Anyone out there looking to drop 100 lbs?!?
I am aiming at losing 100 lbs if not 120lbs. Anyone else out there needing to drop a significant amount of weight? If so hit me up. I know the large amount of pounds that you're looking to shed can be overwhelming so let's stick together. Lets lose lots of pounds together.
May I join in if it is not to late
Start weight 393
current 364
goal 250.
I am on a diet from a gym trainer I workout 4-5 days on treadmill for 30-45min then lift weights for 20min. Right now I am still going strong I began the journey in march..
thanks, for the encouragement. Actually, I do ride, and it doesn't bother me to ride 30 miles--my husband says I need to do intervals, and I can tell it really gets my heart rate up. With gas prices so high, I'm not driving out to our bike trail to ride anymore, but taking shorter, interval type rides around my neighborhood. Thanks again!!!

ddsparker - back from my riding days - the main part of the body riding did not seem to get worked as well as walking were the stomach and inner thighs. I used tow clips and cleats and dropped bars (road bike - I know now they have better foot attachment optionss) and of couse -high RPMs constant pedaling even downhill) - - - I remember doing intervals too. I need to get my rollers back out; they were great -- no resistance but you could get a good workout --I don't even know if I could find a new belt for my Weyless ones!

mojojo - I don't think it is EVER to late to join - welcome! There are some other men on the email as well [I know it is some different for guys than gals but it is all fat]

I have added cycling to my exercise routine too. I even got some shoes with clips. No way I could ride 30 miles yet though. That is still a way off. Fortunately I am in Southern California where you can ride just about year round. We have beautiful riding weather right now, so I am riding outdoors.
I want to join one of the cycling clubs in the area. I think that would add some fun to riding. I saw one club pull into their breakfast stop the other day. Lots of grey hair, but not much fat on that bunch. It must be good exercise.

this is a place where many people have been helped.
This is a great place. Welcome, and best wishes on your new journey!
the bicycle rollers sound very interesting. My husband and I have discussed purchasing something like that, your bike fits onto it, but I don't think it's the same thing--I don't think you have to balance yourself or worry about riding off of it!! They cost about 200dollars, but if you will really use it, it's well worth the cost.
Ok everyone. I am new to cc and this is my first thread. It really sounds like everyone is really encouraging eachother through this forum, so I think I will give it a try. Today is my first day, so no weight loss yet, just a combo of baby weight (although I can't really blame it all there, he is 3 now
) and getting too comfortable after being married. I have managed to get up to where I have never been before and I am ready for a fresh start.
I have about 150 lbs to lose and I am ready!!
Sorry. I haven't checked in since my first post, but I always read everyone's posts for encouragement. I weigh myself on Monday mornings, and I was really disappointed last Monday when I had only lost .5 pounds after what I thought was a fairly good week for me! I was bummed for a while, but then realized, it was still a loss and that's really all I can ask for! Anyway, I've hit the gym harder this week and am hoping to see a bigger difference this Monday. Wish me luck!

You have lost a good bit of weight in the 3 weeks overall [love those graphs], so maybe your body is catching up and taking a breather. And it is going in the right direction. I would be proud of what you have done so far!!!!
I know this has happened to me and when I cranked up the excercise and did not eat enough it did not budge down, It is counterintuitive but if this happens to me next time I am going to explore eating more not less - - but then other posts says they did not increase intake with excercise -- others say bigger people can take a bigger deficit --- it is all confusing indeed and I imagine we are all different!!
Keep good notes and do what works for you; and LET US KNOW we are all learning and here to help each other.
Hey, everyone--I had my WI this morning and was down 1 lb--that puts me at
270.5. I wasn't expecting a loss at all, because I had two days with over 2000 calories. I guess there is some merit to varying your calorie intake a little over the week.
Wow! amazing encouragement everyone. It is a breath of fresh air to read about everyone that is in the same position i am. I started my weight loss journey about a month ago and sometimes it feels like im the only one in the world that has to deal with major weight loss. Some days i think to myself that it is impossible. But i remember that I got this way slowly and i will have to take it off slowly. Reading everyone's reply's really helps me keep going
Thank you

Hey Jericho & everyone...*wave*
Well, I got on the scale today...and it showed that I've lost 6 pounds this week! Yay! *does the happy dance!*
I was beginning to wonder if the scale would ever move.
I was in a slump the past two weeks. But counting the calories and being faithful to doing cardio has paid off. There's no room for guesswork in this thing...gotta be honest and put everything down. I think part of my problem was just trying to find out how many calories I need. Gauging from this last weeks numbers the total calories I need to stick to is around 1600-1700. At first I was eating too little...around 1200-1400, then I ate too much...close to 2100 calories. I'll stick to what's working and go from there I guess.
My current weight is 255 lbs. Started out at 266...total weight loss so far is 11 lbs.

Yay for you! Sensibility Rocks. I think you are right about being honest - I have messed up there -- i's only ONE cracker, its only ONE pretzel, if it is worth putting in your mouth it is worth writing down. It is inpsiring that you got past the slump and it is another tool in our kit when we face them - thanks for sharing.
For the week:
SW=261.4
CW=256.4
GW=139
Loss for week = 3.4lb
Comments - I think max weight loss *should* have been 2.6lbs - going to make sure I don't go below 1000 of Burn Meter, but I think I only did that one one day.
Hi, everyone, I posted yesterday that I had my WI and was down almost a pound. Well, for some reason I weighed again this morning and was down another 1.3 lbs!!!!! I was amazed! I am going to try to fluctuate my calories this week again, and as soon as my Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred dvd comes, I will start that. I didn't even exercise at all last week, that's why this weight loss was so incredible.
Good going, Longwaytogo--a 3.4lb loss in a week is a great encouragement!

I need to lose 107 pounds and I want to do it by August 12th 2009.
Have started today!
Wish me luck. :)
Best of Luck to you beautiful-stranger!
Hello to all of our new posters!![]()
Things are going well for me....fantastic actually. My scale has been giving me numbers that just do NOT correlate with the way my clothes fit(I have dropped a size) & how I look. I was at my dad's yesterday, used his scale & it said I weighed 288!
(my scale at home has had me at 300!) So, I asked dad how accurate his scale was. He said it was set with his doctors office, that way he could accurately track his weight, so it was accurate. (he is a type 2 diabetic) Then, my nephew says, "I was just at the doctor Friday, lemme on there, I'll see if it is the same". So, he gets on & he weighs the same as he did at his doctors visit. So, lo & behold, I REALLY weigh 288! I like to think less, since I weighed myself at night with all my clothes & shoes on! (My cardinal rule-only weigh in the am, after I pee & only in undies/panties! lol I need all the help I can get! ;) ) So, I am pretty dayum happy. Now, my weight actually MATCHES my clothes sizing & how I look. Stoopid ass scale. At least now I have an accurate idea of my weight.
Hope everyone had a great weekend as well! (maybe some others managed to drop 12 pounds in a day! lol) ~RM
