Does anyone know how I can lose 1 to 2 pounds?

I weigh 135 now. YEAH!!!  But I've only been losing about a half pound a week.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining.  I'm very excited about getting down to 135.  But we are going on vacation in November and I'd like to lose about 2 pounds a week to get into some walking shorts for Florida.  According to CC I burn about 1600 cals a day at a sedentary rate.  I'm supposed to consume 1200 cals a day.  I'm barely 5 foot and I'm considered slightly overweight.  Anybody have any ideas?

2 lbs a week will be very difficult at your size.  Since you can't go lower than 1200 calories, you'll have to increase your expenditure to increase your calorie deficit.  What kind of exercises do you like?  Maybe you can start walking around your neighborhood more, or join a gym?

I feel your pain, I'm 5'3" and burn about 1670 a day at a sedentary rate.

However, I've lost about 4 lbs in the past 4-5 weeks by exercising.  Actually, I think I burn more than 1670 (i track my weekly deficit, and it was about 2700 one week but I lost a full pound, and kept it off-not water weight) which may help...but if you add some exercise in there, you can easily get to a rate of 1 lb a week.  Basically just do something small like a long walk around your neighborhood to get your burn for the day around 1700 or 1800, then you can eat 1200-1300 and lose 1 lb a week.

Basically, you'll have to exercise to get a faster rate :P  Shorter people just unfortunately burn less calories than other taller people

If you keep at it you'll lose it eventually.  Have you seen the CC+ Library?  We now have About.com experts available.

You and I are about the same weight right now.  I'm 135 down from 150...goal weight 125, but will continue on after that.  I'm 5'3".  I've been SLOWLY losing the last week or two and I'd like that to speed up, but it just won't .  I know I need to get my butt on the treadmill more, but its hard when you're busy.

I'm going to try zig zagging.  Maybe eat 1200 one day and 1400 the next...keep it around 1300.  Although I've got in the habit of it being about exactly 1300.  Seems like if I eat less than I'm hungry.  Mainly, I just need to get into the exercise routine again.

Good luck to you!
Yeah, I know what you mean.  I started a sore throat and cough about a month ago and feel okay, but this cough won't seem to go away.  It's keeping me puny enough to keep me off the treadmill.  Which really stinks, because I was doing so good at excersing consistantly.  I was actually almost jogging on it, (I am not a runner, my knees don't like it).  I try to power walk on it though.  I think if I could just get completely over this cough, I'd be able to get back to it.  And then maybe I would lose faster.
I don't know. But I wish I did!  I have lost five pounds and am at 135 right now.  I'm about 5'1" and am having a hard time losing.  Part of it is my problem (having a problem with consistency).  Good luck to you!
