Anyone out there looking to drop 100 lbs?!?

Quote  |  Reply

I am aiming at losing 100 lbs if not 120lbs.  Anyone else out there needing to drop a significant amount of weight? If so hit me up.  I know the large amount of pounds that you're looking to shed can be overwhelming so let's stick together.  Lets lose lots of pounds together.

So we definitely have room in this forum for men too.  I'm not sexist.  If hangin out with all these girls ever gets akward just let me know.  So I finally weighed myself today since I could make it to the gym in the morning for once.  I lost 5 lbs this week! yay!  I'm so excited.  I was sick most of this week so I hadn't made it to the gym all week so I was worried.  I'm officially 265.  I can't wait to get to that 250 mark.  I'm still eating like the 2000 calories a day but I usually burn a crap load at the gym so that's good.  I'm starting to cook all my own meals as well so that I can control all the ingredients and the calories that are in it.  There's something to be said for cooking at home.  Stay in there ladies.  It's hard for me to commit to a day to weighing but Saturdays or Sundays usually work good for me.

I don't have 100 to lose anymore, but I thought it would still be relevant to post here since I've already lost over 100lbs. Just came to give you all some encouragement. It's hard. I won't lie about that. Outside of these weight-loss websites, people don't understand our struggle; they are quite brutal, actually, to people like us. Just remember that the naturally thin people will not be as healthy in the long run because they did not have to exercise to get where they are, so many of them do not. They never learned the good food from the bad food. We're learning some very valuable ways to take care of ourselves, and the journey will better us even more than the prize at the end.

Hey everyone !! I would love to join this group even tho .. I do have more than 100lbs to lose .. but if I can lose 100lbs Ill be so HAPPY !!

Welcome to all the newbies.  I usually try to post once a day on here so y'all know that I read every message and respond.  I really hate Mondays, don't you?  I'm always sluggish and weekends seem to be the time to get everything done not time to relax.  I did much better and I prepared a bunch of food this weekend.  I'll be cooking tonight too.  Have to make the meals for my hubby and son and than the meals for me as well.  I'm going to spin tonight too.  I'm way excited since I was sick I haven't gotten to in over a week. I'm jonesin.

I just joined this site but I have 100 lbs to lose

Starting weight  402

Current weight  242

Goal Weight  145

My guilty pleasure--  Starbucks

This has been a very long road for me and I have stopped many times along the way but I keep chugging on.  I lost 8 pounds this week with large intense work outs.  I read Jillian's (Biggest Loser) book.  Adopted the theory calories in vs calories out.  I have never been this successful and believe me I have tried everything!

I work out 2-3 hours a day.  Luckily I work from home so that helps a bit.  I can work out in the morning, on my lunch hour and as soon as I am done.  I work out instead of commuting and I have never felt better.  I know I will not do this the rest of my life and that is ok too.  However, if I can at least work out 60 minutes a day I believe my goal will be closer in sight.

We will see what this week brings =)

necwby- Of course there is room for men in this forum! We arent sexist!

slainna- Wow! You have lost so much weight! That is very encouraging...good for you!

Korali- There is always room for more! We are glad to have you!

Valentine33-Wow! 8 pounds in one week....that is amazing..I would love to do that! I dont have time for 2 or 3 hours of working out a day...but what do you do to occupy 3 hours working out?? How much cardio do you do?

jericho- Saturday or Sunday weigh ins work for me! That will also help us to stay on track during the weekend. Is that ok with everyone else?

Im glad everyone is doing well. So far I have lost 15 lbs just cutting calories with hardly any excercise. I started out strong with excercising but got lazy since I was still losing weight without it. But I figure I should start up again because even though I can lose without it, I can probably lose even faster with it! And what better day to start again than Monday!

Alright, So I've officially decided we will weigh in on Saturdays.  If we have a few people that can't do it til Monday that's cool too. I'm pretty flexible.  I threw away my scale so I have to actually be at the gym to weigh.  Good motivation to get to the gym, huh?  Stay strong ladies.  Get those workouts in. Bathing suit season is coming. It's scarey but hey a 16 is still better than a size 20.

Stay strong ladies and gentleman.  sorry. necwby.  I sometimes forget there's men here too. lol.

Would you let me joinyour effort????? I have 90 lbs to lose.  I've done it twice before in my life and now I am determined to do it again.  I am semi-retired and eating out is part of our lifestyle.  We also belong to a camping club that has a covered dish every month where the food is fabulous.  I do fairly well here at home but eating out and covered dish dinners I loss control.  I need to program myself before the next one comes up.  I joined yesterday at 224, I am 66 years old and want to lose this weight.  I have joined a heath club and swim 3 days a week.  I have a problem with my foot so this works for me.

I too am looking to lose about 120 or so lbs.  I am 279 right now, down from 300+, and need to get down to a healthy weight.  Heck at this point I'd be happy getting down to 150.  But I am shooting for getting under 200 first!  I have been heavy since I had my oldest son(he will be 11), but before I got pregnant with him I was only 130-140.  Kinda sucks!

The hardest part for me is that I get discouraged when I don't see the results.  The lowest I have gotten since 2000, is 220 lbs(then i got preggo again with my youngest).  I'm looking forward to losing the weight for good, and making some new friends in the process!

Teresa(jacalcaigabmom)

i started with a goal to lose about 121-123 pounds (this january), the goal weight will be in thr middle of my healthy range.

so far i have lost 35 pounds (if very overweight, people tend to lose the first pounds quite fast, oftentimes. i am sayin thig because i see many thin young dieters here who want to lose 10 or 15 pounds and might be confused)

there is 86 pound to my goal, and i guess this part of the road is going to be more difficult because the loss is gonna be slower - but then again i have gotten used to smaller portions and my body wants some mobing, so maybe it will not be the case:)

anyways i feel much healthier and more nergetic. also love shopping for smaller clothes.

good luck to you all!

hi jerichocheyenne,

cooking for oneself is definitely helpful.

i feel like it is easy to have control over my portion, and not to explain to someone that i do not want this fatty thing or so.

it takes planning and, probably, more money than junk food, but it is worth it. i have been cooking for myself (soups in the colder days, salads etc later on), even bought a kitchen scale (things like marinated tofu or veggie burgers that i love are sometimes dense in calories and it is so easy to underestinate the value). logging all calories has helped me tremendously, and keeps me from slacking.

i weigh every day so no problem with saturday:)

Are we supposed to post our weight?  You do realize that my weight is one of this countries best kept secrets?  And I have to put it up where I can see it?  Oh!!!!!

Hi, I'm in my fifties and need to lose considerable weight.  I have just come off a binge eating disorder clinic and now feel I have the tools I need to lose the weight.  I have been able to get over the binge eating episodes and I am now in the counting calorie stage.  I started off at 282 and have lost 32 lbs since December.  I have joined this website, seeking further support and ideas.  I need to lose an additional 100 lbs.  I look forward to sharing with you in the future.

I totally agree with you clharr!  I do not like to see that number either!  I have still not gotten brave enough to post mine for the world to see yet.  I figure when I am comfortable with it, then I will share it...until then I will just post my weekly losses for now.Embarassed

Ooooo me me...i need to lose 100lbs.  If I go by what I was 10 yrs ago its 90lbs but my body structure has changed after another child and I'm older I think 100lbs sums it up.  I'm 6ft and 272lbs now....was 280lbs and Ive lost a few inches all the way around.  I was 190lbs and people used to tell me I was too thin so I'll see how I look.  But its nice to be here and have such great support.  Best of luck to all of you!!

Wow! We have had so many new people come and join us in the last day.  Craziness.  I'm going to try to reply to all of you. so here we go.

Supernan1414-You are more than welcome here.  Camping a lot does make it very hard to stick to a healthy lifestyle but you can do it.  Make sure you drink lots of water.  Maybe grill lots of veggies instead of loading up on bbq.  As to the delicious covered dishes.  Eat smaller portions.  Try bringing a healthier covered dish to dinner and see if maybe other people will start doing the same.

jacalcaigabmom- Well hopefully you won't get pregnant again when you drop weight...unless you want to. lol. they say when women lose a certain percentage of weight their chances of getting pregnant dramatically increase.  Keep pressing on I got so close to my goal weight 2 yrs ago and gave up.  You'll be one hot mama!

ka2007-Try changing up your workout.  It'll help increase weight loss.  When your body becomes acclamated to a certain routine you don't lose as well.  I do a spinning class at my gym. LOVE IT! burns 1100 calories in 1 hr too. big bonus.  That's awesome you make your foods fresh.  Much healthier. It's my goal to prepare all my own meals for this whole month.

clharr-you don't have to post your weight.  I'm not fixated on numbers but I know some people are.  If you want you can let us know how many inches you lose or the percentage or something.  If not that's cool too we'll still love ya.

dietingdot-Congrats on losing weight and overcoming binge eating.  I've struggled w/ binge eating a lot.  It's tough. Stay strong and fight those thoughts and keep on shedding inches.  I'm sure you'll be beautiful and healthy.

laurienkids2- same thing i said to clharr.  You don't have to post your weight.  It can be scarey but freeing when you let go of it.  Besides you're making a change for the better so what if you need to lose a bunch of weight.  Atleast you're one day closer to your goal and never looking at that number again.  When I saw 280 I about died and I'll never be back there.

limomof5boyz-Just focus on being healthy.  Don't get fixated on the number. I'm 5'10 and your 6' we'll never be the 120 on the scale.  We're healthier at like 160-170.  Keep on losing!

Is this calorie counter on here correct? According to this site, on an average day I am burning 4000 and 4500 calories, it just seems like a lot. The other reason I question it is because I am holding my calorie intake to around 2000 or less, yet so far it seems that I have lost nothing.
