Anyone out there looking to drop 100 lbs?!?

Quote  |  Reply

I am aiming at losing 100 lbs if not 120lbs.  Anyone else out there needing to drop a significant amount of weight? If so hit me up.  I know the large amount of pounds that you're looking to shed can be overwhelming so let's stick together.  Lets lose lots of pounds together.

Smileyman- Like the name. I hope you do smile all the time. I'm feeling you on the desk job that's how I gained the last 20 lbs that I had. I was able to lose those 20 lbs already. Congrats on being a daddy. It's amazing. Everything gets better. Holidays are more fun. It's like you get to be a kid again. You'll definitely need energy especially with boys. Believe me. Luckily for you guys lose faster than women. Add some weight lifting and cardio and eat well and you'll shed inches amazingly fast. Good luck!

It's definitely an exciting thing. I weighed in yesterday after a week of watching my calories, and I checked in at 321.2. Just over 4 1/2 pounds in a week! My goal is to weigh myself twice a week since doing it every day can be depressing because of weight fluctuations.

nedlog1- no prob. We for sure have to all stick together.  Good luck

Smileyman- I weigh in once a week on Saturdays.  You can weight twice if you want but I just weigh once.

Everyone Else- What do you think if we all log how many pounds we lose each week.  I'll total it up and than tell everyone how much in total we've lost together as a team.  We could even set a goal to reach as a team so we can all reward ourselves when we reach it together.

jerichocheyenne...you keep up with everyone so well....I think it is a great idea about logging our lbs...good motivator for a team approach too...little extra push to know your helping out others reach a goal...I say let's do it...I weigh on Fridays...

nedlog1...welcome aboard....I know those that have only 15-20 to lose feel the same as we with more to lose do but I at this time just can not quite relate...I will  one day though!!!!!!!!!!!!

longwaytogo,

I was a night eater as well but when I got off the sugars and bad carbs the cravings went away.  Now to get off of that stuff was hard and took about a week to get it all out of my system.  If I do eat after 7:00 I eat protein like pepperoni or I eat sugar free jello that helps with my sweet tooth and is only 10 calories no fat and no carbs. Hope this helps.

Hey everybody!

I just wanted to give everybody a mid day thumbs up!

Also, I wanted to share a personal victory. This morning I woke up early to work out! Me! The girl who enjoys sleeping more than anything else in this world (well not more than eating obviously!). And let me tell you guys, I'm hooked! Working out in the morning is great! I feel like I could run all day! For those of you who are afraid to try it, it is totally worth it!

I'm going to stop using exclamation points now! No really!

Working out in the mornings...  Yeah, right.  <rolls over and goes back to sleep>

I have been thinking I should go for a short ride in the mornings, but I never seem to get up in time.  Maybe I will try again.  If you can do it, maybe even I can.

For exercise, I try to walk at least 30 minutes a day. I also chase after kids ranging in age 6, 5, 2, 1 & 8mths.(the 6 & 2 y o are mine!)

Sooo, my exercise has LOTS of room for improvement! LOL I am working on that. Praying as I become lighter, exercise will come easier to handle. That will happen....right?!

Still staying at least 300 calories below my minimum, altho most days it is about 500. Not hungry & feeling better, can't complain about that! Wink

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday!

Yay! *group hug*

I'm glad to find a group of people who are shooting for the same goal as myself. :)

My name is Dawn and I need to lose about 120 pounds to reach my ideal weight. I'll be happy however if I can lose the 100...that would be awesome! I've been overweight for a very long time and basically had stopped caring. I'd started and failed many diet plans...to the point of exasperation. When I say I stopped caring I mean that I kinda gave up on myself. But then I read a wonderful, encouraging book by Chantel Hobbs called "Never say Diet".I encourage all of you to purchase and read this book. She lost 200 pounds and did it by counting calories and exercising. Reading her book encouraged me and gave me hope that I really can lose this weight! That link above leads to her website if you wanna check it out.

My starting weight: 270

Current weight: 261

I have a long way to go...but I'm committed to this plan and I'm not going to give up this time.

Y'all take care and nice to meet you.

Hey! My name is Dawn, too. I started the CC journey about 2 weeks ago, and I feel like I finally have the motivation to stick to a diet. This is actually my first post, so I'm new to this whole idea, but I would love to join your group.

Starting Weight: 242

Current Weight: 233.5

Goal Weight: 140

STOP USING THE "D" WORD!!!

A diet is something you do for a specific amount of time until you reach a goal weight or get tired of it.  Then you go back to your usual lifestyle.  That is not an option for us.  Our usual lifestyle is what got us into this mess to begin with.  We have to permanently change our lifestyles.  We have to exercise more and eat better for the rest of our lives.

When we approach our new lifestyles, we need to make sure the changes we make are sustainable.  Find exercises you like and won't mind doing.  Find food that is healthier and you like to eat.

While we all have goal weights (me too), we need to focus more on being healthy today and less on the skinny nirvanna we hope to reach someday.

Be healthy today!  That should be our motto.

I am in the same boat as all of you...cept I gained during pregnancy. The day i delivered I was 210 lbs, and it was really difficult to get motivated to lose after my second child

my highest 210

right now 178

goal 140

......it has been really slow.... at first I just made myself show up to the gym 5 days a week for a year, then a trainer for one year( I lost another 10 lbs that way.) Now i am just calorie counting to see what i eat and how and if i can modify it in a way that I don't starve. I hate feeling hungry...

any good advice on protein that is low fat?

I have over 100 pounds to lose!  I am on the way, I think.  I was heavy all my life almost every since I was 3....so, yea.

Edited:  Starting wieght: 346, gained nine pounds in about a month or so, (I gave up) and now I am back down to 346 and my goal weight for now is 250.  Once I get there, I'm sure I won't quit, I'd like to go to 150 or 130, but I won't complain at 150 though!  I am 5'4" and meduim boned.

I posted this as a thread topic then I remembered I have friends here and this thread so please read below and let me know what you think.

I am a 29 year old Male about 5' 10" at 300 pounds my burn meter is 3150 and my eat meter is 2277. I feel this is high. I have been averaging1500-1800 cal a day and am feeling full and good. I am eating high fiber and low fat and sugar. Am I hurting my weight lose at 1500-1800 cal a day?

I am new to living a healthy lifestyle and losing weight I just do not want to hurt my efforts by doing this.

I am looking to lose another 102 pounds or so. I have lost 10 1/2 over the last month and have done really well until this weel. I only lost 1/2 pound this week. Cry I am 5'9' and was weighing in at 265 when I started. I need all the motivation and help I can get although for the first time in my married life, my husband is actually trying to help so that in itself is a big help.

I have been having problems trying to stay within the zone and am trying to do better. Do you have any suggestions? I also only take in about 1500 calories a day and my food meter is 1950.

Thank you jerichocheyenne and tammyb1995! It has been difficult and all the support I can get will be great.  The hardest part I think is the people in my life who try everything to keep me down.. Isn't it amazing how negative people in your life can act once they see you making positive changes? O, well let them hate!

BTW anyone out there that is trying to stop smoking ask your Dr. if Wellbutrin will work for you. I smoked a total of eight years, but 3 weeks on this I completely quit with no major mood swings or munchies.. 'Till next time-  be the rock in a sea of insanity!

I am a 27 year old woman. I am looking to lose 155-165 pounds.  They say you arent supposed to lose more than 1-2 pounds a week....but I am aiming for 3.  If I can do 3 a week it will take a little over a year to get within range of my goal.

Lets log! great idea. Which day?

Texdeb55 - I just read an article saying men's bodies need 1500 cal a day to 'work'. It advised that if you eat say 1800 cal you burn 300, but if you only eat 1500 then don't burn any cals.  IDk it seems to simple.. thought I'd share. GOOD LUCK!

Hi everyone!  I am new to the site and have to lose 120 pounds, according to CC.  I am 37 with three kids.  I played volleyball in college and was always very athletic, but now have let myself go terribly!  I am 5'11 and currently at 283.  Ouch!  My college playing weight was 190 and that was a great weight for me!  CC says 161, which would be great, too.  I don't just want to lose weight...I want to make a lifestyle change FOR GOOD!  My oldest son is 9 and he has already picked up my bad eating habits!  I feel like a horrible mother!  I learned my bad eating habits from my mom, and I swore I would not be a bad role model for my kids, but.....here I am!  Anyway, I want to change NOW!  I want to run around and play with my kids, without hurting my back, or knees, etc. etc.  I want to join a volleyball league again and go golfing with my husband without worrying about my back locking up on me!  People always say, "YOU have to be ready to lose the weight in order to succeed.  It won't work if you're not completely committed or if you do it because someone else wants you to."  Well, I am FINALLY there!  This is it!

So please, please, please, feel free to read my profile and add me to your friends list!  This is a HUGE goal for all of us and I know we can succeed if we keep each other motivated!  We're in it for the long haul, so let's make it a fun journey together!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Beth

welcome to all you new guys, and yes this is a great site, support advice and morale...it's all here!!!!!!

Hi guys,

Weigh in today a little nervous, hope all goes well.  Welcome to all the new people.

catbird-woman-  You are on the right track, good job loosing the 9lbs.  When I started a moth or so ago everyone was asking me what my goal was and I broke it up into small goals like you are doing.  I started at 246 and my first goal was to be under 200 then I would set another.  I think when we set out with so many high expectations right off the bat we can get discouraged easily and feel like it will never happen so good for you for setting small goals at first.

Tammyb1995- Don't cry at all you are doing great look at the overall picture versus the one week pictureand keep your head up.  It could that you are retaining water more this week and you may have lost weight but with retaining water it does not show on the scale.  I know that is how I felt last week going to the dr.  I did not loose a pound but gained 3 oz. and thought I would cry then they told me that it was water weight I had gained and had actually lost fat over the week.  Keep your head up you are going for it and that alone is encouraging people to start themselves.

happyhealthyme- we have soemthing in common I love volleyball and play in our church league and it is so much fun. I am proud of you for making the change for your kids.  My kids inspired me as well to do better.  You are not a horrible mother.  A mother who sees the problem and then refuses to make the changes for there kids are horrible not you.  My daughter is 16 and has bad eating habits because of me I can tell you that since I started she has begun to loose weight herself just from doing what I do in a modified way and she is exercising with meand stuff.  We as mothers have the power to change our families.  I'm proud of you for making the changes even the small ones will change your kids lives.

neverilluknow-  I like the idea of logging I can logg on Friday's that is the day I get weighed.

Have a great day guys and lets do this!!!
