Would anyone be interested in this tool?

Hey y'all...I posted this last week on the calorie-count forum (not sure if it was the right place)...got lots of emails, but no posts on the forum, so I was wondering if I put it on the right place. I thought it would be such a good thing for someone to go back and look at their net totals (whether its a calorie excess or deficit), to see if they're right on, or maybe why they might not be losing. Maybe weigh in (pun intended) if you think it's a good idea or unnecessary...? My feelings won't be hurt if you don't think so 8-)

(I cut and pasted a blurb from the post below):

There are already the super helpful tools that let you select a date range to check activity logs and food logs. How about a tool that:

How about a tool that:
  1. Takes your total calories consumed
  2. Takes your total calories burned (your activities and your BMR/RMR thingie)
  3. Comes up with a net total for the day, and
  4. You can look back on your last week or two and peruse your daily totals (maybe show the contributions of consumed vs. burned in each)
This would be great to look back and see what you're doing RIGHT...or possibly wrong (as in someone who's hit a plateau and can't figure out why).

I love this idea:

You're right...I guess the first two are in place already...

I would like to be able to look back and see net totals...that way, if I'm stumped about why I'm not losing weight like I want, and I see that I'm only creating a 50-100 calorie deficit per day (or even going over)...or maybe I'm creating too much of a deficit. Or, if I've hit a hot streak, I can look at what I'm doing right.

Yes, I do realize that I could do the math myself and plot it out over te days, call me lazy...but a tool would be so much nicer 8-)
dsangela:

I made a tool that does just that plus some.  It does the cal in vs cal out and makes a running tally and converts it into lbs gain/loss, mL of fat burned/gained, and L of fat burned/gained.

Imperial folks, a L is about a quart.  A can of pop is 355 mLs

really gave me motivation.  When I lost my first quart of fat I was absolutely exalted!
I am totally on board with this idea and wanted to post it the other day...then I read yours.  Your forum entry was very detailed and easy to understand...wonder why no one really hopped on the band wagon...I think it would be great!  How can we get Eriks attention...I know he is so busy right now!  Did you make a suggestion in the "To Do"s ??
