This is going to sound weird, but a good way to lose water weight is by drinking water. It works because when you drink a lot of water, your body's sodium concentration lowers, and your body flushes sodium out with the water when you pee. Since sodium is what made you retain the water in the first place, you end up with less sodium and less water.

Most of the pills that make you lose water weight contain diuretics like caffeine or cause you to have diarrhea. Besides being kinda gross, doing it the pill way makes you overly dehydrated. Since your body needs water to distribute nutrients to your cells, being dehydrated is bad for you. Plus youll be thirsty and feel like you have less energy.
Right on kaja and I'm walking proof! I had and still do have water retention most often but when I drink enough water everyday, I notice I'm not as swollen. Stay away from caffeine and soda. Drink half your body weight in oz. with water. For instance: If you weight 200 pounds...half of 200 is 100...so you should drink 100 oz. of water a day. It works. Add some green tea as well! Good luck!
Largely cut out salt from your diet (avoid salty foods and never add it to your already cooked meal). I am a salt fiend but I find if I replace it with pepper I don't miss salt as much at all, it's amazing.
I agree with the other posters.  The best way to lose water weight is to drink more water!  When your body is getting enough water, it will let go of reserves it was hanging onto.
Just drink lotsa lotsa lotsa water.  I drink a minimum of 64oz a day.  I went to Walmart and got a 32 oz drinking bottle (with the pop top and it has an easy to hold handle for when you're hands are full (like carrying everything but the kitchen sink to the car in the morning). I fill it twice and I know I've gotten my water for the day.  If I fill it a third time - good! :)
I do the same thing as cjeka, only with a liter water bottle. I buy one at 7-11, and refill it. If I drink two, I'm happy, but I usually try and go for 3, especially if I've worked out.
Drink water with lemons & limes - they are natural diuretics. You can even buy lemon/lime juice, which is what I do because it's easier than chopping up lemons & limes. Trust me...it works! And it tastes great too :-)
