Anyone who is/were 200lbs (90kg) and above and want to lose alot of weight?

Hi, I'm 90kg (200lbs) and I just started dieting. I plan to do this for long and hopefully lose alot of weight. My ultimate goal would be 50kg (110lbs), but my current goal is to reach a BMI of 30. I'm currently at BMI 34.

If anyone's in the same boat as me, I would like to get to know you guys and we could help each other in losing weight. Hopefully someone's already halfway near their goal (or more), as that would really be inspiring to me.

Hi Claire, welcome to CC

I was very similar to you.  I started out at 220lbs, I am 5'4" too.  You will find lots of support.

Wow CanChick, you've lost 68lbs! That is truly, very inspiring. I want to lose that amount someday.

I guess I'm in about almost the same boat as you are also. Currently, I weigh 214 lbs, is 5'6", and I want to get down to 150 lbs. (I have a very athletic/muscular built but I might go lower depending on how I feel at that point.) Feel free to add me as a friend and hope you'll enjoy yourself here at CC!

I WAS at 300 lb. (How many kg is that? 135?). I'm down to low 250s (if I don't cheat and let myself get dehydrated) and looking to get down to 200.
Hi Claire!  Welcome aboard!

I started at 284, and am now at 222.  My goal weight is at or just below 150, so I'm almost (5 pounds away!) halfway there.  :)

I'll be here for the long haul, as they say.  :D

Hola! I started at 205, and down to 191 so far. Im looking to get down to 136, and then decide from there whether to tone, or lose more. Good Luck, Claire and Wam73! It'll be easier than you think ;)

I'm 5' 6" too but a chick.... I too am trying to get back down to 200 pounds- at my heaviest- I was 308! But today am down to 291.  A couple of years ago I got down to 200 but then old habits came back and I gained back 100 plus pounds....now I've realized that this will be "life long." I'm 40 and it has finally taken this long to get into my head.  I was ok at 200- size 16.  Perhaps if I really, really work I could get to be a size 14 but I think probably hard to maintain- so 16 is what I'm shooting for and shooting to stay at too! I joined about 6 months ago....but then one day of not going on the site lead to 2 days, then a month, 2 months etc...and suddenly I was sitting at work one day trying to remember this website. I found it again last week and have resolved to try to come daily to every other day.... My dog is my coach!

Welcome to CC.  I am 5'5" and 223 lbs currently.  My goal weight is 135.  I have been a member since Sept. 3rd and have lost 9lbs.  I started out at 232.  You can add me to your friends list if you want so we can all work together and support each other.  There is also 100 pounds to lose club in the forums.  Obsydian is a really good inspiration person to talk with, she has lost a lot of weight and can help you out too.

Congrats on being down to 291, however :)

And, yeah, it'll be life long. It's a lifestyle change and not a diet. :) You can lose weight and keep it off, but you gotta keep working on it. :)

First of all, welcome to c-c.

I started on July 1st at 202 lbs.  I have lost 17 since then.  I am also 5'4" and would like to get down to 130 lbs, but I have put a short term goal:  go down to 170 lbs before Xmas.  If I lose more, it would be great, but if I don't, I hope it will be at least that much.  I certainly think it is doable.

I have to do this for health reasons.  So, my motivation is health.  It is not always easy, but I keep a monthly log of my weight loss, and if I see a loss of 5 lbs/month, I am happy.

People are great here, and always willing to help.  So, don't hesitate to ask questions.

Hello All,

I've been watching community forums and struggling with my weight (232 lb in Aug 20 when I first joined CC, then down to 223 and now back up to 232; I'm 48 yrs old, 5'6").  I decided to join this community to help me keep motivated -- I have about 90 lbs to lose and that's a long-term job!

My Mom recently died following a bunch of chronic illnesses related to her long-term obesity (she was about 5' tall and weighed nearly 300 lbs).  This has gotten me motivated!  Also, my husband who was always a large man has gotten his weight down (from 300 to 260 and dropping).  I just can not imagine weighing more than my husband! 

So, let's go!  And, thanks for the help!
