

and anything else you want to add!

I think this is a great idea! I always feel a little "different" as a mom trying to lose with the mommy belly and all. It would be nice to have others to swap stories with :)
Age 24

current weight: 182 (5'3)

goal weight: about 140

kid: 2 1/2 (girl)

Hardest part: no time for gym since I'm full time employee and full time student, love chocolate and sugar, and too tired to cook.
Here's mine:

Age 24

Current Weight: 132

Goal Weight: 120

My daughter Clara will be one in september

Hardest part for me is making time to work out and eating sugar.  I also have a hard time eating up to my calories.  I am like a WALKING plateau!!

How often Should we post???
Hey, great idea, I'm game!  Thanks!

Name:  Jerri

Age:  32 -- Ssssshh!  :-)

Current Weight:  274

Goal Weight:  140

One son, age 2-1/4, happy as can be, slightly crazy.  I claim no responsibility.  He gets it from his daddy's side.  Hehe.

Hardest part for me is making myself get on the treadmill, no matter how tired, busy, or not givin' a crap I am that day, regardless of the fact that I KNOW I'll feel great when those endorphins kick in if I JUST GO AHEAD AND . . . . GREAT BIG SIGH . . . DO IT.  :-)
Good idea,

Age 35

weight 153 (down from 168 since May)

Goal weight:  135 (a little less would be okay too)

Kids: ages 9, 4 and 3

Biggest challenge: not making excuses for eating poorly and not exercising.  Life with kids is busy, but that's not an excuse anymore.
How do you get exercise with kids?

I take mine for a bike ride almost daily. This seems to be really helping lately.
I 'll join in on this one!~~

stats
age 38
 weight 170
 goal weight 135
 height 5'3"
 Kids age 7, 5, 3 and 2

hardest part: changing old habits!!!! It is SO easy to lick my fingers after I make the kids a sandwich, or pop that last bite in that the kids didn't eat, that sort of thing. Exercise has been a tough one for me too but I did just find a new fun way to exercise!

Our house has a circular floor plan, and my kids love to play "chase".  I set the microwave timer and play the monster for 30 minutes!  I usually carry my 2 year old piggy back as I run. It is really a blast, gives me fun time with the kids, and I get my exercise in! It's alot harder than it sounds to make it through a full 30 minutes!!!

When shall we say we all need to post?

Should we have a weekly weigh in?  Or do we all want this to be a daily thing?
This is great! I need the encouragement.

I am 32

Starting Weight 131

Current Weight 125

Goal Weight 115

Kids ages 18(boy)-15(boy)-12(boy)-8(girl)-6(boy)

Sometimes I just want to eat everything, espically that time of the month. I also need to be healthy I have Endometerosis, so I would like to try and get in the best shape as possible, I am done with having children.
I agree...awesome idea!!!  ...Do you all wanna have a specific day(s) where we do a weigh in, progress check, etc??? Or just do it random, like every day, haha!

Age: 23

Height: 5'2"

Current weight: 122lbs

Goal weight: 110lbs

Kids:  One daughter.  3 1/2 months old.

Biggest challenge:  I do great with eating healthy foods and counting calories...I just need to get of my ass and work out more! haha! Like a lot of you, finding the time to do it is a bit of a challenge.  Lately, I've been having my husband watch the baby for and hour after he gets home from work, so I can get some exercise in. Seems to work pretty well.
Nalani-  congrats on your goals!

Can I ask how tall you are?

I hope to have 5 kids too!
opps sorry i'm 5'2 and a half.

I thought I was forgetting something.

your weakest/hardest part of losing the weight: everything! my hectic life, working nights, school, family, the fact I'm so far from my goal, but mostly just getting started and getting 'a plan' together.

and anything else you want to add!: and I cant wait to get rid of this mommy belly! I feel like it walks into a room before I do!
wow nalani, you were a really young mommy!
you resemble j-lo, btw :)
Count me in!

Age 30

Starting weight 220

Current weight 212-213

Goal 150

childs age 4

I love food not even snacks real down home mashed potatoes rice corn fried chicken, pork chops types of comfort food, macaroni and cheese.

Name: Christina

Age: 28

Start weight: 190.8

current weight: 185.4

goal weight: 135

Height: 5 foot 7

kids ages: 13 boy, 11boy, 8 girl, 5 boy, 3 1/2 girl

your weakest/hardest part of losing the weight: Staying motivated to what I need to do. I also run a vending machine company so having all of those snacks in the house all day is very hard.

I think we should weigh once a week, Maybe sundays or mondays so it will keep us in check on the weekends, (most peoples hardest time of the week).  Someone could be in charge of creating a weekly post to track the group as a whole, that way we wouldn't have to read 30 posts to see how everyone is doing, it will all be in one update.  I would be willing to do that if noone else wants to do it.
